there may already be a thread for this but i mostly only check out the recent threads. anyway i have a question they already have the the second season of futurama out. which i am not complaining about at all, but why are the futurama season coming out so fast, when there is a year between each season of the simpson dvds. i know that season 3 of the simpsons is coming out at the end of the mounth, but they won't come out with season 4 until next year, while they had the first season of futurama out at the begining of the year, and just released season 2.

Do the Futuramas have commentaries? The Simpsons have it on every episode, so it might take a while to record all that around they're schedules. If Futurama doesn't have 'em they could get them out sooner.

I can only guess but I presume they are rushing the futurama dvds out becuase the series has finished and they want to get them out whilst the show is still fresh in the mind.

The simpsons is a much bigger firmly established clasic and they can afford to tease the public a bit more - plus they are always coming out with endless smaller dvds that only have a couple of episodes on them - the movie one the treehouse of horror ones etc.

tedward! Where in the world have you read that Futurama Season 4 is going to be releasing in "a few weeks" in the UK? It can't be pre-ordered on Amazon or Blackstar, and I can't find any news about it anywhere on the net.

Insider, I saw it when I went to buy series one from play.com (half price)

http://www.play.com/play247.asp?page=title&r=R2&title=126870

They say its due for release on 01/09/2003. Thats the only details they have, no picture or anything. I cant find details anywhere else either but they are not usually wrong about these things, so heres hoping.

Some other sites say November 17 is a more reliable date. Its looking likely to be this year though.

ok your welcome, I usekelkoo (http://films.kelkoo.co.uk/b/a/c_148401_films.html) when Im buying dvds online (its for europeans only) it compares the prices from all the online stores - there can be some big differences between stores.

It also has good links to shops in the uk which sell region 1 or 4 titles online.

i was just curious why they are taking a whole year between seasons of the simpsons, because most all other tv series that come out on dvd usually have a couple of season come out a year. they had an article about the futurama season 2 dvd set at tvguide.com a while back, and said they came out with the second one because the first season of futurama sold so well.

i am suprised though that they haven't had more then just one season a year of the simpsons because i did hear that it was the bestselling tv series on dvd so far. but then you could be right because this year they are releasing the first christmas special and halloween episode on dvd by themselves, so they might not feel the need to release more then on season a year.
