This comes from SSH...who got it from Aint-It-Cool-news....
Ain't-It-Cool-News received this interesting bit on the upcoming Superman movie...
I work at Warner Bros. Today I was walking by a stage on the lot and noticed an empty stage with the elephant doors open(those 30 foot doors on the soundstages). When I took a closer look I noticed that the stage had different colored tape stuck to the ground throughout the stage looking kind of like a race track of some sort. The stage also had about twenty 1"x 3"/30ft boards standing upright and tied off at the ceiling with rope. I thought it was kind of odd looking so I went to one of the two workers posted on the stage to ask him what the hell this was that they were building. Well, I was quite excited when the guy told me that it was markers for a set that they were building for "Superman".
I then said, "I thought that WB put that on hold until they nailed down a director. He then said, "Well it's a go and McG is coming over later today to approve the design of the stage".
What u guys think??
McG as the director??

I'm just glad it started. I hope it doesn't suck. I would have gotten Sam Raimi to do it. Spiderman was superb and Superman could have been as well.

i would have gotten Micheal Bay to do Superman. But, MCG is fine, just hope that he won't have Drew Barrymore play Lois Lane like it was rumoured before

McG is a great director, I love his style, it's very comic booky and he can pick a great soundtrack.
This movie will be visually great, I hope it's great in story as well.
They need to nail Billy Zane as Luthor for this to work.

You're not too smart Highlander. If anyone should leave the board, it should be you. Spidey has been here so long that your comment is so dumb to read. For a newbie, you don't know how to make yourself at home.
And if you're being sarcastic, I apologise in advance, but im unable to read sarcasm.

Highlander, it's fine to disagree with the personalities on this board, especially the veterens. But I also think your arguments need a whole lot more substance. Simply bashing people's opinions with no reason apart from simply disagreeing (ie "Spidey Fans") is kinda shamless and dumb, I think your approach needs to be reassesed.
For everyone who Hated the Hulk, I honestly can't wait for you to hear the news. McG is directing Superman.
I think it's great news. All he needs is a good script. And Brendon Frasier as Clark and Superman.
Bay would have done a better job though.
And for everyone who thinks it's a bad thing that it's McG, would you rather have the guy who did...I don't know..Gosford Park?
Just think about it.
The guy didn't write Charlies Anglels.
The girls flying along side the truck and chopter off the bridge was bad for one reason, it didn't make sense. It looked damn awesome though. In Superman, it will make sense.
Get it?

Go to the James Bond message board where you Brits belong. Vin Diesel as XXX was 10x better than that old grandpa Brosnan Bond. Who hear likes the original Superman and Batman movie than that stupid over rated piece of garbage kiddie movie Spider-man? whos with me? DIE SPIDEY DIE!!!!!!!!!! and who thinks this new Superman will be so awesome that it will blow everything away!!!!!! 130 million opening weeken beat that Spider-man bastard, no comic book character is more famous than the Man of Steel, the first Superhero is still the Greatest!!!!!! P.S go ride the Superman Flight ride at Great Adventure, a lot better than that stupid Island of Adventure ride with a stupid kiddy PSidey ride, Marvel sucks, DC rules, whos with me?

You say "who's with me" in every one of your posts, and not one person has actually been with you on ANYTHING. I'd say this is a good sign that you should quit bashing people's opinions. And I highly doubt Spidey 2K is taking any heed to what you're saying anyway so I don't think you should waste your breath.
Anyway, I have my doubts about McG. Charlie's Angels was pretty bad even if he didn't write it. I'd definitely go with Michael Bay. But who knows, maybe McG can pull this off. Let's hope so...

Marvin please stop with The Brendan Frasier Superman , it's lame and it'll never sell.An unknown all the way.
If they get Billy Zane as Luthor then I'll be happy.

I'd say Spacey for Lex. But Zane will do.
I can't believe people can't see that Frasier was born for the role.
Bye for now Highlander. As un-character like as it might seem, I agree with some of you opinions, but none of your posts.

Think if Highlander was a mod!Scary...
Anyway,I think that the best person for this would be Tim Burton.
He did Batman/Batman Returns perfectly,So I think he could give
Superman the appeal it deserves.
sniktawt
08-10-2003, 04:29 PM
And Tim isn't always dark mooded either.I thought Mars Attacks was a different approach for him. That was bright and Lighthearted, something Superman needs.
I do think McG will give this movie some great action sequences and I hope he gives it a kick ass soundtrack.
But If he casts Drew Barrymore the movie is doomed.
Marvin is correct If they don't get Zane, Kevin Spacey would be brilliant. But will he shave his head ? hmmm.Well Hackman didn't and he was fantastic so I guess it wouldn't matter.

Didnt he shave his head for the tiny cameo he had in Goldmember???

Wasn't his head shaved in Seven? I can't remember....

Spielberg would be good, but he wouldn't touch it. He likes doing original ideas mostly.
