I guess it's a good *business* move for ABC, as it does sound like a hybrid of Lost and District 9, and already has more promise in idea form than FlashForward has as an actual series. If the film's popular (and it looks like it will be), then doing the sequel on television is a pretty smart idea, and is a new business model other studios might employ, if successful.

Of course, that would require the series actually being worth someone's time. All signs point to that not being the case, because aside from the big OTT, beyond-comprehension action sequences, there is absolutely nothing else in 2012 worth investing your time for.

So don't get me wrong when the idea of watching a 22-episode gritty realist drama, made by the same people who brought us such classics as Godzilla, The Day After Tomorrow and 10,000 BC, without any of the action sequences to just barely hold my interest together, doesn't exactly fill me with excitement.

The real question now becomes, what happens in a few years when 2012 comes and goes without any big event? So much for the T.V. series at that point. But, I wouldn't mind seeing a post-apocalyptic series of some kind, I just don't think 2012 is going to be any big deal personally.

On one side you see the good of them wanting to watch suspected terroists. But then on the other side you see the ed DEA backing it, too. Im sure theyre just tickled by the idea that they would have the ability to watch even us talking about AS. What the hell does the DEA have to do with terrorists?
