I read somewhere that the guy that did music for SS and CoS stopped, does anyone know whos doing it this movie? Just curious...

But from what Ive heard about Alfonso Cuaron's movies, I wouldnt be suprised if they had Christina Aguilara make the soundtrack o.O

John Williams is still doing the music.

According to IMDB, he's also on board for GoF and OOtP. (Of course, IMDB isn't the most reliable site anymore)

I'd still like to see Danny Elfman take a stab at them. He's much better than Williams when it comes to "dark" music.

Williams is a busy guy, especially this next couple years:

Star Wars 3, Indiana Jones 4, Walter Mitty, Jurassic Park 4, HP 4 all scheduled for 2005.

I think this time Williams will actually be more hands on with the music by actually conducting.

The music done by John Williams, he was helped in writing it. In this movie, you acually see him "write" the music by himself. He has gotten at least 40 some awards in diffrerent places for his movies he has conducted. I am sure he will do a fine job. I have read in Star Wars Insider that he loves composing the Harry Potter movies.

lol, i think john williams is one of the best modern composers in the world and i hope he does ALL the harry potter movies

Definitely. His music is beautiful. Am I thinking of someone else, or did he do the LotR movies? I can't remember...

LoTR was composed by Howard Shore.

John Williams does all of Spielberg's movies now. A lot of George Lucas' movies, too (well, at least Star Wars).

I guess I'd say there are only three people capable of doing the Potter music well.

John Williams (obviously)
Howard Shore (hadn't even thought of him until I saw what else he's done)
Danny Elfman (this guy does dark music better than anyone - Sleepy Hollow, Nightmare Before Christmas, Batman, Batman Returns, Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice, and he's doing the remake for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory)

John Williams does beautiful pieces. I'm looking forward to seeing his work in POA.
