Got in some surfing, we had a storm over here which made for some nice waves, although the forecast says we are warming up again and the storm is clearing out. So waves will go back to normal.

What are you dissapointed about Jedi? Ohh by the way Phil Jackson is going to be on The best damn sports show at 11pm tonight on fox sports net, it should be interesting to hear what he says about the Lakers and the end of their era.

Yeah, I have the channel turned to FOX SPORTS right now.
I am disappointed because, in the review for the extended version of ROTK, i gave some of the dialouge that happens in the film and one of the most anticipated was a line from the witchking, as I did the review I wrote the line down as "Old fool, do you not know death when you see it? This is my hour!"
Today a special preview was released and I got the line wrong, he says Old man rather than old fool. I screwed up two darn words. I had everyone excited because they were going to hear a famous line from the book, well almost the line from the book has THIS IS MY HOUR as the first part of the line, not last as it is in the movie. I can't believe I couldn't remember correctly two darn words. I just feel bad because I know there is alot of disappointed people out there. It's ridiculous. I can remember dialogue from entire scenes, but I screw up on two words. How can I get "old man and old fool mixed up? THEY DON'T EVEN SOUND LIKE EACH OTHER! I just can't believe it. Then just two days ago, someone asked if the line was in and quoted the line fromt the book, I said yes except that the line goes as follows, I gave the line I had written down and full confidence that I was right and then those two darn words came into play.

Everyone has been really great, they say I shoudn't worry about it, it's only two words and that I got the rest correct. I do worry about it, even though they say no big deal, I know they are dissapointed, it's alot of fun hearing lines that are from the book, even if they are altered in a way. Now I screwed up because of those two darn words.

Typical. First time I come here, and nobody's here to talk to. Oh well, guess I'll pour myself some more beer.
(pours two pints of Guiness and Export Gold and sits down in the corner a la Strider, all alone in the dark, drinking silently whilst pretending to smoke some Longbottom leaf, coughing quietly whilst trying to look cool)

my computer had a bad problem yesterday, so we went ahead and bought a new one. it's taken me forever getting the stuff off the old one, and setting the new one up. hopefully, everything will work right.
i finally remembered i had done a short cut to comingsoon on the kids computer, so here i am.
for some reason, on my computer, this screen shows up with the tan background, but not the white window, and there's no 'submit" button.
don't know why....

Yeah, I know what you are saying. It doesn't really bother me too much. I wouldn't let something like that ruin the friendship.
Although, I am not sure if you saw last nights episode, but it seem liked when Dom was camera they purposely shot angles that avoided the tattoo area and when there was a shot that would most likely show it, it seemed another actor was carefully placed to block the view. :D
It was also funny to see Dom almost fight someone.
*grin* i know you'd never let something like this get in the way of friendship. ;)
yes, I got to watch the episode tonight, Mark's step mom and dad were in town, and she loves the show, wont miss an episode. :) :) :)
it was a great one! i was very freaked out about Jack's dad though. wth?? casket empty? eep. gives me the willys.
and do i sense a budding sense of something between charlie and the preggers girl?? "you don't scare me"... that was very sweet. maybe theyr'e just going to try them all against each other, and see where the best chemistry is.
as for him almost getting into a fight... it's the ones you'd never suspect that you have to watch out for... they can be amazing.

Just your basic HP Pavilion...
Problem is I am coming from a windows 98 to this, its very frustrating trying to find things at first (like how to get online lol)
And yes, the updating and downloading of things holds a major "suck" factor.
My next headache will be to try to network the two, to get all my old files on to this one. It will be nice though, this has a 120g harddrive and coming from a 4g it feels like living in a mansion after living in a 1 room shack...no more floppy disks yay!
And of course I already had LOTR in the dvd player, had to check it out!

Hi Kerry and Hi Moose. :) *sips tea*
hey jedi,
i just rewatched the last Lost episodes, and i remembered something that i caught the first time around. in the episode where we learn a little more about Mr. Locke, when he's sitting in the travel guide office, he mentioned something about getting used to something for four years. (i can't quite remember the phrasing) then this last episode, with Jack and his dad, when Kate tackles that jerk (can't think of his character name, i dislike him so much) he flips her over, and said something like "i made this birthday wish four years ago"...
someone thought there would be a conection to all the characters, that there was something binding them together. now i bet it will turn out that what ever it is, happened 4 yrs. ago. any bets on whether Jack's dad operarted on Mr. Locke, but was drunck and screwed it up? Or maybe hit him with his car, (while being drunk) but being a big shot doctor, nothing was done to him?
i love the possibilites!

The possibilites and the questions are endless. :)
What's in the forest?
How is Locke walking?
Why is Jack the only one flipping out?
What's "Charlie" going to do when he runs out of his "stash?" :D

no, i didn't hear that, but i'm not surprised. I did hear that Hawaii was already canceled. (not surprised there either)
:) :applaud: :applaud: :applaud:
i just thought of something else that was interesting...
when mr. locke was talking to jack, when jack said he thought he was loosing his mind, locke told him something like, "well what if who you think was here, really was here, even if that's not possible"... locke knows more then he's saying. do you think there was more to him being in the wheel chair? was he an amputee? it almost looked like that, when they did his flash back, and he was talking on the phone to "helen". (plus he mention the other amputee that climbed that mountain) did he grow his legs back, or just have a spinal injury repaired? either would be impossible, so maybe seeing jack's dead dad isn't so far off the loop.
Kerry from Cali
10-24-2004, 12:15 AM
is charlie's stash the real drug, or what they give to patients trying to kick the habit?
*** i don't mean would they give the actor drugs, but is his character already in drug rehab? i'm not sure of the name, is it something like mescalane?***
and yes, it's so new, it's very addicting itself!

That's the big question. So far we haven't got into Dom's character yet with the exception of that flashback of him on the plane. So hopefully within the next episodes, we will find out what his deal is.

It is kind of like the game RISK, you have little game pieces called minatures. I got him the ROTK pelennor fields set. that is *so* cool. will they stay on location? you'd think they'd have to. it's not like "Las Vegas" where they recreate the sound stage to look like a casino. it's not like you can dupe the ocean that way.

Defintiely they will stay on-location, unless they need a studio for sets for flashback scenes, in which case they would find a place in Hawaii or out here in LA.
Yeah must be rough. :D It's easier for because now that I know they will be filming for a longer period of time down there, I don't have to rush for a visit, I now have time to plan.

has anybody here seen "Team America" yet? Mark wants to see it really badly, but I just can't get any enthusiasm for it. he wanted to take david, but i heard there were some strong scenes, (that's not the kind of wood i want him watching, if you get my drift)
any thoughts?

i kind of liked it when he called him a pretty boy. i bet dom could scrape it up, if he wanted to. there were some pics out of him, from some movie he did (can't think of the name just now) he looked pretty scary. he was a druggie or something, and he had his hands up, and he was getting ready to kick some guys ass.

Ananova:
Jarvis to write Harry Potter soundtrack
Jarvis Cocker has been signed to write the soundtrack for the fourth Harry Potter film.
As well as composing the music for Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire, the former Pulp frontman will make a cameo appearance reports The Sun.
Movie bosses were determined to bring in a trendy British musician after the previous Potter films were scored by prolific American composer John Williams - most famous for Star Wars, Indiana Jones, ET and the chilling theme from Jaws.
But new Potter director Mike Newell wanted to make sure his movie appealed more to a generation of music-mad teens.
He asked Daniel Radcliffe and the other young stars to draw up a shortlist of candidates.
Jarvis may even write the score under the name of his alter ego Darren Spooner - a goth-rocking punk image he invented for himself last year fronting a band called Relaxed Muscle.
Jarvis will be responsible for picking additional music for the film and has already chosen Franz Ferdinand to appear and write a track.
A source said: "Everyone here is really excited about Jarvis being involved in Goblet Of Fire.
"He is a very talented musician who is a big fan of movies and knows exactly how they work. You may just think Jarvis is the bloke in specs who fronted Pulp but he is a man with many hidden depths."

It seems almost that WB are pulling to "pull in the teenage crowd" - after POA failed to surpass the usual extremely high money standard of the last two films, it looks like WB are getting nervous and wanting to bring in the "cool kids". Maybe that's just me.

Its not just you. The majority of people going to the movies these days are teens, but in the wrong age bracket of HP. I hope they are not going in the wrong direction.

me??? spoiler-free?????? NOT GONNA HAPPEN. heh, by the time the show gets on screens down here, i'll probably know the mystery-stomper/cruncher's starsign. have been scoping the lost forums like mad since the second-half of the pilot ep. but for some reason i keep coming back to TWoP. must be the krazy sense o' humour those kids have that really clicks with me.
have to consider, at what point does the all-night become (yet another) lost cause...is it when you are literally propping your head up on the stacks of textbooks and case summaries just to keep one's eyes in line with the screen; is it when your attempts to stay awake (like posting in forums then constantly updating for replies) becomes the sole task you are able to complete with any regularity. unlike, say, blinking. or breathing, for instance. or is it when you start spamming friends with vaguely obscene emails, just so they gain some insight into the mental torture-regime you are currently operating under. all these questions and soooo many more..........

With the spurs I think we need to have a solid performance out of Chris Mihm and Lamar Odom. They should be the ones to defend against Tim Duncan. Obvioulsy Duncan will get his points no matter what, but if Odom and Mihm can contain Duncan, the lakers have a shot.

I try to get to as many concerts I can. Next month I'm driving 2 hours up to Portland to see Green Day. Next week I could be going to see Les Claypool(arguably the greatest bassist of all time...band: PRIMUS) at a local theatre. Not many bands come to Eugene, so travelling to Portland is the more likely.

It really all depends for me. There are certain little things on the mixing/production of an album that I really like(like the adding in of say, a xylophone during a really silent part) that a band doesn't do on stage. But a CD will never match the energy of a well done live performance.

Agreed...what made the Beatle albums so revolutionary were the layers of sound...Phil Spector had his "wall" of sound, but the Beatles (really George Martin) introduced little "snippets" that turned their music into a mind-blowing collage...
Still, one Hendrix or Cream concert outdid all the Beatles albums...but that's just me :D

I haven't acquired "SMILE 2004" yet, but I want to. I've only heard good things so far, except for that Wilson's voice has gone down over the years. Understandable, it'd be pretty hard to sing in falsetto for 40 years. ;)

Wilson truly is a strange guy. I own the Pet Sounds remastered CD and in the "story of Pet Sounds" he and McCartney are born 2 days and one ocean apart. Both play bass. Both are extremely influencial to music as we see it today(though a lot has been lost in the translation ;)). And yet Wilson literally went insane from his art form.

I was never a fan of post-Beatles Lennon. After awhile he became one of those guys you wanted to tell to basically "shut the hell up." The term 'blow-hard' comes to mind, like he loved the sound of his own voice. I actually liked some of the post-Beatles stuff McCartney did, such as WINGS("Baby I'm amazed", "Band on the run").

I'm still sticking by Lennon being has best when he was with The Beatles. He and McCartney basically had contests to see who could write the best songs, and it all went to the Beatles(this can be attributed to why the Beatles were a non-stop songmaking machine). I read a Rolling Stone interview he did shortly after the Beatles broke up, and he basically came off as a primadonna.

Let's not get too hasty about breaking anything yet - being a Sox fan, you have to realize that anything is possible and we're very used to heartbreak :) I'm hoping the lunar eclipse will have a good effect on Boston though. I believe MJ had to sell them back due to his recent financial difficulties. Anyways Im not sure about the legal ins and outs but I do know that he has already released Let It Be in a new version without producer Phil Spector's orchestral and choral arrangements. You see, Paul never like what Spector did with it but John and George did. Now that Paul is the only surviving important Beatle, he can do as he likes. For example trying to change some of the songwriting credits from Lennon/McCartney to McCartney/Lennon. Coming soon is a new version of Sgt. Pepper complete with a new cover with the walrus and rocky racoon added to that famous audience picture and improved barnyard animal sounds in "Good Morning, Good Morning" and apparently a whole new song too.

While my Guitar Gently Weeps is a catchy rock song but what the hell does it mean? Some eastern philosophy I guess. Actually that song was one of my favorites on the White album the first time I heard it but after a lot of listens is one of my least favorite. Something is a great ballad. Other than that....yeah he didnt contribute much else unless your a fan of Sitar music. I really cant choose a favorite song and narrow the beatles down to one track. Instead I choose albums. Sgt.
