I got an email from her saying that we need to review 3 of the articles that we read for the class and that's at least 70 pages! It's a frickin' 8:00 class and she waits until 1 am to tell us this ****?! WTF? No sleep for me tonight. Just wanted I wanted to do. :(

JBond
09-26-2002, 01:50 PM
Looking back at my post I worded that pretty poorly, the point is you HAVE to stake a vampire, so it's not that weird, but it still is funny if you look at it the right way. "Oh yes, to kill him you have to destory his heart with a pointy object!" .....ah forget it, when is my next class...

I read a recent article talking about how Prince Charles is speaking out too much, saying that Political Correctness is ruining England, these comments angering Parliament.
The one thing that struck me is he was making fun of a policy to "fell" Chestnut trees in Eastern England. (I think fell means cut down... help me out longshanks) Apparently, Parliament feared that falling chestnuts might injure passer-bys.
That is ridiculous! How could a tiny, miniscule chestnut do any more than sting for a couple of minutes? Did they seriously cut down the trees for this reason?

My grandmother died about 1 month ago. She was nearly 91 years old. Her memory had begun to deteriorate about 2 years ago, so she couldn´t really remember much.
I never knew her that well, because - I guess - by the time I felt I could talk normally to my grandparents (you know, beyond the "you want some candy?" stage), she was already hard to communicate with. I speak a lot with my other grandmother though.
But I remember the funeral clearly. Because I didn´t feel that I knew her that well, I felt strangely out of place. Both my dad and mother cried a lot, of course. And so did my older sister (who´s 30) and brother (who´s 26). Everybody was hugging and crying, and I just felt a little uncomfortable there, just standing with a frown on my face without any tears running down my cheek.
But I think people understood. And I did feel it was sad.

Because of the remnants of Tropical Storm Isidore, we're still getting soaked with some much-needed rain. This morning we started getting the wind. The power was trying to brown out at the house just about the time I was getting ready to dry my hair, but fortunately nothing happened! This is kinda out-of-character for me, but I actually wore a camo shirt today. Because of all this rain, I decided I better not wear a white shirt again!
I'm also wondering why the song about "The Inquisition" from History of the World Part 1 is stuck in my head! :D
I'm seriously considering taking Richard (a guy that goes to school here) up on his offer of playing pool downstairs. :D I love pool!

I'm sorry to hear that. I can sympathize with you on that. My uncle is dying of various causes, primarily an inoperable brain tumor. He has good days and bad days, but all opinions are that he won't see Thanksgiving this year. It could be 4-6 weeks or sooner. What's really tough, aside from watching my aunt go through this (they've been married for about 35 years), is knowing that he had hardly ever been sick in his life before the first stroke, in April. After that, it was like a tidal wave of problems.
I'm just glad I grew up enough to appreciate him as the person he was. And I'm gaining more respect seeing him handle his coming death as well as he is.
I'll keep her, and you and your family in my prayers.
For any of you out there who believe in prayer, please pray for my aunt. This is really hard for her. Thank you.

On my mind (note that I am not a pothead):
It's hypocritical and dangerous to keep pot illegal. Alcohol and tobacco will kill you much, much faster. True, Pot kills your motivation, and its a gateway drug, but look at the unnecessary crime attached to it being illegal.
Seriously. Pot is so easy to grow, that if it was legal, it would be completely off the streets. But as of the moment, people are being shot down in the cities, for no reason at all, except for an arbitrary moral decision imposed by Government.

I'm not sure to be honest, it's the second time it's happened. The first time I dropped because of sheer exhaustion and I have a sneaking suspicion that's what caused it this time. I need sleep.
kryptonian_boy
10-01-2002, 05:26 PM
Maybe you should see a doctor about that. You may be right, that you just need more sleep. But, it could be something else.
If you need to give up something in your life for a while, you might spend less time on the boards. I would miss you (though I would probably e-mail), but you have to decide what's best for you.
Regardless of the problem, it wouldn't do any harm, and might be good, to get checked out. This sort of thing can't continue.

I wouldn't really know what to tell you, Jibbs. My Audiovox phone likes to act screwy sometimes, I can tell you that much.
I'm also thinking that test I took in English yesterday was eeeeeeeeeevil!!! My instructor said it would probably be no more than 33 questions. Turns out the thing was 50 questions  and she was wanting us to write about all those little nit-picky details that I couldn't remember! And, of course, the one story I couldn't understand (and forgot to review) is the one she asked the most questions on. It took about 2 hours and 15 minutes for me to take that test and my hand was sore up to my elbow from writing so much. I was late for my next class but I didn't really care.
