A Zambian woman has won "Big Brother Africa," the first edition to cross international borders by featuring contestants from 12 different countries.
Cherise Makubale, 24, was tearful as viewers from across Africa phoned in Sunday night to vote her winner of the contest and send her home to the northern Zambian town of Kitwe with a $100,000 paycheck.
Makubale was last one out of the "Big Brother" House in Johannesburg, South Africa, 106 days after she and the other 11 contestants first entered.
Continental paybox M-Net estimated that 30 million people in 46 countries tuned in every day to watch its version of the contest.
