ok the chances of an studio even touching the preacher comics is very unlikely but if u were gonna make who would YOU cast????

but i have been racking my brain to think who could play herr starr, saint of killer etc. so please help!

Well, I thought it was already known but anyway.... Preacher is gonna get made with James Marsden (cyclops from the x-men) signed to play Jesse... AND the script is written by Garth Ennis himself :applaud: Production is tentatively scheduled to start in June :)

PREACHER is my undoubted favourite modern Comic series.......the thought of a film makes me drool until.........James Marsden the man has all the pressence and acting talent of Tom green- every scene he featured in X men 2 was laughable, one of the worst actors I have ever seen.

This is definetly the worst news I have heard in a long time, at least Garth Ennis is penning the film so it may still hold my interest.

Really hope they go with the second series as the movie script, James Marsden under a swamp in a coffin would bring a smile to my face.

I have to agree with the majority here. Garth Ennis writing the screenplay is very cool, but I can't see Marsden pulling this off.
I remember seeing that picture of ArseFace a while ago, and it looks amazingly like the comic!

The first 12 issues made up the series "Gone To Texas"

The second series of twelve made up the story "Until The End Of The World"- this is the one to make into a film- find out about Jessies childhood and also contains a riveting present time narrative too.

if i were making the movie (god willing some day i may be) i would make a trilogy and use all the comics and do the whole story especially the 'War In The Sun' issue

Oh Jack Palance!! I hadn't thought about him. He's still kicking I'm pretty sure. He'd probably be easier since I heard the budget is a measley $22 million.

As for Tulip it needs to be someone that is pretty but isn't perfect. And can be mean as all hell but also soft and sensitive.

I also heard Arseface might get cut. Sad. Arseface was a great character, but he really isn't neccesary.

He looks like he could fit the part really well, but they would have to age him up a bit.
