Getting my first DVD player, which DVD should i buy first?

Which DVD, should i get....which DVD, is the perfect one to start my collection?

Was thinking LofR FotR and Matrix.

Just buy whatever you want. It won't matter. I guess if you want to start off with good stuff, I'd get FOTR Extended Edition. Great movie, video, sound, and tons of extras.

T2 : Extreme Edition or Ultimate Edition
Best Video, Best Sound, Best Extras is the way to go!!!!!!!!

I got my first DVD player last year for Christmas, and my first dvd was LOTR: FOTR EE, a great choice!
But whatever makes you happy, almost anything looks good on dvd.

Not that I'm recommending that (I'm recommending Casablanca Anniversary Ed. & Brazil Criterion Ed.), but the reason it was the first DVD I bought was because it was a new movie I hadn't seen at the time, and I just was wondering if DVDs were all that they said they were.

Huh? There was no Matrix Special Edition. That project was scrapped a long time ago. You must mean the The Matrix/ Revisited 2- pack.
