a new match has been announced for Wrestlemania It was announced during tonight's ECW taping that a 24-man battle royale featuring wrestlers from all three brands will be taking place during WrestleMania. The winner will then challenge Chavo Guerrero for the ECW title during the very same show. There was talk of doing the battle royal and/or the ECW title match as dark matches to only be shown on the WrestleMania DVD release, but now they're combining the two for the big show.
i hope Kane wins both!!
ChaCho
03-12-2008, 09:30 AM
Wow that's a great match, the Battle Royal I mean. I dont care much for the Title Match, but putting 24 people in one ring to battle is a very good way to include them in Wrestlemania plus putting on a good show. It will be good if Kane wins it, but I would like to see him in MITB match. I have the same opinion as if Batista would have been on it, a big man just crushing skulls with the ladder. Plus, Kane is much deserving of a Championship role. He puts on matches on both SmackDown and ECW against new wrestlers trying to show them the ropes, plus he's not afraid to battle on a Tag match and put on a good show. Wouldnt it be great if he won MITB and once more feuds with Taker?
On Jeff Hardy, I'm just so dissapointed, I thought he left those prroblems in the past.
chewie
03-12-2008, 11:14 AM
24 Man? The should bring in some people like they did for the Battle Royal at the 10th Anniversary show to make it the nice and even number of 30. The WWE should handle the Battle Royale and championship match like WCW did with Slamboree in 1998 when the championship match happened right after the Battle Royal ended. All we need now is for Dean Malenko to dress up like Ciclope.
jbailey84
03-12-2008, 05:45 PM
im hoping that's how they'll have it. a friend of mine said Chavo can come down and do commentary for the Battle Royal then once the winner is declared, just jump in the ring and wrestle.

lil more info about Jeff Hardy
Vince McMahon is not as shaken up over Jeff Hardy’s suspension as one might imagine. One source tells, "This is exactly what Vince has been waiting for". The source explained that McMahon can now trumpet the fact that he suspended one of his biggest stars just weeks before his biggest event if Congress or anyone else questions the validity of WWE’s drug testing program.
A second well-placed source believes Hardy cost himself a WWE Title run this spring and will now be branded a mid-card performer for life. The source also notes that Vince isn’t even willing to discuss future creative plans for Hardy at this time.

just when you thought it couldn't get any worse for Jeff :(
On his website, Jim Ross confirms today's report of Jeff Hardy's North Carolina home burning to the ground. He also gives an update on the situation, which you can read below:
The Jeff Hardy Saga Continues...
The fall out of the 60 day suspension of Jeff Hardy for a second violation of the WWE Wellness Policy is still making news. Sadly, Friday night, Jeff’s home in North Carolina burned to the ground and he lost essentially every thing he had and most sadly his dog. Losing an animal one is close to is just like losing a family member to many people and we just experienced that with the death of our 18 year old cat Molly who had to be put down after suffering a serious of strokes.
Apparently Matt Hardy saw smoke coming from Jeff’s home on Friday night, discovered that no one was home, but arrived at the house too late to do any thing but watch it burn to the ground.
These are challenging times for Jeff to say the least. Not only has he incurred his second strike with only one remaining before he would be terminated from the WWE, his situation has been underscored by the fact that his suspension went public per the WWE policy, which went into effect on November 1 and with which I wholeheartedly agree. Now Jeff’s home has been destroyed with the heart breaking reality that his beloved dog died in the fire as well.
Jeff’s career can be rebuilt if he so chooses to committing to do such. This commitment cannot be a short term commitment, but a life time commitment that must see him take it one day at a time and have the expressed goal of being successful in 24 hours intervals. I am one that truly believes that Jeff can make this happen, especially if those close to him offer Jeff the kind of support that he needs and that he seeks the wisdom and advise of a counselor who can help Jeff understand why these life and career threatening mistakes are being made.
Jeff’s home can be rebuilt materially, as well, but his many personal affects now nothing more than a memory. I hope this tragedy doesn’t push Jeff to the edge of the proverbial cliff to where his wrestling career becomes nothing more than a memory as well.
I grieve for the loss of the animal. I can only imagine what Jeff Hardy must be going through at this time. without question Jeff is being sternly tested. I hope he passes this test and the one’s to come admirably.
Jeff hardy will be 31 years old on August 31, 2008 and without question his wrestling career can be re-ignited if Jeff can prove to those that make the all important decisions that Jeff can be trusted and has become a responsible professional who understands how important it is to do the right things.
The trust factor is one that cannot be underscored enough. Over my 30+ years in the wrestling business I often wondered why so many of the men in charge were also their territories top stars. Owners/Promoters/Bookers like Eddie Graham, Verne Gagne, Fritz Von Erich, Bob Geigel, Bill Watts, Jerry Jarret and Jerry Lawler, The Funks, and so many more were their area’s top stars more often than not and did so because they knew they could trust and depend on their top stars, them. Being responsible and trust worthy are great traits to have in any field of endeavor, but it seems to be especially viable in the wrestling business based on my personal experiences.
Jeff Hardy can rebuild his home, hopefully he can somehow replace his beloved dog, I know that won’t be easy, but can he rebuild the trust with the WWE that allows Jeff to be provided with more opportunities to be the star that we all know that he can be? No one has this answer today. Only time will tell but I will say that my opinion is that it can be done but it certainly won’t be easy.

Source: betweentheropes.com, sescoops.com
In an audio interview with the Between the Ropes radio show, Kurt Angle had a lot to say about Bobby Lashley's future, major changes coming to TNA starting next month and fighting Randy Couture in an MMA style match this summer.
Here are the highlights:
-- When asked about the possibility of Bobby Lashley coming to TNA, Kurt said, “I’m not going to say anything, but be ready for anything. Be ready for a big surprise... Whatever he does, it’s going to make big press. Let’s just that I’m really excited about the direction that Bobby Lashley is going.”

Who is he?Here's what I found on wikipedia.com:
"Edward Gossett (better known as Eddie Graham) (January 15, 1930 – January 21, 1985) was a professional wrestler. He was also the promoter and booker for Championship Wrestling from Florida."
"Edward F. Gossett started wrestling in 1947[1] in Texas at the age of 17 after being trained by Cowboy Luttrell. He was sometimes billed as the brother of "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers under the name of Rip Rogers. He lost a loser-leaves-town match to Pepper Gomez in May 1958.
In June 1958, he changed his ring name to Eddie Graham and was billed as the brother of Dr. Jerry Graham and "Crazy" Luke Graham. Jerry and Eddie were a very successful heel tag team on the east coast of the United States.[1] They had popular feuds with teams such as the Fabulous Kangaroos, the Bastien Brothers, and Antonino Rocca and Miguel Pérez.[1] They held the NWA United States Tag Team Championship (Northeast version) together in Capitol Wrestling (the forerunner of World Wrestling Entertainment) four times, winning the belts three times in victories over Miguel Perez and Don Curtis, and once against Red and Lou Bastien.[2]
In the spring of 1960, Eddie left the team and went to the National Wrestling Alliance's territory in Florida to wrestle. While there, in 1966, he had a famous feud with Professor Boris Malenko.[3]
In 1968, Eddie was lacing his boots in the locker room and a 75 pound steel window fell on his head, detaching both of his retinas and causing him an injury that required three hundred stitches.[3] The Florida State Legislature awarded him $23,000 for the incident. According to Jim Wilson) in his book Chokehold, Graham's eyesight was poor because of blade jobs, and because he needed surgery to correct the problem and could not afford the money, he had some wrestlers tamper with the window in order to pass it off as though it was the responsibility of the building. This allegation is disputed by eyewitnesses. Due to the injury, Graham was unable to wrestle for fifteen months.[3]
Eddie took over booking and promoting for Championship Wrestling from Florida in 1971. He wrestled with his son, Mike Graham, until 1977, when he retired from the ring due to health problems. He was the President of the NWA from 1976 to 1978, thanks in part to Gordon Solie and Dusty Rhodes. Graham was absent as NWA President in 1977 and 1978 due to serious health problems he suffered from, and was forced to step down as a result.[4] Eddie remained as the promoter in Florida until January 21, 1985, when he allegedly committed suicide by a self-inflicted gunshot wound after a lifelong battle with alcoholism.[3]
He was announced to be entering the WWE Hall of Fame on 18th March 2008. He will be inducted by Dusty Rhodes".

16-0!! New World Champion, Damn it that was a good long match!! If HBK is Mr. Wrestlemania, then Taker is KING Wrestlemania.
Easily the best match of the night was HBK vs Ric Flair, hands down. One great, great match. One of the best Ive ever seen, and Im glad I did. Ric, Thank you for everything.
Overall, a very good Wrestlemania, some matches dissapointed like Show vs Floyd, but there were shockers, like the Money In the Bank match, the Triple Threat and Snoop and Maria. Some of these people included the 4 horsemen, Ricky the dragon Steamboat, Greg the hammer Valentine, Harley Race, Chris Jericho, John Cena, Ric Flair's family, and HBK. I might be missing a few. Then HHH invited anyone else in the back that wanted to thank him and pretty much everybody who worked for the company came out as it seemed and the whole ramp from the ring to the entrance way had wrestlers from all brands, referees, backstage workers, etc come out. Flair was pretty emotional the whole time this was happening.

Kevin Nash just did an interview on the Karlson & McKenzie radio show on 100.7 WZLX-FM in Boston. Here are some of the highlights:
-Talked about being at Wrestlemania 24 Sunday in a luxury box. Triple-H and Shawn Michaels invited him.
-Talked about Ric Flair beign an emotional wreck right now following his retirement. He joked that he thought for years the only way Flair would ever be done was if someone drove a stake through his heart.
-Talked about Hulk Hogan's new girlfriend saying he didn't think she was all that attractive. He jokingly asked "Chyna wasn't available?"
-A guy called up and asked him about Sean Waltman. Nash said he was in Mexico wrestling and said that he himself would never wrestle in Mexico.
-One of the hosts asked him about his basketball career. Nash said he got thrown off his college team for hitting the coach.
-Nash said his 11 year old son is 6 foot-1, but said he doesn't want him to get into wrestling.
-He was asked by a caller who is the one guy he wanted to fight that he never had the chance to. He said Andre the Giant.

I can tell you that this "rumor" is true. Thats all that I will say, or well, its looking promising. ;) There is also talk about having Trevor do some singing (which he isn't bad at, so if they do that gimmick and he sucks at singing, its intentional). Not kidding, lets hope that they drop that ****ty idea. Seriously...Also, Trevor went back to his blond hair color, I have noticed. He used that through his entire indy career. As for Cade, I like him. But, Trevor is heavily favored by WWE's top agents, behind the scenes.

According to a report by PWInsider, Jonathan Coachman has been hired by ESPN as an anchor and will be finishing up shortly with WWE. There is no word at this time when he will make his TV debut.
Coachman had indicated to many that he was already interested in leaving WWE for some time and had been doing additional work for both the MSG Network and CBS college sports broadcasts.
One of the reasons WWE put Mick Foley into his new role as Smackdown color commentator replacing Jonathan Coachman was because they wanted someone who would be able to put the company first on their list of responsibilities. Coachman has been with WWE since December of 1999, working as an announcer and on-air heel. He had previously worked as a sports writer and anchor before joining WWE.

The 2005 draft was different and it ran for a whole month while in 2007 the draft moved away from the traditional picks and it was sorted depending on who won the inter-promotional matches where the winner's brand received a pick.

How many thinks that the board being Vince wife will make Ric Flair a general Manager like on Raw or fire Vicki and put him on Smackdown. Long is the ECW GM.

They do need a new GM on Raw. Maybe Teddy Long will get drafted over to Raw.
I was pleasantly pleased with Raw last night. Good solid matches, especially Hardy and Carlito and who would have ever guessed Lance Cade coming out at the end. Vince's segments this week were a hell of a lot better than last week.

undertakers return
Undertaker will return to television by crashing the wedding between Edge & Vickie Guerrero scheduled for a SmackDown taping in mid-July. He will then be plugged right back into his program with Edge and feud with him for at least the rest of the summer. If they don't have a match at The Great American Bash, then definitely at SummerSlam, although it looks like the wedding is happening before GAB, so they could hotshot it for that show too. There was a feeling that his feud with Edge needed to be put on the shelf for a little while, although he did have some nagging injuries to tend to. The feeling was that it was going to run out of steam without a major twist, hence the retirement storyline.

So anybody have any thoughts on the upcoming draft? I'm predicting that Umaga us going to Smackdown along with Trevor Murdoch and Batista coming to Raw. I could see Shawn Michaels going to Smackdown if he wasn't starting a feud with Jericho. Oh and please send Snitsky to ECW.

I would like Cena to move over to Smackdown, actually. Because, I can't stand him, hahaha!!! Though, he is one of Raw's biggest draws, and I doubt they do it. I wouldn't mind Batista coming to Raw, but like jbailey said, I read that he isn't interested in switching brands. HBK to me, should stay on Raw forever and always. Jericho would be alright to send over to Smackdown, I think. Though, I like him A LOT on Raw. I personally think that the Hardy Boyz should get back together, and help bring back tag team wrestling. I would LOVE to see them vs. London and Kendrick. As for CM, I think that they will send him to Raw, but I wish they would keep him on ECW. He is their biggest draw, and probably always will be.

Too bad Raw lost good ole JR.

Yeah, I am going to miss JR on Raw, for sure...I was very happy to see Kane come back to Raw! Matt Hardy to ECW was disappointing as hell. Jeff Hardy to Smackdown was disappointing as well. I think that they both should have been on Raw together. CM Punk to Raw sucks in my opinion. He was a top player in ECW and brought a lot of fans to that brand. Rey Jr. to Raw was a good draft! Who cares about Umaga to Smackdown, haha!!! Batista to Raw was a pretty good draft pick, I think. About the ending of Raw. I think that its VERY tasteless to do that. Being that a TNA crew worker got killed a few weeks ago or so, from the stage collapsing or whatever happened exactly.

Vince will come back saying that him giving away the money was bad karma causing the set to collapse thus ending McMahon's Million Dollar Mania. I do agree with you though with the fact that they could have done it another way in light of recent events in TNA.

I just got back and saw the draft, it was really cool. Biggest shockers were JR and HHH going to SmackDown. Those two persons I could never have imagined leaving RAW. I know HHH did some years ago but he got switched back instantly. RAW definitely got the better deal. And ECW was simply the ***** of the show. I dont know what happened on TNA but I dont think Vince would have done something like that trying to make fun of TNA per se. I just dont see him going that far in competition with other businesses.
At Night of Champions, it would be awsome if HHH and Edge won, thus leaving the WWE Championship and World Title at SmackDown

about Taker
With the shock ending to last night's WWE RAW and Vince McMahon apparently being "injured" after the WWE set collapsed on him, it looks like they are going to go with another "Whodunit?" type angle. I hoped they had learned their lesson from the Vince's son and Vince's limousine storylines but I had a bad taste in my mouth last night after watching the conclusion to RAW. Did someone try to kill Vince McMahon?
We haven't heard much news yet on where this angle is headed but the one thing we have been told is that it came as a total surprise to most people backstage at RAW last night. The general feeling is only a handful of guys knew about what was going to happen.
But where could they take this? I could see Vince taking himself off TV possibly, which has been talked about recently. Another thing I could maybe see happening is The Undertaker playing some kind of role in it. Maybe The Deadman could be pissed off at leaving WWE and come back as a mega heel on the RAW brand? It's likely that The Undertaker will be on RAW upon returning as SmackDown's roster is looking pretty beefed up.
RedVader 2004
06-25-2008, 10:26 AM
If anything Raw is beefed up with Batista, Kane and Cena along with Mysterio and Micheals and well the list goes on. Then Thers Randy Orton. Um since when was The Big Show on Smackdown for he returned on Raw call me confused here. Also i thaugh Show was a ECW wrestler befor his injury.
