I'm trying to find the name of a horror movie.. and IMDB has failed me.. the movie is a 70's horror flick, had to be before 1982 at least.. about a group of teens in the woods... and a blond foriegn exchange student who was named Tiana... and the killer was some type of half man half freak like chainsaw a little and he kept calling her name ....Tiana .... coming to get you Tiana....

anybody have a clue? A cookie to anyone who can figure it out.. thanks

That sounds familiar. But it's basic enough that most of it can be applied to just about every slasher flick, except the name-calling. And the foreign exchange qualifier. Does the ending involve a boat-house? And there's some other dude involved, like her boyfriend or something, who's there at the boat-house during their final confrontation. The killer looks like some sort of monster or something under the mask, like the dude from Funhouse.

I really couldn't say, I've never seen it myself. Here's the story.. MY girlfriend is basically named after the girl in the movie. Her mom was a big horror movie buff, and a few days before going into labor (1981) her mom and dad watched this movie.. they were going to name her Tina but her mom really liked the name Tiana it was prominent enough in the movie that I guess it stuck.

LOL.. weird story I know.. but her mom can't remember the name of the film and shes never been able to find it.. so shes kinda interested in seeing it. I told her I could more than likely figure it out.. with the help of other movie buffs of course.. someone suggested Mother's Day on a different website.. but I've seen that movie.. the Girl in that movie is Trina and is played by a girl named Tiana, but I don't remember anything about a chainsaw wielding freak and the "Trina" in the movie isn't a foreign exchange student... so I don't think that's it

Sorry...the 'Tiana' film doesn't ring any bells with me either.

While we're on the topic of 'missing gems', I'm just sending out a line about an old slasher film I’m trying to track down that my pop keep going on about. He’s a horror fan like me, and for ages he’s been telling me about this black & white slasher he saw in the ‘60s about some stoned hippies that go off in a camper van, come across an old abandoned house, and then get hunted down one by one by a killer with a skull mask and a drill/corkscrew weapon for a hand? My pa reckons it’s still the best slasher he’s ever seen, but he can’t remember it’s freakin' name! I really wana check it out. Does the story sound familiar? Any leads or ideas you guys have would be cool. I think it came out in ’67 - ’69…cheers :)

Hey Gore Monster

Sounds like a cool film and killer! Sounds like a movie my pal Mick once told me about – I’ll have to check in with him. I haven’t seen it, and I’m not sure if he has, but I think it was called The Dark Beneath, or The Dark Below, or Beyond or something…would love to see it. Any of you horror buffs know anything more about it?

Hey - cheers for the list JHeyDC. I'll run it by pop and hopefully you'll get a cookie out of it!

It might be bull****, but my pop is sure the film was directed by a guy called Radford, or maybe Bradford??? Anyone heard of him? Horror director in the ‘60s/’70s… I can’t find anyone that matches on IMDb though? ...

Trying to drain more info out of my pa....

So... The killer lives in this old abandoned house in the stix like I said with his deranged Mum, he kills the hippies who have broken down in a van nearby by shoving his drill hand/arm through their heads/stomachs etc. (sweeeet!) and then takes them down to the basement of the house where he keeps them alive and tortures them.... classic. Not that enlightening I know, but might jolt your memories?!

Thanks... we'll crack it

The search continues...!

Slumber Party Massacre 2 is the only thing that a drill-through-torso brings to mind. Damn, but that movie was awesome. It doesn't get much cooler than a drill-guitar, except maybe a chainsaw-hand.

As far as the thread subject, can't help you guys out. I just thought I'd regail you with my fond memories of Slumber Party Massacre 2, which I recommend you watch immediately if you haven't yet. I still haven't figured out what that movie I sorta almost remembered after the first post is, with the boat-house and the disfigured bad guy. I remember watching that when I was little and I think it just might be what Ark-Angel was looking for, but I can't remember **** else about it except the boat-house final scene. I think the bad guy ended up getting set on fire.

Hey You Guys!!! (as Sloth might say) My dad is sure it was The Dark Beneath! Thanks Horror Freak! You are a legend - I appreciate you chasing me around the forums! So excited now – can’t wait to check it out. My pa can't wait to see it again! Have any of you guys seen it? I haven’t found anything about it on the web yet… any info you guys have on it would be cool, even better, do you know where I can buy it!

HorrorFreak78, can you ask your friend Mick about it?

Hey Cats,

I've been hitting all the forums trying to track down this old '60s slasher my pop told me about. It's called THE DARK BENEATH. I was doing lots of fruitless research and eventually came across this site called Inquisition Films that have the film listed for rental - the original trailer is on there too! Check it out:

*edit*

It looks awesome! I’ve mailed them but haven’t had any response yet. Can you guys try contacting them too? Let me know how you get on…

Cheers GM
