View Full Version : New Movie Board Suggestions??!

Coming Soon!
09-21-2003, 02:04 AM
I think we're ready for some new suggestions on additional movie boards in the STUDIO TOUR section. For sure staying are LOTR, Matrix, Harry Potter and Star Wars.

Perhaps Van Helsing, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Kill Bill 1 & 2, Alien vs. Predator?

I'm thinking franchise films, and remember that comic book movies are discussed in the Comic Book Adaptations forum.

Lemme know if you have any thoughts...

Thanks, M.

Perhaps a videogame movie section...If not a resident evil one would be cool

Perhaps the CHRONICLE OF NARNIA films....

Citizen Kane
09-21-2003, 03:19 AM
Perhaps an Alien/Predator board, until the film comes out.

A Kill Bill forum would be Nirvana for me, but I don't know how popular it would be amongst the others. I would love it, but I doubt it would be very popular.

And i got a question is it true that there was once a pearl harbor forum?

aw is the James Bond thread going to dissapear? That would be a shame.

Ive always looked upon the Studio tours as a place to keep the fanboys locked up away from the rest of the boards. Van Helsing, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Kill Bill etc arent really that big, compared to the hugely hyped matrix, lotr etc.

Like citizen kane im looking forward to kill bill - alot although I just dont think it would be that popular here. Maybe a martial arts film section?

I dont think a video game movies thread would be required either.

Hmmm.....CHRONICLES OF NARNIA?

7 book series almost as popular LOTR...huge fan following....think about it. C'mon, "The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe"!

Personally I'm thinking that after LOTR is done we should do away with the movie specific forums and go to genre forums.

But that might just be me.

That's a good idea, but not boring stuff like 'Drama', 'Action' and such. More like 'Game' movies, 'Comic' movies, etc.

See we already have Horror, Comic Adapts and Animation.

Add:

Sci-Fi (Star Wars, Star Trek, Alien, Terminator etc)

Fantasy (LOTR, Narnia, Harry Potter, there's more on the way I'm sure)

Adventure/Action (Indy, James Bond, Die Hard and more)

Which should cover just about everything except Drama/Comedy which are easily covered in general/upcoming films.

It could work.

Yes but on a whole the boards becomes easier to manage and less cliqueish.

The little groups that have sprung up in the Matrix, LOTR, Harry Potter and Star Wars forums would interact more with the general populace of the forums which is probobly a good thing.

I might be an idiot for saying this but the battle threads should have their own section in one of the forums. They're popular and really some of them are in the wrong forums as it is.

Just a thought.I know we discussed this before in one of the other threads.

Problem is you want the fans of whatever topic the battle thread is on to be able to see it.

Many may not.

No this hasnt really been discussed...I think what one user wanted was a forum where fans of certain films, ie SW, LOTR can pretty much argue against each other...

The only thing about the battle threads is they are all over the place so having them all together would be a good idea, but could just turn into a post whores dream, where they can just run down the list voting happily......

There is a certain art to advertising your threads withount spamming... discover it.

(sigs and the "whats on your mind" thread can work wonders as long as you don't get obsessive and aren't blatant about it)

X-Men used too.

And we used to have genre forums but that didn't work and all of them were combined to the three we have today. Horror then was born, but before the Genre Forums there was I think Misc. Films, and Misc. Comic Films. So I guess it's a cycle.

I think Ty's idea is the best. There really aren't any more sagas besides Star Wars after this Dec. And Narnia is a LONG way off. As for the battle threads I think alot of them would fail. I know mine would. Alot of people think that the battle threads are on a whole stupid and wouldn't ever go into an entire forum for them. I think the battles are a passing fad and will fade sometime soon.

Spiderman II, or just a general superhero movie forum (wait, we already sort of have that)

generally i think the studio tour section is best suited to a series of films.

but seriously, we need a forum for trailers. stat.

Maybe a historical epic forum would be nice, since there's going to be a ton of epic films coming out in the next year or two, like alamo, last samurai, alexander, and troy, it would be nice to talk about them and the history behind it.

Edit- Other suggestions, King Kong, Van Helsing, and Pirates of the Caribbean 2+3

That sounds alright, but how about we put it into a filmaking forum or something like that? Sort of like the Production idea that was put forth a few months ago.

Something that would be cool to have ( Although I dont know how popular it will be) Would be an Indie film forum.

Hmmm....

The only ones I could think of, which have been mentioned, are Spiderman and Kill Bill.

I don't know if Alien Vs. Predator would get enough traffic, I could be wrong.

To be quite honest, I can't really see a film in the near future that would have a big enough fan base to get their on forum.

Maybe, like mentioned, Van Helsing.

Possibly, The Foundation or War of the Worlds in the future.

I only check out the Matrix/LOTR forums.

I don't quite see the purpose of a Terminator forum.

I guess I understand a James Bond and/or Harry Potter forum, though, I am not a big fan of them myself.

You know what I would really love to see, a DIRECTORS forum!

A forum to discuss diffrent directors without all the clutter and mess.

What about a fan fiction forum?

I would be curious to see what creative genius (or not) lurks in some of the members brains.
