It's up to you really, decide what you are looking for in a console and then match the 2 consoles up and whatever one meets the most of your requirements then you should buy that.

Yeah, basically it all comes down to what u prefer, what types of games, Online play, DVD playback...

Well, Football games are good on PS2...Racing your better off with PS2, as it has more serious racers than GC, and PS2 has many better beat 'em ups....

For those reasons given I would say PS2 has more on offer for the games but for gameplay the GC would be better

Yeah, but if the types of games he likes are'nt really on GC..He cant enjoy the gameplay that much.

Yep, i just got an X-Box a few hours ago...I got Halo, Knights Of The Old Republic, Splinter Cell, Shenmue II and Indiana Jones, plus an extra controller...Quite a nice little bundle to get me going.

Alternatively given the type of games you may favour (more arcade and sports based) you could opt for the X-box either.

Graphics, sound, evrything about it technically is superior to the PS2, and to a slightly lesser extent the GC. It also has more of that kind of game than the GC. Oh, and I think it's just as competitively priced (if not more so) that the PS2!

next month ill hav enough money to get a 9800 pro for my computer, then i may buy gamecube, i always liked zelda, and metroid prime looks awesome....but i think u should get a ps2 if u dont hav one already
