Babylon 5 is the best tv series ever. No one above, no one close. It tells a story with a beginning a middle, and an end. It beats the #¤%& sitcoms to death.
The people making it believe in the story an ddon't see it as cheap entertainment, as most people making tv-series do.
Why are people watching sitcoms anyway?

The Best Show Ever? I don't know, but I do know a lot of great shows......instead of listing 5 of my favorites I'll man up and just choose one as my favorite.

Best show ever- CSI, Scrubs, Buffy the Vampire Slayer (too bad it's gone but it had a great run) and as for older shows- The A-Team, China Beach, Airwolf and McGuyver.

Babylon 5? Best show ever? Perhaps in your opinion.
Buffy currently has that coveted top spot in my personal opinion poll.

I would do the same if they weren't so damn expensive. They cost twice as much here than they do in the US and it doesn't help when you aint got any money to waste.

You can buy them from amazon.com for pretty cheap. I was just looking around and happened to stumbled across them. I bought the first three seasons on DVD for almost half of what I would have paid for them in the store here.
Just an idea. :)

I can import them for around £30/$49 instead of the usual £75/$124 which I think you'll agree is a lot of money

Damn, I had no idea it was that expensive..they run around $45 on average for me but I found them for a little over $30 on amazon.

That's the same price for most box sets although shows like X-Files cost around £100/$166 for each season available and that's one of my favourite shows.

Sorry. buffy is a poor writer's nightmare of a vampire story. Some episodes, like "passion" is great, but that, too, is suffering from what I call the "buffy-weakness". Thank god whedon was not allowed to ruin the x-men.
Taken is great.

The best show ever is FRIENDS, hands down. The next in line is Seinfeld.

When I see you all saying Buffy, I have to remind myself that your mainly all 12 year olds who dress themselves in black. Next your be saying "Dude, wheres my car?" is the greatest film of all time.

Currently it's '24'. I really love 'Law & Order' but the greatest T.V. show ever, IMO, is 'TWIN PEAKS".

As with picking the best movie ever, this is truly a subjective thread.
I would no doubt change my opinions as I thought of more and more tv shows, but here are some of the best I'm currently reminded of:
24
Seinfeld
M.A.S.H.
All In The Family
I Love Lucy
Law & Order
Hill Street Blues
The Bob Newhart Show
Newhart
Friends
Saturday Night Live (differing years, mostly the original cast)
The Avengers
The Fugitive
Monty Python's Flying Circus
The Mary Tyler Moore Show
The Dick Van Dyke Show
The Carol Burnett Show
The Ed Sullivan Show
Gunsmoke
Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In
Maverick
