I was just wondering about the grainy look of the Chicago DVD. I actually like it and think it gives the film a authentic look. But I was just wondering if it looked that way in the theatres? In other words is the DVD mean to have a "grainy" look?

I don't think so, the movie is set in a bar-like atmosphere, there are supposed to be some grain in the movie to make it more authentic, but not at this scale, I thought that this Chicago DVD transfer is not that good, it will do for this DVD, but if BV releases a Special Edition of some sort, I wish all of the elements of this DVD is fixed (ie. features, transfer etc.)

Yeah, I thought they did kind of a cheap job of this DVD. Best Picture of the Year deserves better treatment.
