John waters CECIL B DEMENTED 8/10


Ima big John Waters fan (Pink Flamingoes, Cry Baby, Pecker etc)and think CECIL B DEMENTED is one of his best.


Hilarious statement against big budget hollywood and the crap they continue to churn out.

Stephen Dorff does a fabulous job as teh over the top, over sexed, over eager and allround movie geek Cecil. Maggie Galenhaal is equally amusing as one of his many unique cronies. Melnie Grifith too, who I am not a fan of is actually great in her role, the whole time though I was seeing her charecter as Julia Roberts which made me laugh.

There is tons of love in the film for truly great directors like Sam Peckinpah and John cassevettes etc all get saluted and the whole thing reeks of everything I love.

John Waters as usual delivers a crazy, one of a kind comedy that has thrown political corectness out the window and points the finger at mainstream America.
