Dubbed or Subbed!?!

Just wondering what you guys prefer when watching foreign movies.

Personally I prefer to watch them using subtitles and keep the original soundtrack

I dont really like Foreign movies all that much, but wen theres occasionally a good one i like them subtitled.

I personaly like the subtitled ones (like to hear the original actors voice, even if I can't understand them) but usually watch the dubbed ones because none of my friends or family will watch the other.

i have never really seen a foeign film:( but i plan to start watching them soon
but it hink i will get subtitled becuase if the mouths dont match the words that the person is saying i start to get annoyed:(

If you liked Vanilla Sky, rent

'Obre Los Ojos', it's the original version of it, and better.

Y Tu Mama Tambien was good too.

Gotta be subtitled. The acting is much more than just the words that the actors speak, it's HOW they speak them. The connotation they use in their voices, speach mannerisms, etc. You need the original actor's voice for that, even if you can't understand the words he is speaking.

i seen some of vanilla sky and didnt really like it:(

but the i just watched a movie where they speak in spanish and american call Real Woman Have Curves

and Y Tu Mama Tambien is the foreign film i plan on seeing since i heard so many good things about it i plan on renting it once it gets off the new release shelf (i can rent it for free then)

I enjoy the hilarouty that comes from dubbing. Plus, I'm lazy and don't like to read too much. Lol.

I liked the dubbed version of "Crimson Rivers" because Jean Reno and Vincent Cassel did the English version for their characters.

Dubbed movies are one of my pet peeves. honeslty if you are too lazy to read a subtitle, you shouldn't be allowed the privlage of watching a foreign film.

Subbed although the only foreign film I have on dvd is Taxi 2. it seems crazier in french - ALERT GENERAL!

I have Ichi The Killer, Once Upon In China 1,2,&3, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Shaolin Soccer, Black Mask, El Mariachi and Brotherhood of the Wolf on DVD and all of them are in foreign languages.

I can't watch a dubbed movie because the dubbing is so bad it makes me cringe, especially Brotherhood of the Wolf because it's French. Usually when watching Japanese movies dubbed it looks as if they are saying the words but in BOTW, it's obvious they are not speaking English

Some Anime's I've watched have excellent delightful english voice actors, but when it comes to live-action stuff, I haven't exactly seen one that I've liked.

yes when thier just voice actors either way it dosn't matter that mutch, otherwise I need subs.

for a serious laugh watch "8 mile" dvd dubed into french

What's really great is to watch the scene in the Usual Suspects where they're at the police line-up in French. Stephen Baldwin's stuff is hilarious. :D

The only time I don't have a problem with a dub is when it is aimed at little kids.

Yeah, you're right. Subtitles just won't work unless they're a certain age.

Subtitled by far! When a movies dubbed it's so stupid, the only reason i'd watch a movie dubbed is for a good laugh.

I'll definetly say subbed. I like hearing it the way it is meant to be heard and I really don't mind reading subs. Most dubs are bad and the only time I listen to them is if it's an american DVD version of the movie and all they have is the dubbed version.

dubbing usually just sounds really fake and bad. subtitles allow the true nature of the film to be left intact.

I actually like reading subtitles, because it really allows you to pay more attention to the movie than hearing it. I don't miss whats happening in the plot because I see everything they say

Both should be available.

The first time I saw the anime Metropolis, for example, I got the plot, but I missed out on the visuals. On DVD I watched it dubbed and the visuals were amazing, there was so much I missed having to read the subtitles. But since the dubbing usually has at least one flaw (Metropolis's was the voice of the little girl was nowhere near as perfect as the original Japanese voice), I can switch it back to subtitled.

I can understand dubbing an anime sometimes, because it's not as bad as a regular live action movie, but dubbing makes foreign films less unique IMO
