FUNNY or STUPID?

All right...I've seen a number of threads about "guilty pleasure" movies. In this thread, I'll post a "controversial" comedy every once in awhile. These movies are ones that are borderline funny vs. just plain stupid. Your job is to post which side of the spectrum your allegiance lies with the movie. Just indicate "FUNNY" or "STUPID" and then back your opinion up! If it becomes obvious rather quickly what the general public thinks of the movie, I'll move onto another one. If it's close, we'll tag a movie with whichever side of the opinions (Funny or Stupid) gets 10 votes first. The point of all this...you'll learn whether your sense of humor is in line with everybody else, or if you've just got a really strange sense of humor...

Kung Pow is just flat out STUPID. Half the time, you don't know what they're saying. Even though the theme of the film is parodying old martial arts films, it just doesn't work. Now I won't sit here and say I've seen the whole film becuase it's sheer stupidity made me change the channel on many ocasions. I'm pretty sure I've seen at least an hour of this "comedy" though. Not one thing was funny about this movie. There were absolutely NO JOKES. The only thing I found amusing was his fight with the cow. It's a shame that the only scene I found interesting was one that was ripping The Matrix. This film bombed for a reson. It was just stupid.

Btw, you might want to put up a poster of the movie so everyone can be sure what it is.

By an extremely slim margin (10-9), JACKASS has been declared FUNNY. Wasn't quite sure about the last vote from Nightbringer as I don't quite recall the scene he's talking about (perhaps I've forgotten). Anyways, this was definitely our most heated competition thus far as the stupids came rolling in fast, but were slowlyl overcome by the funnies. Needless to say, this was definitely a movie the masses appear to be split on, so I think you can all feel secure regardless of which way you voted. For the sake of this thread, I'll be declaring the winner in such situations as the first side to get 10 votes.

Next up for the gauntlet is a movie that is currently being discussed in the forum that also seems to be strongly polarized. Let's see if our thread confirms this:

Eddie shows a little life with a 10-3 victory for THE NUTTY PROFESSOR on the FUNNY side. A little surprising that this one was so one-sided, but I guess the Hercules scene is pretty damn good.

SNL has resulted in a few good comedies on the big screen (i.e., Waynes World) and a few not so great ones (i.e., The Ladies Man). I'm guessing this one falls somewhere in between...whaddya think?
