[Citizen Kane]

Whilst I was away on my trip, I thought up some poetry about the posters. Perhaps it could become an on going thread.

FRIZZO THE CLOWN:

Thwack thwack thwack...
Frizzo makes these sounds as he whacks (off)
IMO, he should get some tact (and a room)
Why is it that Frizzo performs these self-gratifying acts?
I'll never know 'cause I'm afraid to ask
For Frizzo I'm sure it's fun-
A mating dance for one

These days, we could use someone full of
humanity
life
elegance
Rogue is
a supernova
a candle in the wind
a rose among flowers
She is
a Southern Belle

Down and out, she'll lend a hand
When your mad, she will care
The sweetest girl in the land

She's a friend, with heart and soul
A funny chick, she'll cheer you up
A real good friend, she breaks the mould
Need support, you know where to look

Southern

She's a beuty, with real good looks
If I knew her, we'd be good mates
She likes good movies, and maybe books
to have a chat, it's never too late

She is mysterious, but thats a charm
so quiet and sweet, she shields her heart
she posts with elegance, her soul is calm
being a friend, she makes an art

Just a couple for the guys I consider the special people to me on the boards!:)

What you are about to read is a poem I made when I was sitting in my room during an early summer thunderstorm, contemplating my recent break up with someone who was very dear to me. I hope you all like it.

A Bright And Shining Lie

I sit alone this summer day
The tears roll from my eyes
Her love for me was nothing but
A Bright And Shining Lie

Sitting on an empty bed
where once we both did rest
I miss her flowing unbound hair
and warmness of her breast

It seemed at first, our love rang true
our spirits held aloft
Her eyes that shined like crystal pools
her voice so smooth and soft

But my love was not enough
another did she want
betrayal left me spiritless
so hollow and so gaunt

Could she not see the real me
and see my feelings too
Could she not see my love for her
and know it was so true?

I may never ever know
why things like this occur
From now on I shall look at love
as nothing but a word

And now I rest my weary head
The Lord my soul shall keep
And on this day I'll pass away
Forever will I sleep

And if it is that I should wake
I hope my heart would mend,
for now it seems that I am doomed
and this is now the end...

I get pretty intense with poetry sometimes, and I cover a wide range of emotions. If my depressing bent bothers some of you, please let me kow and I'll stick to happier subjects, OK? :)

Actually, your poem is a haunting and moving evocation of the pain of lost love and betrayal. And there's no reason for you to limit what type of poetry you post here. Feel free. Besides, some of the greatest poetry of all time is depressing.

when he’s around I can not frown
He knows when I’m sad
and he always does his best to make me glad
He is funny he is sweet

Wow, CK, you and Smokiechimp actually LIKE my poetry?
I don't know what to say, except, well, WOW again! :)

I guess, when you get to it, some of the greatest works are depressing, and as such, are great beause they show us true human emotion-anyone can write a poem about being on top of the world, or being in love, but when someone responds to a true loss or real pain, this is when true evocation steps in and does it's work.

My Girls

There are a special few who make even my darkest of days seem like just a bump on the road.
They're are always there for me if I need a hug or just someone to hold.
They know that they are the reason I will always be there
No matter the situation or the sadness it causes they know I still care.
They are the reason I'm here every single day
They give me the strength to continue on my way
True friends are something to hold onto with all of your heart

How do I do it, Dr Evil?

To be honest, I really don't know.

I read a lot of poetry books, have musical training as I was in a band (guitar) and I just listened to a lot of songs and the way that every line rhymes in one way or another. After a while it just comes naturally. It's something you have to come upon yourself. I can't really explain it other than that, as I'm at as much of a loss as you to explain it. :confused:

that band idea wont work for me i once played the saxophone and i got kicked out of class in a month or two because i was HORRIBLE:p

Well isn't Italy considered one of the old Latin countries? The original language of Europe was Latin, and from it came Italian Spanish and French, if I'm not mistaken..I never was any good at social studies

You look at the Italian and Spanish languages and they sound almost the same. And I guess since you are Italian, you come from Latin descent even though you aren't directly from Italy. Of course I could be wrong.

I started it all
I'll admit that,

The practices went by fast,
as we became more than acquaintances.

basically our friendship was screwed.

The feeling remains,
it is too hard to let go.

betrayal is the one that seems to predominate our collective. We love someone, wanting to be loved the same way in return, only finding out that they have someone else in mind, and that we were just an afterthought or something to occupy their time. They thought they did us a favor by pretending that they recognized our existence...

If any of you wonder why I concentrate on love lost, and betrayal, it's because I found out that the lady that I was married to for 7 years, was cheating on me with someone else. The last 7 years of my life, have been a lie. Based on the fact that it has basically ruined my life to a great degree, I guess I'm sort of a minor expert on the subject.

Anyway, Kitty, cheer up, you're young yet, and have a whole life ahead of you. You'll find someone, but in the meanwhile, live for yourself. Not for anyone else, just yourself.

I can't go into details, but my life hasn't been an easy one.

I've always been a believer that hardship creates humanity, and on that note, you'll probably find me as the only person in my town who would help an old lady across the street while everyone else would just let her stumble through. I never want to treat anyone else the way I was treated, because I know what it felt like, and I will never pass that on to anyone else until the day i die if I can help it.

I've always believed that no act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. It's sad that the ones around me can't understand that, or appreciate it.

I ask myself what I'm doing in this day and age, as I should have been born in a time when peoples' feelings really mattered, IF they ever mattered at all :(

We we're going to take a bus down to Egypt, but at the time there were tourist buses being blown up so we didn't. If it was my choice I would have gone anyway, if there was one thing in the world I'd like to see it was those pyramids, I lost my chance :(

Word! Terror is psychological as well as physical. The thought of attack can be just as devastating as the act itself. Hopefully, after the ass kicking we gave the Taliban and the ass whooping we laid on Saddam, maybe they'll get the message that were through with their garbage. I am a stoner, yes, but I NEVER smoke during the day, only at night after the kids are asleep, and NEVER in the house. I go outside. I like to get high (as a pain and stress reliever) but I am responsible about it.

Ultimately,
the beauty people have inside of them, is seen thru works of tragedy, and not triumph. It's one thing to be sad over betrayal or hurt, but to put your thoughts into rhyme and reason, and to show your hurt while doing it, also brings out the beauty of the person, which manifests itself in our embrace of sadness and the way with which we take it from the heart to the pen and paper.

In essence, shadow becomes substance.

I'm in a similar situation, where I believed all that was being said to me, and I felt very special, only to find out at a later date, that all of it was hollow and meaningless.

And I'd like to give you a very big *HUG* and hope that your pain dissolves as the days go by. Take care.

You know, the more I stay here at CS.net the more I see the real beauty of all the people here.

I have to admit that I have never seen such a wide range of emotions displayed, as well as the two that bind us all together being the most prevalent-that of loneliness and betrayal. Even if we can't be there for each other in person, our words and thoughts are with each other, and that in itself is positive reinforcement.

Not enough people practice positive reinforcement today, because I think that as society continues to exist, the lack of compassion increases with each passing day. People care more about themselves and less and less about each other.

I just want to let all of you know here at CS.net, that even if this was the last night of my life, I could go into the unknown knowing that I had a great group of people like you guys and girls who truly love and care for each other like people should. For the first time in my 39 years on this planet, I feel truly accepted, and feel that it will be the only time I will ever feel such a thing.

How true Smokiechimp, but I feel my hurt and sorrow going beyond the normal. I'll tell you all what happened to me last night that has me so down:

I'm in a very heavy depressive slump, because I blew an online friendship with someone a few days ago, because I wanted something more, and she cut me down with nothing short of one of Voltron's Blazing Swords..she was very nasty to me, maybe because of her own past experiences, but it did NOT excuse her excessive nastiness to me, which I will now highlight with a few examples.

" I knew it, another lonely guy who wears his heart on his sleeve every time he talks to a woman online.."

"This is the part where you tell me you're lonely and that the kindness I showed you has turned into love, and you can't live without me, right? I'm supposed to believe that I saved you and now you worship me for it."

"I suppose you're going to kill yourself if I don't say I love you, right? Well go ahead and be a loser then, and do the world a favor and get it over with."

"I'm sick and tired of men feeling sorry for themselves-you DON'T own me online or in person, get over it."

And the big one: "Maybe your wife left you because she was tired of you complaining all the time about how much she owes you for your unwavering service to her. Another nice guy, right?"

There's more but that's the major highlights. And to be perfectly honest, I don't know what brought it on.

I tell all of you here that I truly treated her with respect, never used any major obscene language, and I always listened when she talked.

We had a beautiful relationship online, and I can't see why she's making me feel guilty for telling her how I feel. All I did was tell her how I felt and the whole house came tumbling down. 5 months of sharing, laughter and tears came to an end...

And to be honest, it's a part of the reason I said in my previous post that I would die happy if this was the last night of my life. Because I feel like I'm dead.

Yeah, I can type it out here, but beyond that I'm dead, spiritually. I'm broken inside, and don't know how to handle it. I've never had this happen before, not online anyway.

We shared pictures, phone numbers, poems, we shared everything, and this is the end result because I make my feelings known.

Maybe I should have just shut up and never said anything. it's not like I really exist anyway....

Well I can't relate to losing a love like your peom describes, but I can relate to the lossof someone dead:

A good friend
of mine died 21 years ago this past April 22.

He was killed in a motorcycle accident, he died in the hospital. The experience was the first time I had ever lost a friend when I was growing up. I was almost 19 at the time, and the anxiety I felt over being so young losing a friend, really drove me nuts at the time, teen angst at it's best.

And I stayed up all night
to the dawn when I heard about it.
I still thnk about him a lot.

I thought of him all thru the night,
until the early morning light
a friendship that went on and on
something special now is gone..

Rays of light give way to sadness
on this darkest day
a dear dear friend has left the earth
to take a cold cold grave...

I know he's in a better place,
where it will never rain
free of hurt and free of wrath
as well as human pain

And as the sun shall fade away,
when twilight turns to dark
I shall recall my dear dear friend,
the one I knew as Mark...

Perfect I thought in my mind

where my new love went
as the air was thick of his scent.

I turned and found a note
it was from my new love, he wrote:
"My head was elsewhere
but with this I cannot bear.

I have found someone new
please do not feel blue.

as we fell into this short romance."

As the letter ended I stood there
thinking as I pulled back my hair.
C'est la vie I thought
as for a second I felt distraught.

(alright this is how originally i wanted the last poem to go, so here it is)

It started with a dance
when I saw you first glance
I thought that this was it
suddenly I admit.

We walked onto the dance floor
feeling like I was to soar
high up into the air
us together, this lovely pair.

More and more we got
to know each other not
the way I expected it to be
but even more so you see.

Months went by still humming the same tune
that one we danced to that day in June.
Later on when I was with you
I danced with you without a clue

What you asked me later on that night
what you said with all of your might
that I was the one
for you and that was when you finally won.

Months came and went, and again
we danced to the same song as it did rain
on our wonderful wedding day
on the fifth of may.

Years came and went by fast
and this marriage certainly did last
as our children grew before our eyes
oh yes when they left I did cry.

We grew old as time went by
and still we felt so high
as we still danced to the same old song
our love still as strong.

On the last day we saw each other
still loving one another
we held hands as we closed our eyes
as we said our last goodbyes.

We'll meet again in heaven real soon
dancing together at the same old tune
forever this song will echo within

I wrote this in my high school days so it's not that good & liberally peppered with that teen angst..but here ya go

Delusions of a better life

So many times i can lie to myself
so many times i can ignore this pain
this suffering
how must I ignore this solitude
this emptiness
this longing
Building up delusions of a better life
always a smile upon my face
I'm a jester
I'm a clown
a comedian
Each time a new relationship dawns
feel that she's the one
feel happy
content
joyious
Each one ends in hurt
in betrayel
fighting
cheating
hatred
loathing
Yet still I prefer to lie to myself
it'll be better one day
some
day
