You've never heard of the Travelling Wilburys? Here's some more info:
Reversing the usual process by which groups break up and give way to solo careers, the Traveling Wilburys are a group made up of solo stars. The group was organized by former Beatle George Harrison, former Electric Light Orchestra leader Jeff Lynne, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and Roy Orbison, thus representing three generations of rock stars. In 1988, the five (who had known each other for years) came together to record a Harrison B-side single and ended up writing and recording an album on which they shared lead vocals. It turned out to be a way to transcend the high expectations made of any of them as individuals, and a delighted public sent the album to number three, with two singles, "Handle With Care" and "End of the Line" hitting the charts. Unfortunately, Orbison died of a heart attack only a few weeks after the album's release.
Two years later, the remaining quartet released a second album, inexplicably titled Vol. 3. Although it didn't match the success of the first Wilburys album, it was another million-selling hit. Throughout the '90s, there were rumors of another Traveling Wilburys record in the works, but no new albums from the group surfaced. Harrison and Lynne did re-team in 1995, when Lynne produced and reworked two John Lennon demos with the Beatles for their Anthology rarities collection.

damn I still need to get the others. I got ben folds new solo album- songs for silverman(best album of 2005! so far) and I got whatever and ever amen. I love both of them. Ben Folds is such a great song writer. He can make some great music. One singer that not many people at school would listen to though, since he's a piano player and that would be considered pretty "gay"(I hate when people use this word as insult) at my school.

Whereas, I don't have any of his solo albums. I really need to get those. I remember hearing "Underground" on the radio in '95, when I was in high school, and loving it. Of course, I didn't hear from the Five again til '97 when Whatever and Ever came out. So, I picked up both albums right then and there, and continued to buy their albums. I've even got a Ben Folds Five tee shirt. I think they kick ass. Using "gay" as a lame insult is pretty damned weak. If they don't like it, they should at least find a more....unique and literate way of expressing it. Thats just ignorant.

I agree with you on the whole "gay" as an insult. It's just a lazy insult and is just so overused. I go to the weezernation messageboards and thats all you ever hear. Anyways you really should pick up his solo albums. I havn't picked it up,but I heard rockin the suburbs is a good album. Plus I the song "rockin the suburbs" is a very cool song. He pretty much sounds like ben folds five in his solo albums. Not much difference. His new album is his more mature stuff since now he's a family, but it has some very good songs in it. I highly recomend it. Plus you need to listen to his cover of Dr. dre's "*****es ain't ****"

No, I don't think I have heard that. You know, I actually bought the Godzilla (1998) soundtrack because there was a Ben Folds Five song on there that I didn't have?

Speaking of that, buy some Flaming Lips albums too, cg. I have two right now(Transmissions from the Satellite Heart and Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots). Both are great albums. Oh yeah, and their song from the Spongebob Squarepants soundtrack("Spongebob and Patrick Confront the Psychic Wall of Energy") is one of my favorite songs from 2004.

I was gonna suggest that too, but you seem to be the one to always suggest music...I didn't want to take that away from you. ;)
