Allow me to throw a worthless vote at The Darkness, even though they're gonna lose. In all fairness, I've only heard that one song by Angels And Airwaves, that single they had out last year, Secret Crowds, and I dug it quite a bit. But The Darkness I've liked the hell out of since they first came out. There's something about that voice and the tone of the songs that's the opposite of emo, but at the same time they're largely about **** like drugs and screwin' and going bald. My favorite song of theirs is either Girlfriend or Get Your Hands Off My Woman. Holding My Own and Blind Man are both perfect album closers and always make me wanna drink. More.

Have never heard anything by Social Distortion though the same can be said for Tesla. Still I've only heard one song from Tesla years ago on the Rick Dees Weekly Top 40. A cover of Bob Dylan's Signs.

My tone of voice apparently doesn't translate sometimes. Of course I've heard of them, but only 'cuz I dig Eric Clapton, and they're otherwise pretty much not worth mentioning in my book. The Beatles, at least, are worth mentioning no matter whose book, that's the point I was trying unsuccessfully to make.

Anyway, I vote Kiss. Their music sorta sucks, the only song I can say that I genuinely like by them is "New York Groove", and unless I'm mistaken that's actually off of Ace Frehley's solo album. I know 'cuz I used to have the record. Look it up, kids. Anyhoo, Nirvana sucks. The only grunge band that was ever worth listening to was Pearl Jam, the rest of them were dated fad-riding nobodies who folks don't even remember anymore. People only remember Nirvana 'cuz that crybaby shot himself. That's not a tone-of-voice thing, either, that's literally. Way to claim your fame, dude, I hope it was worth it while you're all worm-food and ****.

Dude, I said "I vote Kiss" right there at the beginning of the second paragraph, deliberately so if you don't wanna read the rest you don't have to. I realize I can be a bit wordy at times but I thought the whole point was to foment discussion of why you think one band is better and actually converse about it. You know, expressing opinion and all, kind of what these internets is all about. Apparently you view your tournaments differently than I do, 'cuz when I do one and people just put one-word votes I'm a bit disappointed. I actually want to hear their explanations, and possibly argue if I disagree 'cuz that's fun. Why run the tournament if you don't want people to talk about it?

Oh yeah, I vote Type O Negative. I'll refrain from explaining why.

Let's put it this way. Nobody usually ever responds to it, so why bother (if they do, it might be an argument)? I just don't see the point going into paragraphs about why you like another band better and what is wrong with the other band that makes you hate them so much. We all get it. One word votes say it all. If you want to put something short, then go for it. I just don't care to read paragraphs and possibly spark an argument with someone. I don't mind, none of your comments bothered me. I'm just saying, sometimes people will want to argue with you. Though they haven't yet, I just don't care to ever have it happen in MY thread.
