I just picked up the Pirates of the Caribbean score today and it is AWESOME!!! Ok, so there's some obvious 'The Rock' influences, but this is one ballzy, bold and powerful piece of work.

I love Klaus Badelt!! :)

The 2001 theme is of course a true classic.

On another note - does anyone else find John Williams' music to be incredibly boring? He's capable of pulling out a few good themes here and there (The Imperial March, Indiana Jones Main Theme, Dual of the Fates) but I find the rest of his music to be sooooooooo dull!!! I don't think he's all he's cracked up to be :(

Does anyone else think that??

Top Gun with 'Eye of the Tiger'

Top Gun had The Danger Zone. Rocky 3 was "The Eye of the Tiger"

Raiders of the Lost Ark
Psycho (all Hitchcock movies have great music)
2001 (I would've loved to see it if Stan chose Pink Floyd instead of the classics, but the classics are still great)
The Empire Strikes Back (gotta love the imperial march)
Jurassic Park (can't get the damn thing out of my head most of the time)
Jaws
Batman (another one that can get stuck in your head for weeks)
The Phantom Menace (It's hard to beat the Duel of Fates)
The Magnificent Seven
Star Wars (love the Force Theme)

Dual of the Fates is awesome. Bout the only Williams peice that doesn't have any cheesy elements to it (in my eyes of course :) )

In no particular other than the one in my head...

Star Wars "Force theme" - John Williams
Star Wars "Main titles" - John Williams
E.T. "Flying theme" - John Williams
Black Beauty "Theme" - Danny Elfman
Indiana Jones "Raiders March" - John Williams
Moulin Rouge "Ascension"
Schindler's List "Theme" - John Williams
Jaws "Theme" and "Barrel Chase" - John Williams
Harry Potter "Hedwig's theme" - John Williams
The American President "Theme"

I've seen John Williams in concert with the Boston Pops many many times, and it always a thrill to hear the composer himself conduct his wonderful music. On several occasions film has been shown, such as the ending of E.T. or a Star Wars montage, with the score removed, and the orchestra provides it live - such a treat. He has done wonderful work.

i do, but he's generic, his music works with any movie, you could take the soundtrack from jurassic park and switch it with star wars and it would still work.

Without question, the best movie theme of all time is The Ecstasy of Gold from "The Good the Bad and the Ugly" -- it's the scene where Tuco's blindly stumbling in the cemetary to find the grave with the gold in it.
