yes, but as far as making our children competitive in the foreign, international open market, they don't stack up as well as kids from other countries do. we need to change our approach, as a society, if we want them to be able to keep up. this board is a wonderful example. look at how many people we have from norway, Singapore, denmark. we have people from all over, and they can all communicate at a fluent level. i would like that for my kids as well.

Also they hired a new composer for the score, they didn't like the first person, so they fired him and hired James Horner. (Wise choice, he is good at epic film scoring)

i loved speaking french, but i think i would encourage them to learn spanish, just because that would come in handy here in CA.

we have a lot of people come here from other spanish speaking countries. people that are bilingual, always make more money.

Also the score is yet to be done. But so far they are on scheduel (how do i spell that...?)

I don't know, it depends on how good the film tells the story.

No the release date was not pushed back, I think it was still filming when SAMURAI came out.

I guess you are reffering to BP BD and BA... they might be hard, but i think it is a top contender for costumes, score, special effects and sound. Maybe also makeup (but i doubt it..)

filming for pirates 2 dont start till end of this year, early next year really depends on johnny and orlandos schedules, especially with johnny maybe getting signed up to sin city, cause that will push back the filming of charlie and the chocolate factory, which iwll in turn push back the rum diary, which will then push back the filming of pirates 2!! its a very complicated issue

i'm actually a little sad that they're remaking this movie. it is a classic. couldn't they come up with something original? did they have to take a much beloved picture, and do it over again??

Gene Wilder was brilliant as Willy... the whole cast.... there's something "off" in this to me.

The most depressing thing of all is I've sat back and realized the difference between me and my friends even though we are all so alike - they have lives. One of my friends has a Girlfriend, so there's his reason to actually go to School. And my other friend pulls a 4.0 and more than likely will graduate all of High school with that.

What do I have? A little brother whom I can't stand, a father who I'd rather not see and a Mom who has her moments but generally I don't even like to talk to because I enjoy not being bored.

you're right, you're only a soph. for god's sake. this shouldn't be the weight of the world on you. figure out what you can do to make it better, figure out where you screwed up this time.

What do I have? A little brother whom I can't stand, a father who I'd rather not see and a Mom who has her moments but generally I don't even like to talk to because I enjoy not being bored.

we can't pick our family, god knows i wouldn't have most of mine (i dont mean mark and the kids).... i limit my time with them, and i keep it strictly on my terms. always. you wont have to deal with the bro or father in much longer. i hope your relationship with your mom keeps up. she might seem more interesting as you get older. we can't always be with our kids, as we are with our friends. we feel we have to set ourselves a little apart in some ways, to keep the position of authority. you will be on more of a balance when you are older.

having a girlfriend/boyfriend actually puts a lot more pressure on you. i say stay single and enjoy it for as long as you possibly can.

it sucks, big time, to have gotten grades less then what you were hoping for. is there anything you can look at, and say, "ah! that's where i ****ed up? did you turn in your homework, ever cut class? how about test performance?? some people can know the subject, but dont do well when being tested.

But I am able to take comfort that she will get better and will be a stronger person when it is all over.

these are the times that try a man's soul. we have friends that are hurting, both here, and in real life.

it's the worse feeling in the world, sitting back, and watching a friend fight these battles. There isn't much we can do for them. Except be there for them when they need a shoulder to cry on, or a hug when they try to push away from us. the only thing, the best thing we have to offer, is our unconditional support. i have to believe that being there for them will be of some comfort.

when the computer had a melt down last october. i lost everything. i was so sick to my stomach, i couldn't go on line for almost a month. i'd been working on a project for just over 3 yrs, that i didn't have properly backed up. one of marks best friends is a Sci-Fi writer. (published) he liked some of the stories that mark showed him, against my wishes, and he offered to get me in touch with his publisher if i ever got serious about my writing. it took me along time, working through some different stuff, but i finally started. i worked on it for about 3 yrs, and i was up to roughly chap. 8 when i lost it all. it was such a searing pain, i didn't know if i'd go on line ever again.

i noticed last night, when i sent an email to a friend, the address book looked strange, but i was really tired. i'm hoping theres just a glitch or something.. i do not want to have to recreate it all over again.

I know the majority of it is allergies and I can't take my medicine for that because of another medical condition so I have to suffer them. I'm stressed about registering for classes and I'm behind ecause I took time off to try and re-enter the world after Daddy's funeral..I work too much, I sleep to little.

If the saber fights in the film come at least close to that, not just in a skill way but in an emotional way, ep 3 will so awesome.

One thing I really liked was that, it wasn't just saber to saber combat, but also hand to hand combat. Which Nick Gillard said in a hyperspace chat, the "duel" would not just be sabers, but also hand to hand combat.

Yeah I saw the 'leaked video", I remember seeing them beating each other with their fists and kickiing each other. Ijust hope that the enviroment will affect the way they fight. It can change the entire way the fight happens if the combatants use their enviroment against their opponent.

even if you don't really feel like hanging out with anybody, is there a pretty, or quiet place you can go to, to just sit and relax?

i live near a beach. some days when i'm very frustrated, i grab a frozen yogurt, and drive over there and sit and watch the ocean. i could do that for hours. i never get tired of looking at the water...

I have no places like that. The beach is 35 minutes away from me. There isn't really a quiet place, except for my bedroom. I LOVE to sit and look at the ocean. The waves are truly calming to me. I could do it for hours to. Escpecially at night.

I ENVY YOU....

unfortunately, i don't know what the rents go for down there. (i'm about 3 1/2 hours to the north of l.a. (and 3 1/2 hours south of san frans.)

have you tried looking on line? check the web site for any big newspaper, and you can check their classifieds.

no. i didn't. which pissed me off just a tad... (business came up, stuff with the rentals, and business comes first...) *sigh*

but... to make up for it, i got to have a hot date last nite. ;)

with my husband..

(and both kids were there two)

ok, so my definition of "hot date" sorta sucks, but what can you do?? ;)

we went to my *FAVORITE* restaurant, Tahoe Joe's and had an *awesome* dinner... very very nice. came home, (i had to run to walmart at 830pm, because i forgot rachel needed plastic eggs for school this morning, but by the time i got home, the kids went to bed, and mark and i sat on the couch and watched tv. it was romantic. ;)

Im just so worried about taking out a huge loan for college. I mean, i have such good grades that i can go to any state university in florida for FREE....but i want to go to film school...IM SO CONFUSED

flukeman
04-08-2004, 11:47 PM
I had that problem LoK - I could have gone free to a state college in MA, but I had to go with my first choice which was elsewhere. You need to go with what you feel is right for you, and it might take extra work and money, but it will be worth it in the long run if you are doing what you want to be doing.

flukeman
04-08-2004, 11:48 PM
Apply for all the scholarships that you can, anything you can get helps. A lot of schools have workstudy programs too, which helps defer the cost of a loan.

LordofKings
04-08-2004, 11:50 PM
I will do that. LA FILM SCHOOL, NY FILM SCHOOL, OR FULL SAIL (all places i might go, if i can get accepted) are alot of money and they give out scholoships, but not much. Considered room and board, labs and such, im looking at about 30-40 grand.

Its a huge risk and i need more time to think about it, but my mind is so set on what i want to do in life, that there isn't much to think about
