Those things are a blight on American culture. Boxes consisting nothing but twenty populist new releases, the perfect medium for people who will never see anything except the narrow selection the coorperations want you to see.

Hmm, I beg to differ. They have "Transsiberian" and "Sukiyaki Western Django" at my location among other not so "commercial" films just to name a few. I think it's good for those of us that are on a super tight budget, and they offer free rentals, which I just obtained.

How can you rag on a dollar to rental, it's a dollar? :meanie:

Redbox is the only way I'll see mediocre crap because at least it won't cost me more than $2 and believe me, I've seen my share like 27 Dresses,Untraceable, and War.

I haven't used it in a few months though. The last one I rented there was Street Kings which, along with Keanu's performance, was a pleasant surprise.

Yeah, I just finished watching a really "meh" film I got from there. I'm so glad I didn't pay to see it in the theater.

Redbox is now offering select older movies through "Redbox Replay." So far, Sony is the 1st and only studio offering titles of older movies like Five Easy Pieces and Ghostbusters. I've rented some recently:

Awakenings
Starship Troopers - Watching it right now actually.
Memento
From Here to Eternity

You can also get free rentals on Monday. They send you a text with the code every Monday.

Convenient if you drive past one every day, but otherwise, if you forget a return, it's an extra dollar per day, which is how they make the majority of their money - late fees.
