You know what would be funny? If something like this happened:
*walks up to the girl's door*
*rings doorbell*
*She opens door to find JEDI and Orlando Bloom standing there*
Orlando: Is this her?
JEDI: Yeah this is her.
Orlando: Frodo was right, she really isn't all she is cracked up to be.
JEDI: So I guess we're done here.
Orlando: Yup.

i'm not trying to pry or butt in, but "great friends" don't do that to eachother.
it wasn't nice. i think its very mature of you not to lower yourself to the level of leaving nasty messages (something that never upsets the person the message is left for *nearly* as much as the person leaving it, plus it lets them know how much you're hurt)
you're still attracted to her. it was a brave thing to do. i think it's *so* much harder on guys, because typically, you (as a gender) still do 99% of the asking out. it's a big deal to put yourself out there, willing to risk rejection, whether it's on the dance floor or for a saturday night date.
i hope she realizes what she's done wasn't cool, or at least has a damn good reason for not being where she said she'd be.
good luck!!!

and while i know that more and more girls are doing the asking out, it still falls more to the guy. it sucks.
but then, there are a lot of issues that come up boy/girl wise that aren't too fair from the girls perspective.

that good old fashion "double standard"
it's been around since god was a boy, and certainly was going strong when i was a girl.
you guys can do things, and get a label of "player" if a girl does half, she's a slut. she faces being talked about (even if the stuff isn't true), and her reputation is ruined. just how many guys have you ever heard of having their reputation ruined because he was to "fast" with a girl... see my point?

you usually find it on most ren. faire sites, different recipes or combinations, and it (if made right) is nummy good. i put it up tonight and have to gently stir it every few days... can't wait to see if it worked.

Yeah, he said that his family came and they wanted to watch the oscars, of course Viggo does not own a TV. So he had to call a friend and go over there.
Now Viggo does not like to attend or watch award shows. So at his friends house he went into the guest room to try to take a nap. Though the tv was loud and he could hear everything. So he said "I'll be a man and go and watch the ceremony."
Even more important than that, HE STOLE MY LOOK! SILVER TIE! WHAT IS GOING ON KERRY? ;)

Just got back from THE PASSION....
Great movie. Best ever? No. Most violent I've ever seen? Not really, the Violence was kind of overhyped in it's own way. But was it a good and powerful movie? Yes it was. Did it change my beliefs? Not really, but the message was good. I had this debate in the car ride home about what the final message of the film was. Was it 'start believing now'? No, I don't think it was. What I got out of it was to love one another and have tolerance. Atleast that's what I got out of it. Respect thy neighbor doesn't mean you have to do this under a shadow of religion. It's a good set of moral codes to have.
Love and respect another and we all should be good :)

Thank you. Maybe that's why I'm not a huge organized religion follower. In the end it all becomes jumbled with the 'follow this religion or you'll spend eternity in a blazing lake of fire'. I think somewhere along the line someone lost the point of the entire STORY:
"The world would be a good place if we learned to respect one another"

yeah, scheduling can be a #itch...
i wonder if it's going to be any different this year, because the faire that the Pattersons run (SANTA BARBARA) has moved it's dates from july to may... now they cross over. there are a lot of guilds and craftsmen that used to do both venues. not sure how it will work this year.
the pattersons are the ones that started the very first renaissance faire back in 1963. in fact, phillis has the term "renaissance faire" copyrighted or something. that's why other faires have to use slightly different names "pleasure faire" and the like...
the pattersons put on a *great* faire. (this *is* one i work at, but it's still play, it's just on a time schedule) ;)

Before 2002, the last we went was in 2000. Again dressed the same, maidens and rangers. It was interesting because everyone was asking about my ring (the ring of barahir), now this was 2000 and TFOTR was still a year away and all there was were trailers out. actually, if i remember right, we have more faires here in CA, then the rest of all the other states combined. we have over 48 active faires. (but most are just one weekend faires, and are consider "soft" (non permanent fixtures.)

"HEY, YOU'VE SLEEPING WITH MY WIFE!" :hehe:
Now that I have ANDURIL and I have a sheath for it, I want him to say it to me now, that way I can unsheath anduril and let the sword do my talking for me. ;)
*snicker*
funny english accent... love that..
i know you were kidding, but, you *do* know that it's a "peacetied" faire? meaning you can bring your weapon *in* but it has to be tied and secured so that if someone (usually a druck) were to try to pull your weapon, that they wouldn't get it. the security at this faire has gotten *really* really strict over the last 3 yrs. if you don't have it tied the way they like, they'll do one (a plastic crap job) for you... not fun.
was this guy towards the front of faire? they have a lot of guilds working that area.

Yeah, I know it is "peacetied."
Yup toward the front. He also wears this funny round hat. :)

It didn't change my religion, but it made me think. I had this huge ass debate in the car ride home about the film. I settled with "who cares if Jesus really was the Messiah or if he wasn't, he spoke one great friggin' message!"

Kerry, last night on the history channel, they showed THE TRUE STORY OF HIDALGO. It was all like we talked about on how no one can really confirm the story of Frank T Hopkins.
Interesting stuff.

i don't think i know the person, but i've heard something close to that in the past.
they have some *great* guilds working there... *so* much fun to play with.
i *love* working with the puritans...
we flash a bit of ankle at them and get them sputtering...
i play (at the faire we work) an irish lass of dubious reputation. i get to take my character with me when i go to different faires, which is really cool, because i have fun being "kate"
(some faires have a clause in their contract that states that any character you do for them is forbidden to be portrayed any place else, which sucks just a bit)

i've found even more web sites on the stuff. there are heaps and *heaps* of groups out there, just *not* happy this guy is being made into a hero.
i'm still looking forward to seeing it.

i wish i'd seen what the HC put out. i'll have to check to see if they repeat it.
i watch/taped a really good one the other night on billy the kid. i haven't seen it all yet, just a few glimps, but it should be good. i've always wondered about the kid, after reading the book by Bushy Bill Roberts, the guy from young guns II, that claimed to be the kid. he made some interesting points.

I love the young guns films.
Yeah, that Brushy Bill Roberts thing had me wondering.
I would love to go to Lincoln County, NM.

the whole problem with determining the truth, is that there are people that have a very good reason to keep lying. there was no way in hell that the surviving relatives of pat garret were going to give up the "honor" of being the one that brought billy the kid down.

People would say:
WHAT?!?! NO!! I HAVEN"T!!!
My response when he came to me was:
"You mean you are just barely finding out, my lad?"
Even though he is older than me and I still called him "lad."

did he have a ready comeback for you? they usually try to find if someone will play, or talk back with them. if you respond like you did, it's usually a signal to go the next step.

i love it when you find a good patron to play with... just makes the day.
it's fun having your picture taken too. i'm lucky i'm good with accents. i have it from a woman born and bread in ireland (she comes into the shop i work at part time) that my speech has a bit of the northern to it, and a goodly amount of cork. (which shocked the crap out of me, because my mom's family (both on her mother and fathers side~did i mention i'm *very* irish ;)) came from cork. who knew?

It is fun. After the archery contest, there was this presentation and every stayed in character, so I played along.
This guy playing the "KING" said something to the effect of "Here is your prize, my lord archer."
Then "where you did U aquire such skill?"
So I decided to do a line from a film called THE MUSKETEER. :hehe:
I said "here and there."
He must have seen it because he gave a reply that was in the film: "perhaps there, certainly not here." :)
Of course I bowed.

So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell,
blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
And did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?
How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have you found? The same old fears.
Wish you were here.
