Isn't the original the one where the zombies are in the missle/military silo?

spiderman_2k
10-19-2003, 12:51 PM
No I think thats Day Of The Dead...

Inval1d
10-19-2003, 01:01 PM
oh ok, I get all these *BLANK* of The Deads mixed up. Thanks

scifi guy
10-19-2003, 01:02 PM
yep Spidey your right "Day of the Dead" is when the humans take
refuge in the missle/military silo. They take refuge because the zombies outnumber the humans 400,000 to 1.

Inval1d
10-19-2003, 01:06 PM
and isn't the ending all a dream or something like that

scifi guy
10-19-2003, 01:09 PM
Yeah I think so I could be wrong though. There are so many ____ of the Dead movies and it's been awhile since i've watched any zombie flick.

Inval1d
10-19-2003, 01:14 PM

The original is fantastic.
The zombies are dated now but it's still a great film.

Night of the living dead is still the best zombie film imo but Dawn is on equal status to that.

Day was not that great imo.

Well kind of they leave the military island and land on some uncharted island or something, then they get attacked and killed but then the female lead wakes up and they are safe on the island, that was the dream part but no, the whole thing was not a dream

The order, for those who dont know is, Night of the Living Dead then Dawn of the Dead and finally Day of the Dead.

All three are good, the remake of Night of the Living dead is ok and Dawn of the Dead should be really good too. Ving Rhames is great. I just hope this one kind of sticks to the story line but by looking at the commercials I dont think it will.

Yes it's the greatest zombie flick of all time, Amen to that.

But do NOT see the remake.....do yourself a favor.

Well there again, many see the Return Of The Living Dead films as part of the Night Of The Living Dead trilogy , and they aren't. The ONLY connection both series have is that John Russo, co-writer of NOTLD with George Romero, also wrote the story for Return Of The Living Dead on his own.

Return of the Living Dead is more like a comedy type version of Night of the Living Dead. It's really campy while NOTLD is serious.

Right on Kris Hodgson!

And BTW-Sonny Chiba rules! Have you ever seen the one film he did in 1966 called "Terror Beneath The Sea?" The alternate title is "Water Cyborgs." It's terribly cheesy monster film about an underwater lab where a mad scientist is turning captives into these amphibious mer-monsters, and it's up to Chiba to stop him.

He also played a TERRIBLE hero called 'The Space Chief" in "Invasion Of The Neptune Men" in 1968. This was torn apart on MTS3000 one time, and OMG LMAO!

His real name is Shinichi Chiba.

Id say that Dawn of the Dead is a zombie Classic! i love that film, never gets boring. I`ll go see the remake but so far its looking like a carbon copy just set in 2003.

Dawn of the Dead is fantastic. It's like the Holy Grail of "Dead" movies and zombie flicks. You are hereby under orders to buy the re-release 2-disc on DVD in Feb. so that you can experience all the goodness that Dawn has to offer.

Good grief you Australians are fiesty!

Anyway, someone mentioned the movie might use CGI and go over the top with it. I dont think it will. Romero wouldnt do that. Tom Savini (who was in the trailer for it) wouldnt use CGI, he is all about the real stuff. That is why the original Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead were so cool because they used real animal guts for the fx, not crappy cgi stuff!

Romero has nothing to do with this remake, and has actually been quite vocally AGAINST them remaking it. He doesn't own the rights though, so he can do nothing about it.

hmmm, i was wondering if romero was having anything to do with the movie....i just read up on some of the things hes been saying.....true enough, how can they re make it without even asking him or consulting him on ANYTHING? it always confuses me about the studio owning rights to movies or characters etc that someone else created. :(

I know some aren't gonna like me for saying, but didn't really care much for Dawn of the Dead. I didn't think was nearly as good as Night, and the music sucked in it. Though, I'm not really a big of Psycho either.

yeah, music reminded me of a bad porn flick.

I rekon DOTD remake is going to be a over the top special effects slasher flick, with a bunch of stupid blond bimbos running around getting eaten. I just hope that they dont follow the conventions of modern horror movies....drugs, sex, slash....no substance.

Its never going to be as good as the original but i just hope they make it into a enjoyable popcorn horror flick, nothing more is expected.

Dawn of the Dead to me is the best Horror movie of all time. I really want to see the remake. The only thing Im worried about is them messing it up. I think the effects from the original are outstanding. That movie i think was made in 1978. They are also coming out with a 3 disc dvd of the original. I cant wait for that.
