rumour has it that since its been a huge success on adult swim, FOX and Cartoon network are looking into optioning new eps, and Seth Macfarline says that since the DVD was a huge seller, a straight to DVD movie could be possible
i would love to see FOX pick it up again (the only reason it was cancelled was because of ratings, but it seems to have picked up a new audience, so ratings shouldn't be a problem anymore)
i just hope they could get the same writters and cast back, if it was picked up again
Yeah, I never watched it until Cartoon Network started airing reruns. That show is hilarious.

the only reason it had bad ratings was cause fox moved it around so much, and when it finally found a home, it was on opposite Friends and survivor

This show was canceled for the same reason Futurama was canceled. STUPID FOX TIME SLOT SHIFTS. If you never know when it is going to be on, how can you watch it? Stupid crappy Fox....

Fox is moronic, yet they amuse me. Maybe because they make fun of themselves so often....:p
Kris Hodgson
06-16-2003, 04:55 PM
Yeah. They let the Simpsons writers trash them constantly, so that's cool. At least they've got a sense of humor.

Definitely.
That, and the advertisement for Joe Millionare, where they were like...
"....He's not really a millionare....I wonder who would give them that idea..."
and then they flash FOX in big bold letters:funny:

family guy was and always will be the funniest cartoon in the world, i use to think simpsons was but after seeing family guy and the "600 hundred chicken fajitas" episode i was hooked.
i just bought the DVD of the episodes and love it, and with the commentary and everything it brings it all back.
i dont know how FOX could have done this to such an awesome show. the sense of humor in it is something that either people dont get, or people love, personally i was one that loved it so much. everything from the jokes you had to think about to just the fact that brian can talk. i love everything and it will be missed.
if it ever comes back it will be a miracle and get people away from watching all that damn reality.
please return to us family guy, please return...........

apparently (and these are just rumour) Macfarline has said when asked if family guy will be back
"i think there might be a little FOX in family guy's future"
so i wonder if fox is planning on bring FG back as a mid season replacement, or maybe he's refering to the planed movie?

Just thought i'd let you guys know planetfamilyguy.com (http://www.planet-familyguy.com/) (the best FG site on the web) is reporting that Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation have registered the domain familyguymovie.com
Here's the story (http://www.planet-familyguy.com/) :
familyguymovie.com - Family Guy Movie Update
Has a Family Guy movie got a future? Well it certainly looks like Fox are seriously entertaining the idea. Planet Family Guy has received several e-mails pointing out that Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation have registered the domain familyguymovie.com(check the whois for this domain). (http://www.whois.net/whois.cgi2?d=familyguymovie.com)
While this news doesn't confirm the movie, it certainly provides a clear indication that the movie is under consideration. We will of course continue to bring you the latest news on this.
as mentioned in the article you can check out the whois.net page for the domain

Just thought i'd point out this good rating news from thefutoncritc.com (http://www.thefutoncritic.com/cgi/gofuton.cgi?action=newswire&id=6039)
'Family Guy' Breaks One Million In Adults 18-34
CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- The Tuesday, June 17 telecast of Cartoon Network's "Family Guy" was the most watched program in the history of the network among adults 18-34, reaching 1,056,000 viewers in the category. It also set a new record for best-ever delivery of adults 18-24: 650,000 viewers. Such performances helped vault the series into the top 10 in adults 18-34 among all ad-supported cable networks for the week of June 16-23.
The news was just another milestone for the animated comedy as the series broke its previous record by 156,000 viewers (5/22/03). Combined with "Futurama," which also landed in the top 10 in adults 18-34 for the week, the former FOX series posted triple digit gains from Cartoon Network's numbers last year:
-- Monday-Thursday, adults 18-34 delivery (837,000) grew by 306%, and ratings (1.3) by 333%.
-- Adults 18-24 delivery (467,000) increased by 349%, and ratings (1.7) by 325%.
-- Men 18-34 delivery (615,000) expanded by 591%, and ratings (1.9) by 533%.
-- Men 18-24 delivery (348,000) ballooned by 452%, and ratings (2.6) by 420%.

So FG is selling really well on DVD, the Cartoon network is getting huge ratings for reruns of the show and general buzz for the shhow has never been bigger
FOX needs to open its eyes and realize now is the time to bring it back

best writers in any animation series. funniest animated show ever. why is it not on the air? Fox. they opt to air shows nobody watch. like king of the hill. how is that show on the air and the family guy isnt? i just dont understand. family guy is 10 times more genius then any other animated show; including the simpsons. simpsons was the best in the early 90s when conan was a writer. but i dont find it funny anymore. family guy never let me down.
