PS3's tend to be more reliable than your average Xbox but at this point both are at a pretty much stable level. PS3 luckily has a lot of war games, some that define the system. You have the entire Call of Duty series: 3, 4, and World At War are all good games. Resistance 1 and 2 are also great war games, you are fighting aliens but it takes place in a World War II environment, plus this series essentially defines the PS3 as a whole. As for the Motorstorm games, if you plan to pick up both, I would advise skipping over the first one (unless you can get it for a great deal). It has unbearable load times and a lot of glitches. I haven't played the second one so I can't guarantee everything is fixed but a lot of reviews seem to imply most of it is working fine.

yea avoid call of duty 3 though, no matter how cheap you can get it for. its not worth it.

definitely pick up metal gear solid 4, just a masterpiece and mlb 08 the show is the best baseball game ever and a great sports game in general and also the ps3 plays blu ray dvds so u have a video game system and a blu ray player;)

Yes it has built in wi fi, and its kicks ass! and to sum up blue ray, it kicks ass, also to get cheap HDMI cables go to monoprice.com

Awsome! be sure to get MEtal gear Solid 4, Resestence ,Folklore , rachet and clank uncharted, and little big planet cause those are some of the best games on ps3 now.

So, I am wanting to buy a PS3 this week or so. And am wanting more information about them, and do they poop out as much as the XBOX 360's do? I am not really an XBOX fan either, so of course I'd pick PS3. But, what is great about them? Get me more excited here!!! I am usually more into sports games (my first purchase will be Madden 2009, and then Raw vs. Smackdown 2009). But, I do play some war games, and could use suggestions on the best war games. Also, I am wanting to get the Motor Storm games too. Info would be MUCH appreciated!!!

Well Zombie first of all, I'm glad you're not a fan of XBOX seeing as how they've basically stolen all of the great PS franchises (Devil May Cry, Smackdown vs. Raw, Final Fantasy, Guitar Hero, Tekken, just to name a few). Secondly, go ahead and get all the games everyone has mentioned so far. But also wait, cause some of the best games have yet to come. God of War III, Killzone 2, Gran Turismo 5, Street Fighter IV, Resident Evil 5, inFamous, Darksiders: Wrath of War, Bioshock 2, and so on.

I personally am looking forward to Heavy Rain and Quantum Theory. Those two look like they're going to be epic.

Oh dude, Killzone ROCKED PS2, man it ROCKED IT!!! I had no idea the second one was coming out already, damn. And yeah, I'm also getting Resident Evil 5 and God of War III when it comes out. And Bioshock? I can't wait to see which way they go with that one.

I have my eyes set on Far Cry 2 and Bad Company. I also found Motostorm the first one, for 7.99 just because the back part of the case (the paper inside) is missing, haha!!!

also if you want a game to just to relax and have fun with Little Big Planet is great its the game of the year tied with MGS4 in my books.

Blu Ray is basicly what all the ps3 games are played on and Now movies are on them to the movies them self hold up to 50 Gigs on a Dual Layer Blu ray if you have a good HD TV Hooked up to HDMI id Recomend Renting the one of the following movies to see how amazing blu Ray looks

any pixar film Wall*E is the best on blu ray by far.

I've had my PS3 for less than 6 months.

So far, I can reccommend:

Exclusives

MGS4 - If you liked the previous ones you will like this one. Best game I've played in a while.
Resistance - Just got this one actually, played it for a few hours and I think it's right up to par with COD4 and Halo.

Non-exclusives

COD4 - Loads of fun online
GTA4 - Great time as usual
Oblivion - Great if you like in depth RPGs (first person RPG)

I also have Condemn2, but haven't played it yet.

Warhawk is a great game, I always have fun when I'm playing. SOCOM: Confrontation is pretty bad ass as well. I'm looking forward to Killzone 2 and would also recommend Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter 2, Call of Duty: World at War.

I got my PS3 for christmas but to me it still doesn't match the 360. Gears of War 2, Halo 3, Forza Motorsports 2 and a ton more games run a lot better than the games on the PS3. Not to mention the online service is a bit out there and isn't nearly as fluid or as easy to use as Live.

but metal gear, god of war, little big planet, resistance and gran turismo are far better than any 5 exclusive the 360 has and im not just saying that to make ppl mad because i have a 360 as well and like it almost just as much. and you are right the online is better and much easier to use on the 360

From what I've seen, X360 reviews have held up a lot better than the exclusives that the Playstation has offered.

well maybe everything aside from metal gear and little big planet which have been in the top 3 all year along with gta iv. id much rather play those 2 than gears or halo or fable. and turismo is far better than any other racing game out there especially with damage being added finally!! about time!

Got Resistance 1 and Siren: Blood Curse over christmas. Just found time to give them both a blast tonight and think both are pretty good. The controls on Siren will take a bit getting used to but it is quite scary in the dark on your own :lol:

I just got my ps3 on saturday for €280 whereas the rrp is €399.99 from a closing down Zavvi (previously known as Virgin Megastore), so I'm happy about that but feel sorry for the staff working there.

Just downloaded Home today and it was pretty fun and addictive. Ended up gegging into a conversation between a lad and a girl and an abusive lad. We both took the piss out the lad trying to get a date and then it turned out the girl was actually a lad and he was the abusive lads mate hahaha. The guy who was trying to get a date was devastated!!

Was ****ing hilarious though because I didn't have a clue lol
