This is my theory/idea - read all, and then criticise:
Following the sucessful idea of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and Bionicle (and other franchises turn CGI movie), Nintendo reveals a partnership with Disney, or one of it's sub-devisions (ie. Miramax).
They then release The Legend of Zelda, which is a new take on the legend. It's the same Zelda as all the past ones, but this time Zelda/Tetra finds it's her that has to do the quests, not a elf-boy called Link.
So this time the story follows Zelda. I think that Nintendo should make this a theatrical film. If all CGI, and with a really big budget ($60 million+), this film can look HUGE and can be very long, cis' CGI really doesn't have any boundaries on what you can do.
If they follow this idea, we can quite easily have a LOTR replacement. But for that to happen you'll need:
- Actors. Proper ones. Get Keira Knightley to play Zelda
- British accents. No obscure american "Whatever" types
- Big budget. Because it's CGI, with a $60 million budget, you can make SO much (using Korean resources like Bionicle and Final Fantasy do)
- A trilogy. 3 parts equal 3 times the money. And if each has a buget of say like $30 million, and were all CGI, you've got alot of possibilties to do in those films.
Well post your ideas. I personally think that the retelling of the story should be a movie thing, and stay away from the games.
