It wasn't a barebones edition. It was actually a pretty solid edition. 1.5 was better though.

yeah i hope this X2 DVD is the final DVD, cause i don't want to be screwed over with a X2.5

I don`t think there will be an X2.5 (Singer said on X1.5 that he doesn`t like to do dvd`s like that). But if there will , then I think it`s just gona be the same thing with trailer to X3 and making of X3 feature. :)

the cover for the X2 looks good, but why in hell do they have the credits in the front. It's like they didn't try at all on making a good cover for the dvd. It's like they just slapped the poster right on there
Rocketboy
07-14-2003, 07:20 PM
I'm guessing that it's probably unfinished and they just used the poster to give an idea of what it'll look like.

All I need is the X2 DVD. I think X- Men 1.5 was just a cheap cash- in. It was basically the same as the original X- Men DVD but with a Behind- The- Scenes look at X2. All the other "extras" it had aren't even worth mentioning.

The "enhanced viewing mode" also has an hour of great material.
I can't really see your comments on it being the same. It has the same movie, yes, but everything else is different. Besides trailers and concept art, they don't share any of the same features. Not to mention 1.5 has a much better menu.

Kinda like what they did with LOTR: EE
When they first announced it on the site they just took a green cover and slapped the logo from the film on the front. In actuallity they made a cool new logo.
I hope they take out the poster credits on the bottom and just put the three main stars (Might be hard for X2, however.)
Oh well. Is 1.5 good at all. I almost bought it the other day but when the choice came i bought The Addams Family (Great Flick)

I typed 'em out once and posted them on a different forum. Can't find it now...

.....found it.
Since the deleted scenes and 17 behind-the-scenes featurettes can only be viewed by clicking little icons through the "Enhanced Viewing Mode" on the new DVD, I figured it'd be nice to make a listing of all these clips with the time code you can go to to access them easier. The time code goes [hour:minute:second]
I doubt too many will care, but here goes:
DELETED SCENES- for the sake of it all, I'll just be using the titles of the scenes used for the previous release.
1. "Storm's Lesson (Expanded)" [00:27:16]
2. "Logan Spies/After Class" [00:29:51]
3. "Love Triangle (Expanded)" [00:36:33]
4. "The Walk Home/Cerebro" [00:38:22]
5. "Xavier & Jean" [00:49:47]
6. "Orders" [01:09:05]
BEHIND THE SCENES CLIPS- I made up the names here to give you an idea of what the clip feature/where it comes up.
01. Poland 1944 [00:01:39]
02. Senate Hearing [00:06:38]
03. Cage Fight [00:11:08]
04. Battle in the Snow [00:20:15]
05. Magneto's Lair [00:25:23]
06. Xavier's Office [00:25:23]
07. Magneto Tests the Machine on Kelly [00:34:02]
08. Senator Escapes [00:42:42]
09. After Using Cerebro [00:47:42]
10. The Train Sequence [00:51:18]
11. Stand-Off on the Steps [00:55:13]
12. The Attack Plan [01:08:38]
13. The X-Jet [01:11:30]
14. Liberty Fight Sequences [01:12:53]
15. Liberty Interior [01:18:03]
16. Wolverine-Sabretooth Rehearsal [01:22:45]
17. Chess Game [01:33:10]

It's only 6 months from the release in theaters. I think they learned their lesson on the X-Men DVD. They released it 4 months after it came out in theaters. That edition wasn't too great so they had to make X-Men 1.5. I think this time they want to get it straight the first time around and not have to release an X-Men 2.5. At least this one will be a 2 disc edition with more "X-tras".

08-14-2003, 10:37 AM
I hear that, but Matrix is coming out a month earlier and so is Hulk, both movies were released after X-men.
I liked how on the first x-men movie you could branch the deleted sceens, i wish they would do that in this one. I could see it taking 6 months if that were the case, but Daredevil had good features too and came out 5 months after the theatrical release. Oh, and I want DTS like Daredevil got, that dvd has some great sound! :waldo:

...awesome...
Explain something to me though, if they already have press release dvds out, why will it be another 3 months for consumers? They pretty much did the same thing with Daredevil, they had reviews up months before it came out on DVD. What's Fox up to?

I'm guessing the discs are already pressed or can be, but they're waiting to release it at the most profitable time.

Uuummm......the X2 in the set is exactly the same as the stand-alone. So, in fact, you aren't passing on it at all! ;)

Yeah, I wanted it to look like the poster also because the poster was perfect. This crap they are putting on the R1 release is similar to the X-Men 1.5 cover, though. Maybe thats why they did it.
