I've seen two, one fanmade out of earlier glimps (call it trailer if you want) and a Ea games with a lot of spoiling glimps wich I call trailer. It´s very nice :P Then I have a weird old trailer wich contains things I haven´t seen before. Here you can have a look at a march in mordor and moore. Very nice :)

Are you talking about the very old teaser trailer, which aired before The Fellowship of the Ring. Is it the one that had all three of the films and their release dates.

I've been reading on TORN that a trailer won't be around until September. Of course no one knows when its coming out. T3 would be preferable to me.

We've received this information from Ringer Spy Ringer Rocks. I saw the teaser trailer in New York at a convention last week, at New Line Cinema's booth. I asked the nice folks manning the booth when the public might see it, and he told me to expect it at the end of the summer. This might be putting gasoline on a flame, but I just thought you all might like to know. And by the way, it’s GREAT!

We are trying to follow this up with various sources, but it tends to support the previous report from spies across at TORC that we wouldn't see a trailer until September.

I still say July, I would be shocked if they waited till September. It would not make sense, the teaser is done, it's showing at the licensing convention in NY. All they have to do is make more prints for theatres.

In reading your post Fable, I just realized something else: Like you said, the release if a teaser in September is too close to the opening of the film. Which begs this question, would we only one and only one trailer. If they released two and started in September, they would have to begin working immediately on another one for November, less than 2 months. It would be like they are force feeding us ROTK, that is the last thing we want.

Oh BTW, here is better quality of the E3 teaser in .rm format.

The teaser actually on a dvd and CD-rom that comes with a german gaming magazine called GAMESTAR. The music you here in this version is not in the actual E3 teaser, it turns out that one of the "genius :rolleyes:" editors did commentary through out the entire preview. His face actually pops up in this clip. Also, you would think that people who work on a gaming magazine would have the know-how to rip a vid off a CD-ROM or dvd, this genius :rolleyes: recorded it off a tv using a video-cam. It still is decent quality.

You what I think the most frustrating thing is??? It's that we all know that the teaser is done and that it is being shown in NY at a convention, yet NEW LINE continues to keep quiet, and we hear speculation that it won't be public till September. That is frustrating.

It really hurts me because I gave you all the news, I broke the story when work on the teaser began and when it ended. Now it is out there and none of us can see it. I feel really bad.:(

I really hope that news is true about it being attached to T-3 but i"m afraid I've heard more bad news. This was posted on theonering.net. :

A-films (the Dutch distributor for NewLine) has just announced to their relations that the trailer will be no earlier then September, but a teaser poster will be availiable in July. They quote NewLine:
"The decision has been made to release only one trailer for ROTK but to make it the most "kick ass" trailer on screens this September, laden with spectacular special effects and powerful emotional elements. The exact debut date for this trailer will depend on how quickly Peter Jackson can finish the sfx shots so for the moment it's a floating trailer release date, as early as the beginning of September, but no later than September 26th. "

I really think this makes absolutely no sense whatsoever

Obviously they will want to make the main trailer the most 'kick-ass' as they describe it, but that wouldn't need to be released until mid-October surely, therefore allowing time for the inclusion of virtually any SFX shots they want.

The teaser however doesn't need to take anywhere near as much time or attention, in fact there's already 1 out there that most of us have d/l in 1 form or another. Furthermore they're putting upto 10 mins worth of ROTK footage in the August 24th release of TTT.

You simply can't have just 1 trailer, not coming out until September for what is the conclusion to 1 of the biggest and most anticipated movies of all time. It's madness!

I agree: Once the trailer hits allot of people will be satisfied beyond believe! The spaming is in large parts done out of frustration, and with a new piece of film out there everybody will chill for at least a month! :) Then again: It should cook up again a few weeks before December 17th, but not in the way it's done now: Dec 17th is a SET date! It's nothing like the 'on-off-on' release dates that went with the trailer, and irritated so many people..

a suggestion for the mods: when someone creates a new thread, get the computer to search through the threads that are currently active in this forum, and if there is one on the same topic, tell them to put what they have to say in there, rather than make a new thread. it would take a bit of work to get the comp. to search through the active threads in a forum, but it would take some stress of the server with less threads active at once
