Well I was bored and when I'm bored I start thinking about stupid nearly impossible things that would be really cool. So how cool would it be if later down the road PJ filled in the missing scenes from all the lotr movies that were missing or edited and made them true to the book aka Tom Bandabil scouring of the shire and stuff like that. How cool would it be. He then adds them into the movies on dvd. It would take years but would be very cool.

lol ya he would basically have to redo the movies. Like how Tom gave the hobbits their swords not Strider, remove the whole scene with Faramir in ttt with Gondor. But i guess he could do a revised version. But it would have ot eb recent b/c these actors will get older.

Lucas would do it. PJ wouldn't. It's a dumb idea -- books and movies are totally different mediums that require use of different plot devices, story structure, etc. The movies were never intended to be a "carbon copy" of the book on the screen -- but movies that depict Tolkien's work as accurately as possible. I think it's amazing how much of the movies' dialogue are verbatim Tolkien. It's a miracle that PJ and team were able to make films that do the work justice -- a task I would have deemed impossible before seeing FOTR. I doubt anyone else could have done it, either.

In like 3 yrs I think they should get the EE for all three movies and add like 3 more hours to it and have it in an ultimant like 10dics set.

Well, that would be awesome, but PJ wants to move on. Honestly, we should let him...and the actors, too.

I agree with Cloud Buster, no disrespect but I think it's s tupid idea.

If you want the 'definitive' version of LOTR then read the books, that's what they are.

The films are just that films. The TC and EE's are PJ's version of the story. Making a film that line for line as the book would be extremely long, unworkable and TBO pretty boring on film.

I'm personally not a big Tom Bombadil fan, and was kind of relieved that he didn't make it on screen, not that he wasn't cool in the books, but you know, if that was in a movie, it'd look kinda...yeah, and in Rotk, they can really leave out that whole Saruman being called 'Sharkey' bit...that was just wrong, but yeah, creative idea, just should never happen (or will happen for that matter...)
