creepy scenarios

Hey I am currently in the planning stage of a film I want to make. The general premise of the film is a group of teenagers are on a road trip when their car inexplicably dies in the middle of nowhere. Out in the distance is a lone house, so they go and see if they can use their phone (cell phone service is inexplicably down in that area). When they happen upon the house, they find that is it a quaint old bed and breakfast run by a lone resident. He informs them that freak lightning storms have knocked out the phone lines and offers them a place to stay until phone service is back free of charge.

Throughout their stay, they have encounters with people that appear to be dead, one minute they're there and the next they're gone. They come to the conclusion that the house is haunted, and one of the members of the group begins to have visions of ghastly murders that appear to take place in the mansion.

Since they are not able to leave, they decide to find out what happened, and their journey leads them to a discovery of the evil that pervades the house.

So basically what I am calling for are creepy scenarios that I can place my actors in that do not recquire elaborate special effects but would scare people senseless. Any thing would help.

wow... i never though it sounded so much like scooby doo but now that u mention it............yeah...........damn.

the only reason it is teenagers is because i am 17 years old and that's really all i have access to in terms of teenagers.

i'm not trying to make it some pop horror movie like scream or i know what you did last summer.

i'm trying to go the angle like What Lies Beneath and The Ring. You know something creepy and disturbing.

Deal with the surroundings. Old cabin, right? Cabins are usually lifted off of the ground 2 feet or so.... that two feet of floor space can make for some creepy stuff.... like the well in the Ring.

Cabin...... fires starting inexplicably..... chopping ax.... fire poker.

Oooooh, stuffed stags and visions of bleeding trophy heads.

Turn off The Ring or What Lies Beneath and break out the Hitchcock to learn how to do suspense/horror films. Start with Psycho and go from there.

Ok, seriously? Work with what you've got. Don't try shoot it in hollywood style, or it'll turn out looking incredibly amateurish and ridiculously cheesy. Take a cue from the Blair Witch Project. Aim for realism since that's the biggest tool you've got.

your idea is good urban, just i think i've seen about 30 movies with that exact same story line, or close to it. but work on it, and it'll be cool.

as for a creepy scenario, picture yourself in a bed between michael jackson and r. kelly, oh the parties that could go on. thats what my movie will consist of, just that for 2 hours, hope you guys like it.
