Original? One of the best underrated horrors of the 80's.
The 3D re-make? A steaming pile of re-make crap.

I loved the original. I remember the poem, the weight bench scene, and the knife (or whatever) through tit scene, and was thoroughly disappointed when they didn't include those in the remake. That being said, this new one was way more awesomer than I thought it was gonna be, for 90% of it. The ending ruined it, in that you have 4/5ths of a really excellent flick that's trashed by its conclusion. But just 'cuz the ending sucks doesn't mean you should discount how cool the rest of it was while you were watching it. And this flick was super friggin cool while I was watching it. I saw it opening night with a packed house, and some doofus screaming every time there was a loud noise and everyone laughed at him, and chicks screaming every time the pick-axe swung, it was a great energy. That might have had a lot to do with it. When I see it again, I don't know how it'll seem, but I loved it the first time. Maybe that's the 3D, I don't think I've seen a 3D movie since I was like eight. But it was killer, no matter why.

I heard it was crap, although I still haven't seen it myself.

From the trailer, it looks pretty cool especially since it's 3D but at the same time it looks like a very cheesy slasher type film. If I do decide to see it, hopefully it's better than the Prom Night remake..

It is a very cheesy slasher type film, a friggin awesome cheesy slasher type film. It is 900 times better than the Prom Night remake, but there isn't much that isn't at least 200 times better than that piece of crap was. Valentine was a really cool brain-dead chunk of fun.

What made it redemable for me was that fact that it was in 3-D. I wouldnt have been able to watch it in 2D.

Effects were incredible in 3-D!

I actually liked this. The 3D was super fun, they really made good use of it. I was really close to the screen so it was extra....whoa! Did anyone stay to the very end of the credits? It was creepy, especially since I was the only one left in the theater...spooky.

I was forced into watching this. The 3-D was fun - other than that, it sucked.

Some of the surround effects had me wondering if I really was alone after all. heh

I'll second that the 3D was fun. In fact, this film just won't work without the 3D big screen experience. I wouldn't recommend it for video, unless you have a huge TV and the 3D video version actually looks good. Because that's basically its only saving grace.
