Why on earth would an American go on this show? According to current exchange rates an American would only win £618,818.60. Now if someone in Britain were to win they would get $1,615,805.89 that is over half a million extra! I always knew we won more but I never realised how much more.
So basically the Americans are being screwed with there money.

You know that the figure isn't exactly correct, because the London - New York exchange rate isn't exactly stable.... one day, the dollar is worth more than the pound, the other, vice versa.

Bc its open to American residents. Vice Versa. Plus aren't things over priced across the Atlantic?

Yep, among other reasons, the prices are jacked up because of EU policies.

Did I miss something????
IT'S A MILLION FREAKIN' DOLLARS
Even after Uncle Sam takes his cut (which of course doesn't happen in Canada :p ) it's still a fair chunck of change. Most people are happy to win $1000 or even $100 bucks. It's still money you didn't have before. Heck look at the now defunct Win Ben Steins Money. People competing for $5000 and it's probobly a tougher show to win as there's no multiple choice on most questions (not to mentions Ben's a pretty smart cookie)

People go on the show because it's a way of possibly making a ton of money without working. Sounds good to me.

That was a joke, right? The dollar is never going to get bigger than the british pound.

Uh-oh.... might have been a fact mix up.... it's the euro I heard that about.
Damn faulty memory.
Who cares if you don't exactly win $1 million dollars? We've got Wal-Mart. You could by a whole single store for under a million and have everything you'd ever need. ;)
