View Full Version : why is the ps2 still 129.99?

I really want one, but 129.99 is a bit steep for an 8 year old console. thing should be about 89 bucks by now.

anyone know of any price drops coming soon for the ps2?

Still trying to compete with the WII I guess. They can't lower the price down because of all the loss of business they've had. That's just me babling away...

i know at gamestop they have the referbished ones cheap, but the reasion it is 130 is because people still buy them and still make games for it.

yeah but I don't want a refurbished system, too many things can go wrong with it. rather havea brand new system.

I'm guessing that there is just a certian price point for the materials to make them.

Could it be that the PS2 was/is the best console to come out in this decade and produced some of the absolute best games?

like? I can't honestly think of anything to spend it on, an mp3 player? tried it with Ipod touch, returned cause it sucked.

well, i would buy 6 magazine racks, but that is just because i am in a unique situation.

i would also buy a cheap computer off craigslist or something.

wow, I don't need either of those things.

The fact that they're still making games for the PS2 just goes to prove it's staying power and awesomeness. And don't even use that "Oh well the PS3 was just too expensive" bulls**t. The PS3 has been out for 2 years now, surely one could've saved up enough money by now to get one.

Did the raise the price back up or something? I could have sworn it had dropped down to $99 at one point. *shrugs*

But yeah, if it's still selling, they're not going to lower it's price too much. But I agree, if it hasn't already been dropped to 99, it really needs to be.

well I couldve saved, but Im cheap and I cant justify a ps3 purchase yes it has all those bells and whistles...but I don't even have a dvd collection so the hell with blu ray movies. I also don't have a HDTV so it wouldve been pointless on buying one. when it comes to a ps3, I have to go out my way to get more bang out of money, no need for that imo.

so a ps2 is the next best thing.
