ermm...nope...i think it's a pic with merry at minas tirith...firstly...when aragorn and gang arrived at isengard...merry and pippen disguised themselves as flotsam and jetsam...and if that's a pic of merry in that disguise..well...aragorn and gang couldve found out that they are not flotsam and jetsam...in the pic merry is wearing what he always wear throughout the journey..so i think that's a pic frm minas tirith..just a thought..

if im not wrong that chapter is sorta like a story telling chapter...where aragorn and gang tells pip and merry what happened and stuff...it's a pretty boring chapter in my opinion but hell...

The chapter is called Jetsam and Flotsam. Merry and Pippin are not disguised at J&F. J&F refers to the washed up stores at Orthanc which Sauruman had horded. It is chapter 9 of The Two Towers book and Gandalf et al actually meet up with Merry and Pippin in the previous chapter, the road to Isengard. :)

I was so excited to tell you guys but I told my mom first. She stopped me though, to say "that doesn't have to do with LOTR, flotsam & jetsam are nicknames for idiots!" She said that an example is in the Little Mermaid because the evil queen's sidekicks are named Flotsam and Jetsam.
I guess that would make sense, like Merry and Pippin were idiots in that chapter.

1. THis is Grond, from the making of the trilogy book that i borrowed from my friend, like the book it is a giant boar shaped battle ram that will atack Gondor. Peter wanted it to open its mouth(to bite) and atack the wall like a real wild animal. It will be carried by trolls as in the book, but the ork archers will be on top of it to atack foes from above.

Just like with the stills of TTT, the first wave will be of the basic characters: Frodo, Sam, Aragorn, Gandalf, etc. Then you will get into any new characters which the only new ones are Denethor and the mouth of Sauron. Then stills of certain scenes such as Faramir with Eowyn, Pippin and the palantir, Aragorn in Minas Tirith with his gondorian armor,etc.

Yes, I got some Minas Tirith shots that i asked for. They add a Kinglyness touch to Gondor and the one with the trees are very flomage. I hope they add some vigo-ism to the Minas Tirith scenes.

But this word inventing is funny but getting off-topiky. When people want pitures theyl be disapointed to get pages of arguements about fictiony words.

Jedi, you seem to know a lot about when movie pictures are released, based on the pictures released of TTT and FOTR when do you think the special effect shots of the trolls, Nazgul, Oliphants, Gollum, Ect will be released?

Really late in the year... probably a month before release time. Special effect stills are usually the last things that are released. Just take TREEBEARD for example; our first look at him didn't come till November. Look at Gollum, samething, there was nothing till mid-november.

It's like I was telling Lizwise, the stills that come out in the coming months will follow a pattern, we will start with our basic characters (Aragorn, Frodo, Gandalf, Legolas, etc.) then get in to the new characters (Denethor, The mouth of Sauron). The things you're talking about like the nazgul or probably what you really want to see is the witchking, am I right? Of course Shelob, will not be seen untill after the final theatrical trailer has debuted, even then in reguards to shelob, she will be teased as I like to say, in both trailers and stills that are released.

I suspect that's simply due to the fact that most of the CGI shots simply aren't completed until a few months before release.

The WETA folk given the keynote speech last week on the creation of Gollum, the Ents and use of MASSIVE, (linked at TORN I think) said that they didn't come to the storming of Isengard until really late in the day, and that combined with the technical difficulties of Treebeard's CGI beard made things a bit rushed, and not as complete as they'd have liked.

I think i might know what its about...

Last year at about fall I remember hearing rumours about Frodo and Sam takeing a secret sewer under Ogliath to get to Cirith Ungol. When i watched the movie I discarded it as a fraud. Now I think it was true, they look like their in a sewer dont they?

Maybe Peter cut it out realising that giant spiders in sewers was a cliche (caugh) Ninja turtles (cough)

That pic is from a deleted scene of THE TWO TOWERS, it is of Frodo and Sam in the sewers of Osgiliath. The scene was supposed to show Faramir telling them that the safest way out of Osgiliath is through the sewers, then he leads them to the sewers and they continue the journey.

At the beginning of the film, Frodo's reading...oh! I get the connection! Frodo is reading about adventures and at the end, he's <I>writing</I> his adventures!

The things to notice on how this ROTK not TFOTR SE are really these two things:

1) Like someone already said, Bilbo has grey hair not BLACK

2) In the opening of TFOTR SE Bilbo is wearing his RED VEST, there is no red vest here.


Also the word from Ian Mckellen is that Cate Blanchet is the first to speak in the LOTR trilogy and she will be the last.

Now by looking at the comparisons, you can notice a number of different things: Look at the room - Bilbo has a ton of things strewn around, Look at Frodo, he cleaned up a bit. That book stand in Bilbo's pic is in the corner, now in the Frodo pic it is in the foreground more. Look at the plants in the window in Bilbo's pic, now look at Frodo, they are replaced by something else.

You are right on RIZOR, this will not be the LAST shot in the film. Though I think you will agree with me that this shot will be one of the final scenes, but not the FINAL shot. This scene has to include a few things for example: Sam coming for a visit, reading over the possible titles for Frodo's journal


I would love the final shot or shots to bea sweeping shot of middle earth going from the shire to Gondor where Aragorn is now king to Rohan where Eomer is king then ending with a sweeping shot of Valinor where Frodo, Bilbo and Gandalf step off the boat into Valinor just as Galadriel completes her epilouge, it is confirmed that we will see Valinor

Personally I'm not that overbothered whether we see Valinor or not. I don't think it will spoil anything being that it is the very end of the film with nothing really to spoil.

As long as they don't show too much because introducing vast new landscapes at the end of such a film would seem slightly strange to me (unless it were the very final shot).

There were two reports on Shelob... One was from me that said the progress of Shelob was going quite well, then like a day later Darkhorizons.com ran a report saying there was a problem and that PJ was not only unhappy with Shelob but with the whole entire film. The next day, WETA and PJ came to the rescue and confirmed my report about Shelob sequences looking great and the film coming together better than expected. DH then retracted the report.

You know what was funny about that DH report? A day after it came out Ian Mckellen was doing an interview with a UK magazine and as he was doing the interview, Sir Ian was checking his e-mail and he noticed there was a newly recieved e-mail from PJ and it said that ROTK was "looking great." I think that was the quote. That was the really the first rejection of that DH report, then later on like I said one of the WETA reps and PJ came and said everything was going great.

No... It's a good site, I think what happen was that DH saw they were falling behind in exclusive scoops on LOTR and decided to run a phony report that would get fans talking DH and then it backfired dramaticly. Within 24 hours the report was proven wrong.

Ok, my best advise, go to the fridge, talk out a big, juciy, wet fish (Halibut work best, but Cod or Haddock are fine either), clear your desk of all co-operative electronic devices, then with one mighty swing (from right to left) *THWACK!* on the side of your PC. Repeat 3 to 4 times on either side of the PC, or until the fish has collapsed in your hands. Clean with a damp cloth and calmly open the nearest window. Throw un-cooperative PC from said window onto ground below. Leave to simmer. Return 2 or 3 days later and re-connect PC. Hopefully, having seen the error of it's ways, it will be more than willing to show you the pictures of Shelob which it has so rudely and thoughtlessly been hiding from you thus far.

Hello, Probably no one remembers me because my computer crashed for three weeks and I couldnt post.

I can see the pictures fine Jedi, and the Minas Morgul one I asked for looks amazing.


But saying my new "fixed" windows runs in 16 colour mode all the pictures are grainy blurrs to me :(:(:(!

All I can hope for is that I can fix my Computer colour before the RotK trailer comes out.( LOTR RING imagines squinting to see whats going on in the grainy, blurred video, then imagines all the Message board people talking about how visualy stunning it was)

Ditto, however, if you select the images button from the left, then use the search facility - select 'only new images', 'ROTK', and the pic I think being referred to is the 6th one along of Eomer. Not 1 I've seen before. :)
