She needs someone and I'm all she has. I'm confused, I'm hurt, I'm angry, I'm lonely..I've run the emotional gamut since last Thursday because I don't know what to feel. The DARK TOWER books are freaking epic. The shortest book(so far) is 305 pages, and the rest get to 500 pages each! And there's 7 books! Though only 5 of those 7 have been released so far

i'm sure you are a great comfort to your mom. there will be days ahead where things will seem to get better, only to have something happen, like running into someone that doesn't know about your dad, and you'll have to explain all over again. i think that was one of the hardest things for my mom. as long as you know you don't have to be strong by yourself.

There is one more tribute I will do in honor of Rogue's father.


It is a "surfer's tribute."



In Hawaii when you ride your first big hawaiian wave, you are given a type of necklace which has little arrowheads all the way around. It given by one of the tribes people. The tradition is that when you lose someone dear, you paddle out in the ocean, wait till sunset, take off one of the arrowheads and throw it into the water and let it go. You could do this in tribute to any one, not just a fellow surfer.

I know it may sound silly, but as a surfer it is dear to me and I take it seriously.

yes, she met billy.. (snicker) knowing my friend, that was a foregone conclusion. what she *didn't* know, was that billy wasn't the only hobbit there....

too bad today isn't St. Patrick's day, because i'm sure green with envy.:p

i just finished reading about my friend that went to the House of Blues last night, where she did in fact, meet *both* Billy and Dom...

since she's friends with the band, she was one of the lucky ones pulled to the stage.

(this is a snippet from her night)

When Keith introduced the surprise guest (Billy & Dom) the crowd went absolutely INSANE!! I mean WOW!! Fame is scary. Billy sang Fisherman's Blues with the band and did an AMAZING job. I know he impressed the guys in the band.

Billy, Dom, their friend David and I went to the stage right wing. This is when the fun began. I walked up to Billy, grabbed his hand and said, "Excuse me, but I have to touch you or my life is in danger. I have at least two friends that will murder me if I am this close to you and don't make physical contact." He laughed, grabbed BOTH of my hands, kissed them and asked, "How's that?" Then we stood there for a good 15 minutes chatting and he never released my hands. Ummm, yes, it is good to be me. After I explained the entire Dawn/Mel stories to him, he called Dom over and told him to touch me too. I got a kiss on the cheek from that adorable one. Billy, was charming. Absolutely CHARMING. When I told him Dawn informed me that it would fine if I woke her (and David) up at 3:00am he laughed and said we should do that. That began the cell phone sage ... I'll go into that in a minute.

i don't want to reprint her post entirely, but she goes on to say that the cell phone reception sucked, and Billy was totally cool, trying to help her leave the phone messages. she said they had to try several places, none of which worked, but Billy never gave up. what impressed my friend so much, was how cool he was, and how willing he was to help her. they were finally able to leave a message on her own voice mail. I will get to hear this on Memorial Day Weekend at the renaissance faire in Glen Helen Park. (san bernardino area). I'm truly happy for her, but jeeze... (oh, she said Dom's grin is *devastating* in person. I KNEW it!!! )

perfect, not too much cinnamon... just right. thanks~ ;)


(cinnamon or nutmeg (just a pinch) can really add a little zest to all kinds of foods. i use them in sauces and veggies (especially spinach) goes great. you want to be careful though. too much is not a good thing. :)

Who was Doug Hopkins?

Doug and Bill Leen played in several Tempe bands together before forming the Gin Blossoms in 1987. Doug was the Blossoms’ lead guitarist and primary songwriter—he wrote almost all of the band’s early songs, including Hey Jealousy, Found Out About You, Lost Horizons, Pieces Of The Night and Angels Tonight. He was no slouch as a guitar player either—it was mostly Doug and his pearl-white Gibson Les Paul that gave the Blossoms’ their distinctive sound. Doug’s other claim to fame, unfortunately, was his drinking, and when the band went to Memphis in 1992 to record New Miserable Experience, things really started to fall apart. The other four members of the group voted to fire him after the album was finished, and the split was anything but amicable. But Scott Johnson replaced Doug as the Blossoms’ lead guitarist, and Doug went on to start another Tempe band, The Chimeras. He was still battling problems with alcohol and depression however. Sadly, he committed suicide on Dec. 5, 1993, not long after Hey Jealousy had earned a gold record. He was 32. (See also: Biography, Articles & Interviews.)

they sure did. and there was a story on the front page of about 3 newspapers today. the title on one of them was pretty much "Jackson saves Hilton's life" but after reading the article, all he did was make Paris Hilton was ok when she got out of the pool she fell into. and he had this to say to her (cos she was rather embarrassed) "well, at least ya shoes are clean"

this just shows how much the media will bend hte truth to get ya to read the article.

i also saw a photo of all the oscar statues on a table (all the ones that ROTK one, for all the people) and there were a HUGE amount of them. was really cool

i remember reading in our scandal sheets (i think it was my E! online link) about Paris taking an unexpected dip. i'm sorry. there was a small part of my mean little heart that had to laugh at that. (not nice, i know)
