i'm not sure if i want him to so much of an individual, that he's ostracized from his peers. it can make school a very lonely place. he can be sensitive as it is. i don't want to add depression on top of that.

have you had a chance to give her your support, or are you going to wait awhile, give them some space?

For the the past days (Fri, sat and today), the only people who are at the house are family. Thats it.

I did send a little flower aragement, to let them know I am thinking of her.

I think ALL friends, are giving the family space right now. Which is the way it should be.

i'm so sorry for your cousin. it *absolutely* sucks that "grown ups" have to ruin things like this for the kids.

we have contracts that they make the parents sign, before the start of any sport. it says we'll behave properly, not smoke at any events, not swear and not badger the umps or refs. i wish it was enforced. we've had our fair share of nasty episodes. i'm really proud to say the the coaches i've been associated with have been able to rise above the small mindedness of some of our competitors.

you were right on the money, when you said the coaches and parents are just trying to live through their kids. most of the time, they weren't good enough, so they're trying to make their kid the jock/star that they never were. sad. sad. sad...

I've never been that mad in my life. That coach was a big black man but I would have fought him. He probably would have beat the hell out of me but I would have tried for her.

No, I dont have any kids, but there are enough in my family, and I used to work with school aged kids (all grades) to know a little.

And of course I used to be one myself. :p

All it takes is a fair adult to help them out, and not all coaches are like that(as you know), hopefully your sons will be one.

well, if he's got a group of friends that care about him, and they accept him, that's all the acceptance from his peers that he needs. we all remember from school that there were people who we just do/did not like, but that always happens. it is a balancing act, keeping the friends he's got, but not eliminating hops for different friends in the future. if he wants to ba a individual, and his friends don't accept him cos of that, it's showing who his friends really are. but you, as his mum, have got to watch out for him, and make sure that he doesn't do things like that

i'm familiar with that emotion...

i like to compete.... doesn't matter much what.. ping pong, air hockey, softball.. if i play, i play hard, i play to win. if i lose, i suck it up and i'm a good sport (unless i've just lost to mark in air hockey, and then all bets are off, because he's a very poor winner.:p ) so, i can take it, win or lose, i'm ok...

but mess with my kid?

you will bring a seething wrath of terror down on your head.

(we did have one ref fired last year for unsportsmanlike conduct. it was just amazing what he pulled... what he said to our guys, it was just unreal. our boys (rachel was cheering for that squad) still won, but that's only because they were a killer team...)

we also have trouble with two leagues that we place against. they're just a lot of little gang bangers, and their coaches are always sporting fresh ink from prison (yes, prison tats look different, yes i can tell) we have to watch our backs at those games, and no one goes to the parking lot alone..

honey, you'd never be snide. you're too direct. ;)

i worked for two years at the same State Prison that my husband works at. (he's been there about 18 yrs.)

while i worked there, they made us (even tho i was in records) take classes, all sorts. on self defense (that one kick ass!) CPR, and tons and tons and tons on gangs. what to look for, what symbols go to which group, which groups are friendly, which are fighting.... you can tell at a glance, at guys walking in the yard, what area they went to.

and when we go out, mark is constantly quizzing me... "see that guy, what do you think???"

prison tattoos can be very beautiful, but they're also a little cruder. there's no color, and they often have a little tale-tail signature to them...

i really liked my job, and i made great money. walking in the yard with the inmates (on our way to lunch or on break) was a little unnerving at first, but we got used to it. there were catcalls and stupid junk, but never any real trouble.

well, once there was, but that was more on the dogwalk we had to use to get into our building...

the inmates will try to get to talk to you. you can respond or not at your own choosing. this one inmate kept trying to get me to talk to him, he was being very pushy about it. it got personal and verbally abusive. very crude. they call it manipulating staff. (they try to guilt you into responding) he was right up to the fence, and walked the whole way down. I complained to the cop at the gate, but he was pretty much useless. when i told my supervisor, she knew just who i was talking about. she got on the line with the cop that ran the dorm this inmate was in. the Sgt. and the cop had a very personal *up close* conversation with the inmate.

(i knew the sgt. and the dorm cop, and they both knew my husband)

the inmate never bothered me again.

(also one of rachels friends from school was signing up for the first time. her mom was talking to missy, but she kept addressing questions to me as well. she put on her ap she wanted Gina on my squad... )

i don't know what missy was thinking, she didn't say anything, but i bet she wasn't happy...

Yeah, she was a total sweetheart. For her birthday the entire family (myself, brother, mom and dad) got her or actually paid for days at disneyland. So she has 4 total passes to disneyland. 1 for her and 3 for whoever she wants to take.

She invited me, but I declined and told her to take her friends.

I didn't hear that, wouldn't be suprised whenever you film in Morrocco, actors tend to get ill from the food.

It's true though, if you talk to any actor who filmed a movie in Morocco, most say they got sick during the first days of filming.

The queen has been talking about THE ROCK, while shootong THE SCORPION KING in Morocco, he got sick as well.

(i'd been there a year or so earlier with my girl scout group, but i was too tall to go on the kiddie rides. and no adult would take me on any other rides. it was a total rip off. i remember being very pissed. stomach fly symptoms, body pain, headache.

Yeah, BUENA PARK.

The reason it is getting popular again is because of course LOTR.

oh holy crap. i haven't' thought about RBION in forever... *snicker*

yeah the prices might be better, but they didn't have as many fast rides. that's changing though.

they had one called, "extreme scream"
oh. my. god.

you go straight up. (i didn't know until later, when i asked the attendant how tall~ its 37 stories) (if i remember it correctly)

your sitting in a little booth thing, your feet dangle down. (not supported.)

you shoot straight to the top. then just sit there for a minute. you are taller then any thing for MILES.... then you hear a little sound (no, it's not the sound of grown men crying, but that's only because they're too scared to make any noise.) no. it's the sound of the air brakes ... letting go....

the attendant also said it uses hydraulics to "pull" the bucket to the earth faster. i asked her why??? why mess with gravity. gravity works swell for everyone else, but not them. oh, no! they need it faster then gravity..

about 8 or 9 yrs. ago... mark and i were there during the week. it was off season, and the park was closing at 6:00.pm

there was *no* one at this park. it took longer walking around to the front of the line, then any actual line. we never waited more then 3-5 minutes. in all the yrs. i'd been going it was the fastest time through.

we went on every ride, about 6 or 7 times. colossus... man... just over and over....

revolution.... superman.... batman.... Viper.... over and over and over....

we ended up leaving the park at 5:00, an hour before the park closed. i just couldn't "do" any more rides. that was a first for me. the park had never beaten me before that day. ;)

Open the door and let your love come down
Over the wall, you're spinning 'round and 'round
'Cause you wanted some love
I'll make it happen

'Cause I don't wanna break
Your fine face. I can't take
The way you wanna wrap me up
Inside your smile

Open your heart and let the good stuff out
Water me girl and let me ease the drought
'Cause you wanted some love
I'll make it happen

'Cause I don't wanna break
Your fine face. I can't take
The way you wanna wrap me up
Inside your smile

I can't be gone, darling
For very long, no
Never know what you're gonna do
Standing there deep in front of you
Take a look in between my eyes
Because I'm back, yeah

'Cause I don't wanna break
Your fine face. I can't take
The way you wanna wrap me up
Inside your smile

I can't be gone, darling
For very long
Never know what you're gonna do
Standing there deep in front of you
Take a look in between my eyes

Give me a chance if you can force yourself
Look at me girl and get up off your shelf

Lord Brock, I decided to go up to "THE RANCH" in the fall, I don't want to miss CANNES this year.

DUDE, I found something working in the Library this morning(I'm the T.A......what an easy job) and it blew my mind. I came across a copy of THE ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE INTERVIEWS: 1967-1980. It absolutely made my morning.

If you read the interview, you can see a lot of ties to Almost Famous, such as the lead Guitarist not really up for the interview that much.

When I first heard about VAN HELSING I thought it sounded badass. Now, from the 2 trailers I've seen I'm getting more and more skeptical about it.

And I must see Kill Bill vol. 2, for several reasons. One is that I am a huge Tarantino fan, another is that KB vol. 1 was my second favorite movie of last year(it was right behind ROTK, very close!), and oh yeah.....Kill Bill vol. 2 is my most anticipated movie of this year. Even more than Spider-man 2 and Troy and The Incredibles.

The festival starts the 12th of May and ends the 23rd, I will probably stay till the 18th perhaps, it depends on what the programming is.

Actually, I will not be on the only LOTR connection at CANNES, TROY will be screened I believe the 13th, so Sean Bean and Orlando (if he is not busy with his new film KINGOM OF HEAVEN) should be there.

The reason is that there is no set date yet for pick ups, so I don't to be waiting around waiting for a date to be set while CANNES passes by. LFL says summer, well summer could be may, june, july, august.

It is based in the time of the crusades, Orlando portrays a peasant who becomes a knight who falls in love with a princess I think.

that's a pretty solid cast. i like both liam and jeremy quite a bit.

i wonder if orlando is at all worried about being type cast. he keeps doing these "period" type pieces... wont they be making the sequal to POTC soon too?

You can do it!

Until the break of dawn
Life, Life, and I quote by the letter
Time, Time, Prozac can make it better
Noise, Noise, any kind will do
Can you feel it slip away, well it's all on you

Crime, crime, rockin like Janet Reno
Time Time, 18 and life in Chino
Void Void, all along its true
Well you see the coming day catches up to you yeah

Knock down the walls
It's alive in you
Knock down the place
You're alone it's true
Knock down the walls
It's alive in you
You're gonna keep your head up through it all
You're gonna bust out on it
Original Prankster
Break out yeah
Original yeah
Bust out ohh
Original Prankster
You'll never stop now, stop now, that's what the main man say
You can do it

You know it smells like ****, goddamn
Tag team, the double header
Son of Sam, fire always makes it better
Navigate with style and aplumb
Cos wherever you are at that's the tip...

Lies lies, says he's stayin at the Bahamas
Tries tries, and you little hoochy mammas
No way, none of this is true
Well you see it coming down when the joke's on you

Knock down the walls
It's alive in you
Knock down the place
You're alone it's true
Knock down the walls
It's alive in you
You're gonna keep your head up through it all
You're gonna bust out on it
Original Prankster
Break out yeah
Original yeah
Bust out ohh
Original Prankster
You'll never stop now, stop now, that's what the main man say
You can do it

Hey
You can do it
Time, time, so cool to see ya
Nine, nine don't wanna be ya
Dime dime, so cool to see ya
Nine, nine don't wanna be ya
Crime crime, fine sensimilla
Crime crime, fine sensimilla
Crime crime, fine sensimilla
When you see the coming day catches up to you yeah

Knock down the walls
It's alive in you
Knock down the place
You're alone it's true
Knock down the walls
It's alive in you
You're gonna keep your head up through it all
You're gonna bust out on it
Original Prankster
Break out yeah
Original yeah
Bust out ohh
Original Prankster
You'll never stop now, stop now, that's what the main man say

Today on the way back from seeing WALKING TALL, my sister called my up on my cell and asked if I was listening to the CD player or radio, I was listening to a cd at the time (MUSE to be exact) she told me turn on the radio and go to one of the station both of us listen too, then she hung up, then the next thing I know I hear her voice on the radio dedicating a song to me, A SWITCHFOOT song.

THANKS LIL SIS!!

Perfect song she chose too. It kind of went hand and hand with everything that has been going on.

And I didn't think the coasters could get more wild and dangerous.
