Jeff hardy involved in airport incident, escorted out of plane
- pwinsider.com broke the news that jeff hardy was involved in an incident
at the nashville international airport yesterday morning and was removed
from his flight back home after he boarded with his brother matt and friend
gregory helms. Several police officers escorted the former intercontinental
and tag team title holder off the plane. An eye witness told pwinsider.com
that hardy wasn't handcuffed by the airport police however it was clear that
he was being taken out. The reason why hardy was removed from his flight is
still unclear and it doesn't look good for jeff as he's already on strike
two with the wellness program and the third strike would mean immediate
release from his contract. Meanwhile uk tabloid newspaper the sun got a
short statement from wwe when they enquired about the incident. "wwe has
been informed of an alleged incident involving jeff hardy. We are currently
investigating the situation and will take appropriate actions if needed."
hardy is supposed to face triple h for the wwe title at no mercy in a couple
of weeks.

I don't think it had anything to do with drugs. I mean, he looks like he cleaned up on that. Probably just a fight or something with some passenger.

SOUTHWEST AIRLINES SAYS HARDY WAS INTOXICATED
- New details have emerged from the Jeff Hardy airport incident which
occurred this past Wednesday at the Nashville International Airport. Hardy
was ejected from his Southwest Airlines flight heading back home to Raleigh,
NC., after an airline employee reported that Jeff looked intoxicated. "He
was very cooperative and there was no altercation," said Chris Mainz,
spokesman for Southwest Airlines. The airline offered a later flight to
Hardy however he refused and made his own plans according to the
Tennessean.com website. The former IC and tag team champion was not arrested
no reports were filed against him with Mainz adding that there was no need
to get the police involved.

Definitely. But what is the problem if he was a little drunk? Unless, he touched someone or insulted someone, there might be a problem. But if you are already on the plane, what's the problem?

Lance Cades departure

In Jim Ross' latest blog, he somewhat explains why Lance Cade was abruptly let go from WWE this week. According to Ross, it was a disciplinary measure following a bad case of judgment, with concluded with an incident on an airplane.

His release from the company was not due to his performance, most notably, in a tag match with DX on Raw a few weeks ago. Ross wrote: "The story that I have read on many internet sites about the reason for Cade's sudden dismissal isn't accurate. Many punhdits speculate that Cade was dismissed because of a bad performance in a recent TV bout against DX on Raw which is absolutely untrue. Lance's dismissal had zero to do with his in ring performances or his lack of ability." In case you missed it, there was a spot at the end of the match in which Shawn Michaels delivered the SuperKick to Cade. He was supposed to stand wobbly on his feet to run into a Pedigree from Triple H, but fell down instead. Audibly, Triple H told him to get up so he could deliver the move.

Ross doesn't go into detail, only to note that Cade made a bad decision. Following Cade's bad case of judgment, he ended up having a seizure on the plane, which required emergency medical care. Luckily for Cade, Lilian Garcia was on the same flight and helped him get taken to the hospital. Doctors performed a number of tests on him and determined that there was nothing seriously wrong with him.

Following the incident, Ross felt that WWE had no choice but to let Cade go. Ross appears to imply that the seizure was due to Cade's "bad judgment."

Ross wrote: "Lance Cade was dismissed from the WWE because, like many humans, he made a major league mistake while utilizing bad judgment that cost him his job. This included Lance having a seizure on an airplane and having to have emergency medial care. Luckily, Lilian Garcia was on the same flight and was instrumental in helping Lance get taken to a hospital where a battery of tests were run that luckily determined that there was nothing seriously wrong with the young man such as a brain tumor, etc.

Everyone makes mistakes, Lord knows I have made plenty in my career, but in this day and time some mistakes just simply can't be condoned. To some fans, Lance Cade will likely still be perceived as the victim in this matter and his punishment too harsh.

Under the circumstances of the situation, I don't know what other decision the WWE could have made. I'm just relieved that it wasn't me in my former role that would have had to address this matter. I really like this kid and hope that he continues to follow his dreams. Second chances are not foreign in the wrestling business so perhaps that could be in Lance's future but that's just a personal observation."

As to the Triple Threat Match between Jeff Hardy, Triple H and Vladimir Koslov, Courtesy of WWE.com:

"In front of a capacity crowd in the TD Banknorth Garden, Edge stunned the WWE Universe by returning from Hell to become the new WWE Champion, defeating former champion Triple H and Vladimir Kozlov as a late entrant in the Triple Threat Match.

With Jeff Hardy out of action after being found unconscious in the stairwell of his Boston hotel earlier in the morning, Kozlov and Triple H battled each other one-on-one. Just when it looked like the champion had Kozlov where he wanted him with a hard-hitting Pedigree, SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero interrupted the match to announce that it would indeed be Triple Threat – with Edge as the third competitor.

The WWE Universe had not seen any sign of life from Edge since Undertaker sent him to Hell at SummerSlam in a Hell in a Cell Match. But on this night, he was full of energy and unleashed on The Game with a vicious spear. Next, Hardy shocked the WWE Universe by running into the ring and attacking Edge. Then, Hardy jumped out of the ring to get a steel chair. He returned, knocking both Triple H and Kozlov to the canvas with angst-ridden chair shots to the head. A fired-up Edge took down Hardy with a spear. After the carnage, the Ultimate Opportunist capitalized, covering Triple H for the win.

Coincidently, the last time Edge won the WWE Championship was in a Triple Threat Match on Raw in July 2006, when he defeated John Cena and Rob Van Dam.

Edge’s victory ended the 12th reign of The King of Kings, who has held the WWE Championship since April.
The stunning course of events leaves the WWE Universe asking some compelling questions.

Exactly what happened to Hardy in his hotel? What will Triple H do to try and regain the gold? And what is the state of the relationship between SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero and her husband, Edge? Finally, how will Kozlov react to not winning the coveted gold he has been seeking?

Things are sure to be very interesting on Friday Night SmackDown."

Team HBK defeated Team JBL (Survivors: HBK, Rey Mysterio, and The Great Khali)

Team Orton Defeated Team Batista (Survivors: Randy Orton, and Cody Rhodes)

Raw Divas defeated SmackDown Divas (Sole Survivor: Beth Phoenix)

last, but not least:

John Cena defeated Chris Jericho for the World Heavyweight Championship!!

And there you have it!

That would be TIGHT if they all 3 came back at the Rumble. What would be more interesting is if Christian did that and won. ;) That'd be a shocker for everyone, and I think he deserves a shot anyhow. He is a great wrestler with a load of fun charisma. Then it would be this awkward situation for him and Edge. Be even better if it came down to him and Edge huh?! As for RVD, I hear that his wife is battling cancer at the moment. Sad news, eh?

In other news, I got my house show tickets for here in Springfield. It is Smackdown/ECW, and I got section 2 (where they enter) row 6, seats 1 2 and 3. So, I have been wondering, does that mean we will be on the end, to where we can slap hands with them as they enter? I have met most of the guys before, but wanted my buddy Big Troy and my fiance to be able to be the ones slapping hands with the wrestlers as they come out. As he has never been this close at an event, and it will be her very first event live. Does anyone else think I am right about the seating? I am excited because it is a pretty good card.

The following was submitted by reader Derek Greser regarding an incident his friend was involved in at this past Sunday's Armageddon pay-per-view in Buffalo.

WWE Fan Robbed of History
By: Derek Greser 11/15/08

This past Sunday at WWE Armageddon 2008, history was made. In a shocking conclusion to the event, Jeff Hardy captured the WWE Championship. This would mark the first time that the high-flying Superstar would capture what is considered to be crown jewel of the sports entertainment business. Any fan of the WWE and/or Jeff Hardy can tell you this has been a long time coming. The event emanated from HSBC Arena in Buffalo, NY. The event marked the 2nd ever Pay-Per-View event in the city and venue's history, as well as its first major title change.

29-Year-Old Tom Griffith attended the event, and had front-row seats. Tom has been a 20-year tenaciously loyal fan of the WWE. I know Tom personally and I can say that without question, the WWE is one of the biggest passions in his life. Tom has attended over 25 live events in Buffalo, Toronto, Philadelphia and Rochester. He has purchased countless WWE DVD's and box-sets (many on their release date), video games, memorabilia, clothing, and roughly $7000 dollars on pay-per-view events.

Unfortunately for Tom, he was not able to witness history. Prior to the main event, Armageddon featured a mid-card bout between Batista and Randy Orton. Tom, an avid fan of Randy lead his friends in a raucous chorus of boos Batista's entrance. They even dared to direct a naughty hand gesture (The same that mega-star Stone Cold Steve Austin used on television for years) at the 300 plus lb. powerhouse dubbed "The Animal". Batista himself made eye contact with Tom and his friends, and got right in their face before ascending the ring apron. Due to the quality of Tom's seats, this was clearly visible to fans at home as well as in the arena.

Tom then received a signal from one of the cameramen working outside the ring. This WWE employee made the "slit the throat" gesture at Tom which universally means "cut it out". Tom nodded, and decided that he had expressed himself enough. Minutes later, approximately 8 imposing looking men dressed in gray suits asked if they could speak with Tom in the aisle. Tom obliged and was then walked out of the arena, concluding in the gray suits tearing his ticket up in front of him. The explanation Tom was given was "The person renting this building tonight has requested you be removed from it". Tom spent the rest of the event outside in the freezing rain waiting for his friends who were still inside to drive him home.

In the past, WWE has encouraged their fans to express themselves. Vince McMahon has encouraged fans to bring signs to their support, or anti-support of his performers. This leads to the question; why was Tom removed? He was not involved in an altercation with anyone performing at or attending the event. He was not publically intoxicated. The only possible reason Tom was removed is that the powers-that-be at WWE wanted to protect the image of their Superstar Batista, who is presented as a fan-favorite.

The right thing to do here is to refund Tom's ticket price. In the interest of fairness, this should be the very minimum. The best case scenario is to give Tom priority seating at the next WWE event at HSBC to make up for this obvious mistreatment of a great patron and fan. This article will be sent to World Wrestling Entertainment as well as HSBC Arena and Tickets.com. The ball is now the court of these companies. Will any of them step up to right this wrong?

I am asking for the support of the Pro-Wrestling community to please let Tom's story be heard. Let's protect the right to express ourselves as fans, and paying customers.

he should get a refund no doubt. but prime seats for a next event? no.
like the article says, wwe does encourage people to express themselves, but i dont think that means flipping the wrestlers off. thats just pushing it. it sucks that he got thrown out, but he did it to himself in my opinion.

I think that he should get prime seats for the next event rather then a refund of money. As for Batista getting in his face, was that really necessary? He kinda made the scene rather, and should be used to fans heckling him, whether he is a heel or a face. If anything, I think Batista should be fined for making a scene out of it. I think that they probably threw the guy out for flipping him off because WWE has changed their programming to TV PG or whatever. It isn't like it was when Stone Cold was there. They have toned it down quite a bit.

yea i agree that Batista caused the scene. John Cena EVERYDAY gets booed and flipped off at but he keeps his cool and his image.

The only time I ever remember a crowd getting to Cena was at ECW One Night Stand 2006. Even though you could tell it bugged him, he was still keeping his cool best he could.

Batista's a ****.

this does not make sense to me, WWE is wanting to have their program 'kid friendly' but yet they have this bull crap? http://www.wwe.com/shows/smackdown/sdspecial/vickienude/
"nude photos' of Vickie? :nono: seriously, does that make sense to anyone?

ok, we dont want the fans to flip off meat-heads but yet we'll create a storyline of nude pics of Vickie, online non the less.

JUST READ THIS.

An angle involving Jeff Hardy and his fiancée Beth will be inserted into this Friday's edition of SmackDown. WWE is doing an angle where Hardy and his fiancée are injured in a hit-and-run auto accident in the WWE Champion's hometown of Cameron, North Carolina. Christian Cage will likely be revealed as the perpetrator when the time comes to be. Jeff will be okay, but his fiancée will apparently be seriously injured in the storyline. The angle is a bit surprising as Hardy's fiancée has always wanted to be out of the spotlight.

tis the season for pink slips

THREE REFEREES RELEASED
- Superstars and office workers aren't the only ones being let go as three
referees - Mike Posey, Kevin Keenan and Jimmy Korderas - were told that
their services weren't needed anymore as well. Korderas has worked for WWE
for 22 years and his departure was a surprise to many since he's one of the
most experienced referees.

SEVERAL WRESTLERS GIVEN THE PINK SLIP
- Let the bodies hit the floor! The mass layoffs moved from WWE offices to
WWE locker room as the company started cleaning house. D'Lo Brown - hired in mid last year - was the first one given the boot followed by Bam Neely who
dropped off the Smackdown! picture a while ago. Long time employee Val Venis was also cut, surviving a total of 11 years with the company. Kevin Thorn who wrestled for ECW was given his marching orders as well as two
developmental wrestlers Shawn Spears and Mike Kruel.

TIM WHITE RELEASED AFTER OVER 20 YEARS EMPLOYED
- Surprising cuts are being made as former WWE referee Tim White was also
one of the casualties of the layoffs after being employed by the company for
well over twenty years. White served as a referee till 2002 when a Hell In A
Cell match bump practically ended his career. After his work as a referee,
White moved to the Smackdown! brand where he served as a producer/agent.
White is probably remembered the most for having several attempts to kill
himself on WWE.COM with Josh Matthews following a stunt that was played out at the Armageddon 2005 PPV where he took a shotgun from his bar 'The
Friendly Tap' and attempted suicide. Rhode Island police received over 1,000
calls that night from people who didn't realize it was all an angle. White
was a big friend of Andre The Giant as is featured a lot in the
just-released Andre biography.

GOOD NEWS!! WHAT?!
STEVE AUSTIN TO LEAD HALL OF FAME CLASS OF 2009
- The Hall of Fame website on WWE.COM is displaying a picture on the front
page of the first inductee for the class of 2009 and he is non other than
Stone Cold Steve Austin. "HALL YEAH, HE'S IN. Stone Cold Steve Austin leads
the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2009," reads the caption. The link to the
story goes to last year's recap of the show. It has been rumored that Austin
would be headlining the Hall of Fame class this year with WrestleMania being
from his home state of Texas and if WWE gets their way Austin would be
wrestling for one more match at the Reliant Stadium the day after he gets
inducted

Releasing D'Lo Brown, Val Venis, and Kevin Thorn was a very poor choice in my opinion. D'Lo got used, what, twice? Venis has been around and misused for a long time. He has more talent then most guys out there now in the spot light. Thorn was an interesting one and was good in the ring also. Bad WWE, BAD!!!

i cant believe they let go ref Jimmy Korderas

Why are they doing this? Surely WWE is not being affected by the economic crisis, I mean every arena sells out, well it looks packed.
Austin being in the Hall of Fame is awsome, but too soon, no? I mean if they induct him this year then I guess The Rock is getting inducted too, no?

I pretty confident that Val Venis will be brought back into the company at some time.

jbailey84
01-14-2009, 03:30 AM
i dont think its too soon for Austin. he hasnt wrestled since WM 19 in 2003. almost 6 years!! with his bad knees and most def his neck, would we ever see him wrestle again? possibly for one last match.

i think with all the cuts, the WWE tries to save money possibly for better talent or whatever else is up their sleeves. who knows.

ZombieMan
01-14-2009, 10:31 AM
Yeah, but they also have to pay out for releasing. Wow, I mean, I just don't know what to think. Sim Snuka should feel lucky about the angle they have thrown him into. Because if he was still Deuce, I have a feeling that he would have been next. I hope that Kizarney keeps up the good work in the ring, because he will be top notch someday. If he slacks, he could be next. In my opinion, they should release Ezekiel Jackson. He is boring, and can't wrestle. I attended a house show over the weekend and he was terrible there too. I was right along the railing and as he entered I was telling him, "You can't wrestle man". HAHA!!!

more pink slips and a retirement

SGT SLAUGHTER RELEASED FROM WWE
- Robert Remus - better known to all wrestling fans as Sgt Slaughter - was
given the pink slip after a total of 24 years of service to the company.
Slaughter was employed first in 1980 and stayed there till 1994 and then
again in 1998 until his release. The WWE Hall of Famer won the WWE title
once during his career, beating the Ultimate Warrior at the 1990 Royal
Rumble. After his wrestling career ended, Slaughter was given the role of a
road agent and made occasional appearances both in the ring and during
backstage segments.

DAMN!!
RON SIMMONS GETS HIS DAMN PINK SLIP TOO!
- Sgt Slaughter wasn't the only one released yesterday as Ron Simmons was
also shown the door after 13 years with the company. He was first hired
under the gimmick of Faarooq Assad and later became the leader of Nation of
Domination. Simmons' biggest success came teaming up with John 'Bradshaw'
Layfield as the two joined forces to become The Acolytes and later as the
APA. Simmons was fired in a storyline in 2003 by then Smackdown! GM Paul
Heyman however once he got backstage he found out that he was really fired
for "inappropriate conduct" although he was hired a few months afterwards.
Since then he barely wrestled and just made occasional appearances in comedy roles just saying "DAMN!" on camera. In WWE, Simmons won the Tag Team title three times with Bradshaw and was the first ever African American WCW Heavyweight champion.

VICTORIA WRESTLES LAST MATCH ON SMACKDOWN!, RETIRES
- Lisa Marie Veron, who wrestles under the name Victoria, has decided to
call it a day and hang up her boots. Her last appearance will be on this
Friday's Smackdown! which was taped yesterday. Victoria made her WWE debut in 2001 when she was one of The Godfather's hos and was often referred to as the "head ho", somewhat similar to the name "Head ***** in Charge" that she used while wrestling for UPW in California. After being off TV and sent to Memphis to train, she was brought up in mid 2002, was given the name Victoria and thrown into a feud with Trish Stratus. During her time in WWE she won the Women's title twice beating out Trish Stratus and Molly Holly.

Sorry, but that f**kin sellout does not deserve to be in the Hall of Fame.............EVER. The Rock could've very well still be wrestling had he stayed, but no decided to sell his soul to Hollywood. And look at him now. Dude hasn't made a good movie since The Rundown.............6 freakin years ago!! I just lost all respect for The Rock after he basically turned his back on not only the company that made him famous, but his family's legacy.

ChaCho

I wouldnt call him a sellout for trying to change careers. what would you prefer? keep getting slammed and injured, or sitting down, memorizing some lines and say them on camera (which was something he already did on WWE). True, he has not made a good movie in years and he couldve still been top five best wrestlers now if he stayed, but i dont think that makes him a sellout. you still got to remember all he did, for so many years, with the WWE.

I am going to have to agree with you here...He could at least make some appearances or something. He wants nothing to do with WWE now. NOTHING, that is piss poor in my books.
