For all the newbies. I have been noticing an abundance of REALLY unnessecary posts lately. For instance, say there was a thread that was titled "Butter and why I like it" and you post in there, "I don't like butter". Ok.....? Great. The thread isn't called "Do you like butter or not?" So in short, if there's a thread called "Sex and why it's fun" don't post "I haven't had sex" or "How to quit smoking" don't post "I don't smoke".

Unneccesary posts just make people think you're only here to spam and isn't a very good tactic to making friends. If you feel that you have something to say in a thread make sure it has a point and other members will actually care about it. Thank you.

But what if you DONT like butter?

IdahoMR2man

Well then perhaps you should explain why and why it matters to others that you don't like butter.

AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

*jumps out window in hell*

There's a difference between a worthy pointless post (99% of Jibbs are pointless but they are funny so it's ok ;) ) and someone saying something stupid just to respond to EVERY thread deserves a kick in the virtual balls.

I've tried explaining this to people, but they give me the whole "I'm just giving my opinion.".

I don't think a post that consists of "Yeah, that's cool.", is worth posting. If you think it's cool, tell us why it's cool, so we can respond and the thread doesn't die prematurely....

So really, the issue isn't with newbies making pointless posts, cuz just about everyone makes pointless posts and that's how it's always been. The issue is really with some people just being plain annoying. Right?!

In other words, uhhh.....stop..being..annoying? Hmm

Although, I really don't need to defend myself, my first post was in a battle thread and therefore completely relevant.

I think this might need a poll to get the complete consensus of the Margarine vs Butter issue.

Mr.Matinee
09-15-2003, 10:26 PM
well, butter is healthier, but doesn't melt as quick as margarine..

The Moose

butter iS NOT healthier, as it contains saturated hydrocarbons. margarine tastes better, and is healthier.

trust me on the hydrocarbons. i do chemistry
