Which of the 20 bond films to you think has the best ending? Yeah, i know they all end with bond and the girl in bed, but i'm talking about the final showdown were bond kills the bad guy and saves the world

Best ending to a James Bond film EVER:
Peter Hunt's ON HER MAJESTYS SECRET SERVICE......sure it had george Lazanby but tyhe story is arguably the finest of all the films and the ending for me is the undisputed champ.
Of the Endings where he blows up stuff and gets the girl THUNDERBALL for me. YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE is a close second.

OHMSS. no question. it has everything bond films are supposed to have...it does everything right...then it does what you would never expect from a bond film...it breaks your heart.

OHMSS.
As for the fight, I liked Goldeneye...it was brutal, and personal!

i really liked the ending in moonraker just cause it had jaws in it, but how funny was it watching all those astronauts having space fights!
but seriously my favorite ending would have to be goldeneye clearly cause its one of the best bonds of all time (behind goldfinger). Anytime you have a person who knows bond personally and hates him, its a great ending.

I think that Licence to Kill as the best ending, purely because it's about revenge and justice for what Sanchez did to Felix, it was more personal then the other Bond films. After the brilliant truck action sequence, Bond and Sanchez are almost killed after the truck tips over leaving them both battered and bruised, Sanchez is first to his feet, grabbing Bond before he's had a chance to recover and just about to slice him up good until Bond whips out the lighter and toasts his baddass. Brutal and gritty and it isn't spoilt by some cheap line of humour. Plus I think that Bond chooses the right woman in the end.

agree, i just watch LTK the other day, and its the one bond film that gets better with each viewing
Dalton gives an amazing performance, too bad he didn't come back for Goldeneye :(

It's a shame because Dalton is my favourite Bond and I would have liked to have seen him play Bond more than twice but the legal issues resulting in a 6 year period ended the chances of TD returning. Pierce has done a good job with Bond.

The worst part is that dalton was asked to return for GE, but he turned it down feeling that to much time had pased.
what's even worse is that Dalton was up for the role in OHMSS, but turned it down because he felt he was too young (although Lazenby was about the same age).
And another thing that is bad is that Dalton should have been Bond in AVTAK but Moore convimced EON to bring him back for one more film.
Dalton could have been bond for alot more than 2 films, but i guess it will never be (unless he could return after brosnan leaves)

You mean 2 films ;)

While Dalton was a good Bond... I would still rank Connery, Brosnan, and possibly Lazenby ahead of him.
I did love the ending of LTK though.
But for the answer to the thread topic... I would say that Goldfinger had the best ending.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service, followed closely by Thunderball.

the ending to thunderball was terrible!
the whole movie was great up untill the last five minutes. that stupid sped up fight scene with terrible special effects, and that dumb plane idea. How on earth did they get back to earth after being pulled from the plane?
the only good part was when Domino shot Largo.
I think Dr. NO, FRWL, and TSWLM have nice endings, for different reasons.

I agree on the sped up scene, that was pretty poorly done, but with the plane that would work and was actually a used method to retrieve marines or whoever may need it. After being caught on the front they could wheel them in...or something

Yeah, I was meaning the part when Bond and Domino are whisked through the air, not the whole boat speeding up. That was terrible.

TOMORROW NEVER DIES!
STAMPER=INVINCIBLE!

again, I thought the ending of tomorrow never dies.
because somewhere between their escape from torture, and the final piece of film, the damn movie turned into Arnold Swarzennegers wet dream.
from the moment they stepped onto the stealth boat, the movie turned into a lame action movie with mindless, over the top explosions, and people running around with machine guns in each hand shooting at everything. I hated that.
