New resident Evil 2 Info!

With production set to start on Resident Evil: Apocalypse in just over a week in Toronto, IGN Filmforce has posted some new details on the character of Jill Valentine, played by actress Sienna Guillory (The Time Machine). Here's how they describe the character.

Dark hair, 20's, casual clothes. Her striking looks might make you forget what a top class police officer she is. A mistake many people have made before – to their detriment.

The site also says that The Nemesis, the classic Resident Evil bad guy, will appear in the film, and that the creature will look similar to the game. He's described as follows.

Nemesis is described as "eight feet tall and humanoid" with "metallic pipes and tubes grown into his flesh." He is "incredibly muscular, scarred and disfigured" but has "clear blue eyes" – striking reminders of a humanoid past.

Sounds like Milla Jovovich, Oded Fehr, Jared Harris and Sienna will have some work to do in the sequel coming to theaters next year.

Lord Crumb writes in, "Hey kids! Just dropping you a line to tell you all about the upcoming RE2 teaser to be shown before UNDERWORLD this month. Seeing as you guys are the best horror news site out there, figured I'd shoot the news to you first..

The teaser goes something like this:

A young woman sits in a chair in the middle of a blank white room. It plays like a commercial you'd see on TV. A female voice over starts to talk about the effects of aging as the camera moves in on the woman's face. While the voice over talks about aging, the woman's face starts to show wrinkles. More and more wrinkles show and the woman becomes older and older until she looks very elderly. We then see a shot of a product which will help fight aging. It is made by The Umbrella Corp. The "commercial" ends with the voice over saying "Some side-effects may occur."

I was emailed more info from my "Emerald" friend. Apparently the film has two film groups, where one has finished in Europe and are headed to a little town next to London where they plan to do a lab scene and the main one in Toronto where most of the filming is done. Spring of 2004 is said to be the targeted release.

According to Film Jerk, Resident Evil: Afterlife is going to be the third film in what could become quite a long franchise. Film Jerk writes, "We just posted tonight the first script review for "Resident Evil: Apocalypse," an in-depth look at the plot and characters that will be seen in theaters sometime in 2004. Also, we have an interesting little bit at the end-- where the direction seems to be heading for the third installment, Resident Evil: Afterlife."

Yeah, I saw Underworld and saw the teaser. It had footage of RE1 in it. The old lady turned into a zombie when they said "Side Effects May Occur". The Zombie looked real different than the originals (You only saw the face). It was cool IMO.

Alice was put through the Nemesis program aswell, and it made her have "Super-Human" Strength and Speed ( think Albert Wesker from the Video-Games ). Hense all the needles in her body, and the Umbrella-Corp.-Logo on the door of her room in the Hospital at the end of Resident Evil.

I remember reading somewhere that Anderson was trying to stay as true to the game as possible, but still be enjoyable for the non-players to enjoy. I have a few friends that have never played the game and they loved the movie. I thought it was excellent on how he made play out 7 hours before the first game takes place.

Its this bit that ruins it for me....The Nemesis is tall and giant thats what makes his scary...And the veins were really cool looking...I just hope these changes to metal dont make him too Uber-Jason like....

So am I the only person that hated the first movie? It was just a bad action movie. They obviously didn't put a lot of thought into the script. no your not the only person. im with you. but i still want 2 see part 2. i have faith. i also i like zombie movies so if i help throw in money, it s that much closer to making the movie get good box office numbers. So in the future we will see more zombie movies. If you ask me RE 1 is the reason zombie movies are coming around again.

Besides scoring eight new images from the set, MTV had all sorts of goodies and spoilers for you Resident Evil: Apocalypse fans out there. Even though the sequel isn't hitting theaters until October 1st, it's never too early to get caught up in the hype. Paul W.S. Anderson's sequel stars Milla Jovovich, Eric Mabius, Oded Fehr and Sienna Guillory. Read on and beware of spoilers!

MTV reports some of Milla Jovovich's interview, "At the end of the first movie my character survives by the skin of her teeth and she enters this city, and it's completely destroyed, and we don't really know what's going on," a parka-covered Jovovich explained on the set between takes. "At the beginning of this one we pick that up and we see the back history of how the city became deserted, and we meet all of the characters."

"Nemesis has a helicopter gun that he uses as a hand gun," Milla explained excitedly. "There's this scene in a hallway where I'm running from the Nemesis and he takes out the gun and shoots at me. And literally, it's the first time anything like this has been filmed. It fires like 1,500 bullets a minute."

I like the idea of Seeing the backstory of what happened to Racoon during the time Alice was unconsious, I think it will be a great contrast from the peacefull city, to the hell thats left after the zombies start appearing.
Also the Nemeis (which we have yet to see properly) is sounding pretty cool, sounds like he has a minigun and uses it like a handgun, the guy must be huge...Im actually beginning to have faith in this sequel

Well He did have a rocket launcher in the game that he used for quite a long time, IMO that scene will be maybe an early scene with him in, Maybe he only uses it for a few scenes

The one from The Commentary is like, more of a household products kind of commercial that they made. But it does look like it could be the same one, seeing as there isn't any new footage from Apocalypse in it, just the last scenes of the first.

You know what i just want to say this.... why the hell is Alice and Jill togther in this movie. They never meet in the game and sherry is way older and not blond. Also Dr. Ashford , isn't he introduced in REV? and he's the dead farther that was experminted on too? He would be dead before he was even in there during that time period. And plus they are at a school where they first met when i saw a pic of them 3 togther. Isn't sherry saved by Leon and Claire not Alive and Jill. The movie script is totally not going by the book, or by means game. But all in the end I guess it would be fun to whatch. Even if they mess up the story twice....

No matter what, the Resident Evil movies have a somewhat originallity to them. The first movie was an original prequel, and the sequel is going to be somewhat new for everyone. I'm glad they're not directly making the video games into a movie with the exact same events, because that would be boring. It's like watching one large cut-scene in the video game, so what's the point in that? Also, I read in a script review at Filmjerk.com Reviews Resident Evil: Apocalypse Script (http://www.filmjerk.com/nuke/article616.html) that whoever this girl is, is supposed to look like The Red Queen. No, Alice and Jill don't find Sherry, but Alice isn't even a character from the games, so don't complain about that. She's an original character. And that's not supposed to be Sherry Birkin. It's Dr. Ashford's daughter. :p
