Anyone else a fan of these guys? I bought their new album, De-Loused In The Comatorium, today and I'm completely blown away by how great these guys are. The lead singer is from At The Drive-In and Flea, from Red Hot Chili Peppers, plays bass on this album, while John Frusciante, also from RHCP, plays guitar on a couple songs, I believe...
I don't even know how to describe that why do... prog-rock? Thrash? Metal? They can be melodic, hard, funky... they'll basically blow your freaking mind!

SWEET DADDY.
i don't usually bring up bands that are as great as mars volta because most of the kids around here seem pretty happy listening to their evanescence. i don't think they're ready for bands of the mars volta caliber quite yet.
with that said, yeah, the album is great. being an ATDI fan i was happy to see the lead singer doing his thing.
deloused is a good album though and i dig 'em.
I was just about to start a thread on this band, but it looks like ya beat me to it ;). My friend just let me borrow their new cd, and it's been getting better and better after each listen. They blow Sparta out of the water in terms of originality. I'll definitely be keeping up with this band in the future.

Yeah, it definitely gets better with each listen. I'm offcially addicted to the singers' own unique version of singing...

Tis band used to be called 'The Drive In' Right?
Yeah, At the Drive In. They spit up a few years back. Half of them formed Sparta, an emo band, and the other half formed The Mars Volta.

Cool, the chef at my work just gave me a tape of At The Drive In the other day, they rocked!
But not quite as much as Chamberlain do! :)
