ComingSoon just gave it a 10/10, which made me search for a trailer, and wow.. This movie looks great! Very atmospheric, creepy trailer, I definitely want to see this! Anyone else?

I've seen it being called one of the best horror films in years. Unfortunately, for some reason it's had a long limbo phase thanks to some odd decision making on Warner Bro's part. I wasn't sure if it was getting a theatrical release or not. It was a long time ago that I read that it was probably just going straight to DVD, but that could have changed.

yeah i really hope for a theatrical release and cannot wait to see this but theres no way this thing hits theaters next week. its likely it will be leaked online soon and then warner will just slap it a dvd release

Just checked out a trailer, looks pretty cool. I'm sure I'll be checking it out. I do hope it gets a theatrical release and not straight to DVD.

Jesus, I saw this movie May of last year. I doubt anything has changed since the cut I saw was pretty much done, aside from music. I think the 10 out of 10 is a little overboard, an 8 or a 9 would work though, since I thought the flick was really damn good. I'm surprised WB is pretty much dumping the film into obscurity, I really think it could be a new horror classic.

There was a poster in my Cineplex saying "October 31" .. So I think it might be limited release on Halloween? I don't know, I just know that I want to see it!

I think that they're just having screenings in random places.

Yeah they are basically having random screenings. As far as I am aware that Waner Brothers now wants to release the film sometime in 2009. I do not understand studios sometimes. I really want to check it out.

It looks pretty good, though the one thing I'd like to point out concerning the rave reviews are that the majority are from horror sites, which needless to say, give out great scores to really terrible movies (I believe they account for the only positive reviews of Saw V for example). The multiple storyline aspect is extremely interesting though and I'm very disappointed that there isn't a set date with this. We could've used a horror movie like this this year.
jbailey84
11-10-2008, 03:27 PM
yea i watched 300 last night and the trailer is shown before the movie.
i read the storyline is like Creepshow, has 4-5 different stories but they seem to link together with Sam.
i really hope it isn't a straight to dvd release.

I gave up on this a while ago. Month after month, now year after year. Its annoying now.
I mean, interesting story[s], good cast, Bryan Singer, how hard is it to market?

Check out the New Trick 'R Treat Trailer!
Source:iangibb2005 April 19, 2009
ShockTillYouDrop reader iangibb2005 has pointed us to a new extended trailer for Michael Dougherty's long-delayed horror anthology Trick 'R Treat, which ends with an announcement that it will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray this October, just in time for Halloween. We've been informed that there will be more details about the release in June, though it's not yet clear whether the movie might get a theatrical release sometime before October.

Yeah, this was definitely worth seeing on the big screen. Shame WB is unceremoniously dumping it onto dvd. At least it's also coming out on Blu Ray. Hopefully, it has some great bonus features.

You know, I haven't seen such positive buzz for a horror flick in quite some time, especially having gone on as long as it has. Midnight Meat Train had a sorta similar trajectory, but I've heard even better stuff about this one. It really is surprising that they ain't releasing it to the theaters, with the ass-ton of ridiculous junk that gets thrown out there. I bet if they put this out in October it would kill, at least on opening weekend, with all the anticipation it's built up. Maroons, I tells ya, maroons run Hollywood.

Holy crud, I'm glad you said that or I'd have never even realized there was a screening in Austin. I just looked up that Fantasticfest thing, that looks pretty groovy. Too bad VIP tickets are sold out. It says if you buy a regular ticket for $150 you might not necessarily get to see the movies you want to see, which ****in blows for that much. It does look swell, though, I think I might go. If anyone else is, that would cinch it for me.
Oh yeah, thread topic. I'm still quite looking forward to this movie, too.
