I just read from a Coming Soon article that TL2 is pretty much dead and I must say I'm very dissapointed. The reason being because of Sep 11. Now I like all people find Sep 11 to be a horrible thing but I believe that a True Lies movie could be easily done without any major references to terrorists etc. I think Hollywood is taking this whole Terrorist idea out of hand. There will always be Terrorists and there is no point in trying to pretend they dont exist. I can undertsand that it may be out of respect but are we going to let these terrorists affect us this much?

Its like World War 2, and the Nazi's. Movies where still made about world war 2, many about as serious as True Lies. They were not considered to be in bad taste. Why now are Terrorists considered to be so. I pretty sure that I would love to see a True Lies 2 with or without Terrorists.

How does everybody else feel about Terrorists and movies? Would you see a True Lies if they could do it without Terrorists?

As much of a tradgedy as terrorism is I dont agree with any movie being changed/not made because of it

Totally would see TL2. Love the first one. I hate the idea that a movie is not made b/c of Sept. 11th or any other reason. (terrorist or otherwise) Remeber what they said after it happened, "if we change the way we live b/c of the terrorists' actions then they would have accomplished their goal" DONT LET'EM WIN! MAKE TRUE LIES 2! damnit!

I heard a rumor that there was going to be a Rambo IV where we see bulletproof John hunt down a Bin Laden type character in the Middle East... I think I'll be leaving that one on the shelf...

Stupid reason not to make the movie.

I'm really really pissed to hear this news that True Lies 2 isn't going through because of reasons like this, first of all, September 11th was 2 years ago and I understand how some movies at the time were hesitant to come out, obviously.

But two years down the road, thats just nonsense to me. That whole thing is over, we went over there kicked some ass, and now things are better. Movies shouldn't be watching out who they offend, because movies have been offending people for a really long time but that's never stopped movie makers.

I guess that's their decision though, whatever they want, but it's not smart to not release a very high anticipated movie like TL2. But again that's their decision.

And Steve, I hear ya bro ;) Ugly face, nice bod

Hmm, there's sooo much wrong in those opinions, I won't even bother trying to say why.

The first True Lies was done well, and well thought out as it approached the idea of Modern-day terrorism quite well. James Cameron does indeed have a good way of getting to the mass market with his ideas. It certainly made a lot of people (mainly Westerners) think about the likelyhood and ease of which such an act could be commited.

As for canning TL2 on the basis of 9/11, that's absolute rubbish and is just catering to the state of hysteria the Hollywood buying public is being subjected to.

if that is indeed the official reason TL2 isn't getting made, then its stupid. after 9/11, we need a movie like TL2. where the american spies kick the terrorists asses for even thinking about attacking our country. as oppossed to real life where we have no spies worth a damn and our military bombs afganistan for weeks only to miss osama every damn time.

personally, i believe that the real reason TL2 isn't being made is because the "king of the world" is STILL big headed about TITANIC and won't get off his ass and make another feature length film.

i reckon, if u surveyed ppl in the US, they'd like to see a TL2. Everyone knows its not real and its all good fun. TL was an action comedy not a drama. I think political correctnesss has gone too far.

I agree with moving on in the movies after Sept. 11. Terrible tragedy, but I don't agree that there will be this massive boycott or huge group of offended people if a movie about terrorists is made. They completely changed Sum of all Fears from middle-eastern terrorists to Germans to be more politically correct and I think it really hurt the overall appeal of the movie. I am not personally worried about Nazi Terrorists starting some war with Russia. Give me a break. Tell it like it is or don't tell it.
