It's getting dark during that 'pic, wouldn't ya say? A twilight type of thing. And yes, Faramir was dragged back before the SIEGE, not the Pellenor. The Siege starts just before evening-time, and the Pellenor Fields fight is the next morning, when Rohan comes.

Bah, your right. It's day there.....so I'm definetely sure this is sometime before the Siege, shortly after Faramir is brought back wounded. I still don't get the 'boromir' flashback thing, either. They said a BOROMIR flashback, not a duel one of Denethor hearing the news.


P.S. also note the sword Denethor has hanging from his belt. The only time he puts on a sword is after Pippin is robbed as a soldier of the tower guard, and before the siege. Denethor arms himself pre-siege/Pellenor......so yeah. Any takers against me? ;)

about aragorn- sauron was putting pretty much all his will power in finding all he could from pippin about what was happening with frodo and the ring, and aragorn just touching thepalantir was pretty much a real shock of power. remember, in HD, in the book, aragorn only just puts down sauron's will, and that was after a long time of looking into it

Cbars, hopefully the entire sequence with Aragorn taking possession of the palantir will occur in the ROTK: SE. I think we only got a brief glimpse of Aragorn unknowingly touching the palantir . . the next time he touches it he will be prepared and know what to expect. The only time he touched it in the book was after he knew what it was . . in a very early Harry Knowles ROTK set report he described Aragorn confronting the palantir . . so, we know more of this scene was filmed.

While watching playback, I mention to Peter….

"I bet this is where a few thousand dollars of sound effects and score come to full hilt eh?"

To which Peter smiled and said, "I do believe yer right on that one."

The look on Viggo’s face is that of one gazing upon an insanity of evil…. I do not know what he is imagining to get this expression… but whatever private demon Viggo has summoned, it looks to me as though he is staring into the flaming eye of Sauron, whether or not we ever see that.

I was also trying to make apoint about Sting that no one seems to talk about here...

If you notice... Everytime Sting is used it really does damage the 'enemy' quite severely... And it was designed to kill the mother of the Mirkwood spiders... (That would be old corrupt Shelob)
