i'm sorry. it must seem hard to understand, but us parents have been scared $hitless about the wackjobs that are out there floating around the net. we have to ask sometimes dumb questions. :( my son is much younger then you, but i'm checking what he does all the time. he plays pretty advanced combat games, he's very good, but i *know* he's playing against adults. that worries me, so i keep close tabs. it's not that i don't trust him, i just want to protect him. Just fine. I had to play babysitter today for my little niece. So I took her an IMAX film she wanted to see. It was fun. Actually, I will admit I wanted to see it to. :)

i saw my first preview for "eternal sunshine for a spotless mind" (or something like that)

it's the next movie elijah's going to be in. it actually looked pretty funny.

i was debating whether to see it or not, because i'm not a big fan of Jim carey. (well, to be fair, i like his more serious stuff, but when he clowns around, it gets very tedious to me. theres a difference between humor and desperation, jim always seems desperate to me)

i agree, i bet he'll be great. i just wasn't sure if i could sit through 2 hours of JC to see a little of Elijah. (someone said he had a very small part)

i really like the rest of the supporting cast, kate winslet, kirsten dunst , tom ....

this preview made the overall plot look pretty good.

1. Yes, we STOMPED the other team 73-28, it was the last home game of the year(seems we're gonna finish the regular league play 11 wins and 1 loss :))

2. Of course, my friend 'Zane' was suckerpunched by this 120 pound Freshman bastard. And a golden rule is you should NEVER attack two Sophmores(my friend Zane and I) who are much bigger and strong then you are. I'm usually a Pacifist when it comes to this stuff, but this kid is one of the most annoying people I've ever come across. We were joking with him, I turn around to watch the game, and BAAAM! the kid throws a weak ass punch at Zane. Zane is a big guy, about 6'2 and plays Football. The annoying freshman ran up the steps, and before Zane could get in a decent punch a few select adults pulled him back.

3. Yeah

I don't think Tuesday will be very good for the kid. I would have helped Zane in the 'fight', but in the confusion I stumbled and nearly fell off of the bleachers. My Root Beer was thrown all over the bleacher floor! ;)

i really wish our high school didn't start until 10th grade. (like back in the dark ages, when *I* was in school)

i don't like the idea of 13/14 going to school with 18 yr. olds.

(and no, i'm not thinking about you or your friend, just some of the local thugs we have in town)

our high school is also 9th through 12th. that is, in my opinion too wide an age gap. they should leave the 9th graders with the 7th and 8th grade junior high (or middle school as they call it now)

got to tell you, the idea of my 14 yr. old daughter going to school with an 18 yr. old senior gives me cold sweats.

I understand completely. There ARE a lot of 'lowly' kids my age, but amongst my friends and others in our grade we make SURE that the freshman girls don't get harassed, no matter who by. it's just....wrong. Think of like a protection agency. Protecting your fellow student.

i keep thinking about convent schools, but i don't think she'll go for that. (and we're not catholic. ) ;)

her big brother will be at the school, when she gets to the 9th grade. he'll be a junior. david is 10 1/2 now, and already 5' 6". (actually, that may be outdated now, i haven't measured him in a while)

and he's a total prude when it comes to his sister. :)

my husband took rachel shopping for her swim suit last summer. he let her pick a two piece, but it was *very* conservative. david did not approve.

seriously brock, that's a very cool thing you and your buddies do. it's just as confusing a time for a girl as it is for the guys. and if you have a shy girl, maybe not too confident, it's *very* easy for her head to be turned. those girls are lucky you are keeping an eye out for them.

my husband just says that when ever someone comes to pick rachel up for a date, he'll be cleaning his off duty weapon. that should do the trick.

believe me, it's very weird when we have an argument or something, we're looking much more eye to eye then before.

and we have jokes in the family about the mailman, because my husband is shorter then i am, (but i am really tall, just over 5'10")

rachel, at 8, is just over 5' 2".

There really hasn't been a instance of stepping in to help lately, it's very rare. We haven't exercised our unspoken rights as Upper classmen to 'open up a 6-pack of whoopass' on some dumbass. Lately it's been watching out for the girls of our age. There hasn't been really EVER a case of physical violence, just a menacing stare or two and that ends it forthwith.

But now it's more of helping by giving hints about how to deal with certain teachers Academic wise.

To be honest, I may have scared him off. She is not with him anymore. Which is why I say "my memory is hazy" even to her. She asked twice did I say anything. I just replied, no we watched some TV and I showed him the sword. :)

i'm sorry about the divorce, i know that's a hard thing to go through.

you're a good son. that's just the simple plain truth. you're also showing the kind of man you'll be. very honorable. you make your mother proud. i hope it never comes to an impass with your dad, but i have faith that you'll be able to work it out.

Thank you, and I hope it never comes down to an "impass" between me and my father. That's what spawned me to be protective of women, watching my Father become more and more of an ******* to my Mother. Knocking her down. I got an understanding of hatred towards that at the age of 8, and ever since then I get a nausea feeling at any type of that. So immediately I must step in. I couldn't do anything about it when I was Eight years old, being only Eight!

And now I can, since when my father gets back from Iraq I'll be a good foot taller than he is and also stronger.

wow, brock. i understand a lot of what you're feeling.

my husband's father was abusive to his mom, and to him and his younger brother, but he did more then just pushing. his mom divorced his dad when he was 6 1/2, but she died when he was 8 from breast cancer. he and his brother were *so* lucky to be able to go to their maternal grandparents to live. i can't image what he would have turned into had he grown up with his dad.

the irony is, that after all these years, they actually have a fairly decent relationship going now. the younger brother has nothing to do with him, but mark and he get along really well.

i don't like my father-in-law very much at all, and the feeling is returned. he likes to dominate women, and he can't stand the fact that i'll stand toe-to-toe with him *every* *damn* *time*. we've squared off more then once, and i refuse to back down. hell, to be totally truthful, i probably egg him on half the time. he cowed and beat his first wife, and he's been an overbearing jackass to his current one, i just want him to see that not *every* woman is going to cringe in fear of him. not in this life time.

that's a horrible thing to have happen to your mom, and it's equally awful for you to have seen it. i'm not sure if i believe in hell or not, but there are times that i wish with all my heart that it was real, and that men like your dad, and my father-in-law, and all the other pathetic losers that dare to harm women and children would roast slowly for eternity.

kids that live through what you have usually grow up to face two choices.

1) they either follow in the footsteps, no matter how much they hated seeing the violence, because it's still what they're familiar with.

OR

2) they turn their back on violence, and find different ways to communicate their anger.

i'd bet anything that you're #2.

I wish that were so. Me and my brother are not very close, since he looks up to my father very much. He hung out with my father a lot with my father's house, and I'm sure my little brother toke in all the Propaganda of my Father's 'teaching'. My brother is like my father in everyway(except the violence thing towards a wife since well my brother is only 12), but my little brother looks and acts like him in almost every way.

And then transfar to Film School either in A)Southern California or B)Mt. Shasta and get a degree in Film.

that's hard. but he's still young. he's not mature enough to understand all the ramifications and turmoil that went on. it's just easier for the abuser to blame the victim. they "made" them beat them.

i don't know if your mom's considered counseling, but it's the one thing i wish my husband's grandparents would have done back when they were boys. it would have done them so much good. but they just wouldn't admit to any kind of trouble.

mark and i had to work through *years* of crap that should have been dealt with when he was a kid. (and no, he's never been abusive. not once. but then, i'm much too strong to put up with it even once.)

Meh, my Mom's not bothered by it. I can tell she's enjoying the freedom from my Father, and from stuff I'm sure I never have learned about. So I don't even mention anything of the story, because she IS happy.

I'm happy too that my father is out of the Household and in another town. I myself have gotten this creative drive from it. I feel much more free and happier. The house now is much more laid back and relaxed instead of this ex-Prison guard father of mine.

I *always* bring cookies! ;)

(you boys sure can pack it away, but i'm not complaining. i love to bake, and don't get to do it nearly enough here)

you've got your pick. i have some more of my "kiss in the clouds" cookies, in honor of valentines day. (these are like the russian tea-cakes type cookie, it's a little ball, that once baked, you roll in powdered sugar. the difference with mine, is that i put a Hershey's almond kiss completely buried in the dough before baking. these are omg good!)

or some of my traditional toll house cookies. (still pretty tasty)

i'll leave plenty of both behind me when i leave. :)

AWWWW! :) That's SO sweet, Jedi.

I got a dozen blue roses (how cool is that) from CS' own TyRoss, a beautiful silver heart locket and chain, a dozen pale pink roses from my Dad, a big red teddy bear holding a heart from my Mom and chocolates from my Mom. I also got a photo album of pics of my friend and me along with stuffed monkey from her.

I notice that there are some scenes that maybe weren't really emotional the first few times, but now are emotional.

Like the Faramir and Denethor scene in the white tower. That is tough to watch. You can't help get angry with Denethor. Then when we see that close up of Faramir and he is holding back the tears. It is hard.

Yeah, another scene that took me a while to really understand and fully appreciate like the pyre of denethor, it took me over 4 or 5 viewings to really get it and stop laughing at it, but I now fully enjoy and understand it for it's power..

Just fine.

I went to the parents house, where everyone was. Gave some gifts and what not to my mom and sister, sister-in law. My niece and nephew.

Then we all watched some the NBA all star weekend.

Speaking of songs here's a good one

*Begins singing*

Farewell we call to hearth and hall!
Though wind may blow and rain may fall,
We must away ere break of day
Far over wood and mountain tall.

To Rivendell, where Elves yet dwell
In glades beneath the misty fell,
Through moor and waste we ride in haste,
And whither then we cannot tell.

With foes ahead, behind us dread,
Beneath the sky shall be our bed,
Until at last our toil be passed,
Our journey done, our errand sped.

We must away! We must away!
We ride before the break of day!

aye, you've naught to fear...

i had the king's very own words of caution just last night, and i'll say again,

i'm a a healthy irish lass, what can well handle her liqueur, but have no fear, for i've no wish to be acting silly in front of my king and queen, nor their loyal subjects. :)
