From DVDAnswers.com:

"20th Century Fox Home Entertainment have just released the official artwork for the region one release of X-Men 2 which is also known as X2: X-Men United. This boxoffice hit stars the likes of Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen and Halle Berry and will be available to own from November of this year. I'm afraid that we don't have the official releasedate or disc specs yet but we expect to have these very shortly. For now though here's an exclusive first look at widescreen and fullscreen artwork for the two disc set:"

That cover owns. I'd still buy the DVD even if it didn't have extras. This one's on the "must buy on the 1st day" list.

I really like the cover art. I don't get why lady deathstrike is on the second disc, she wasn't a big character at all.

I hope X2 is in a paper case like x-men and 1.5. If it isn't, they will look weird together.

I wish it didn't have X Men United on, X2 would look better just on its own IMO.

I don't like the cover. It should be all silver with a simple X2 symbol right in the centre.

Luckily the film's not called X-men United in the UK - it never was marketed as, and the BBFC didn't call in "United" so maybe our (that's UK) DVD is just X2 - or possibly X2.5?
I better have the paper-box around it - it makes it look along the same lines as 1.5.

I saw coverart somewhere else that looked like the movie posters, maybe thats what you are getting in the UK. Also the Jap. version looks like the one from the international posters.

Nice - however, i don't advise many people to buy it - especially if there is a 3rd film. And as it most likely will only take two years to make, it would be out for like 2005. No point in buying a two-pack, when you can get a trilogy-set!

I doubt people will wait over 2 years for a DVD...only to get it in a trilogy box-set...

Yeah - maybe you're right. But in my opinion there are two options:

Buy the DVDs all seperately, or in a two pack, and suffer the fate of no continuity between packaging with sequels (eg. Jurassic Park Trilogy - buying the 2 pack, then JP3)

Or

Wait until a trilogy set is out, and buy it is special casing, or in the same packaging style (eg. Terminator 3 MAY be like this. Back to the Future is one aswell.)

However, FOX UK is good with DVDs as if it's part of a collection, or a sequel to a movie they've already released on DVD, they try their best to make the new product look the same (such as Star Wars, The Simpsons, King of the Hill, Futurama, Family Guy, etc.). It's the smae with MGM (such as the James Bond Collection - the Die Another Day DVD is reversible, so it can be used as a non-continuing DVD, or added to the James Bond Collection Box, which i got)

For the UK, there probably WON'T be a collectors box as such - it'd just be a box with 1.5 and 2 (with there own indevidual cases) in it. This helps, as when 3 comes out, you can throw away the box. I also think X2's DVD will have "X-treme Edition" banged on the side.
