Did this movie really need an 3 Disc Ultimate Edition?

I'd rather have one for the first movie than this one.

wait they have an extended cut of this film... But not for Blu-Ray

wtf...

even if you didn't enjoy the movie. At this point if your going to do an extended version and not have it out for blu-ray as well it's stupid.

ughhh...

They're releasing it in Blu-ray too:

BD-Live web-enabled content
• The X-Files Dossier: Agent Dakota Whitney Files – create your own Special Agent avatar profile to browse through 5 “X-Files” case files on clairvoyance; users can also participate in several online forensic challenges with Agent Drummy
• BonusView mode
- The X-Files Complete Interactive Timeline – featuring over 80 video clip segments from “The X-Files” archives
- Picture-in-picture commentary with Chris Carter and Frank Spotnitz*
• In-Movie Features via BD remote direct access*
- Real-time Index (Red Button)
- BonusView Commentary (Green Button)
- Behind The Camera (Blue Button)
- Storyboards and Concept Art (Yellow Button)
• Isolated Score track
• Enhanced for D-Box Motion Code systems
• Digital Copy of the film for portable media players

The art is the same as the second I posted above. Sorry, I rarely even look at the Blu-ray stuff because it doesn't apply to me.

And don't thread crap Matrix, you didn't see me going into the Speed Racer DVD thread and posting something negative in there.

You really should. All threads have at least one thing negative in them. Not everyone thought X-Files Dos was good.

I'm voicing my opinion. It's not hurting anybody. I'm not calling anyone idiots for liking it or anything. You liked it, that's great, do I think you're a moron? No. You just had different expectations than I did.

All I'm really asking is why a film that was a critical and commercial flop is getting the star dvd/blu-ray treatment like it was some Blockbuster success?

If you want to speak negatively of the film, do so in the review thread or the general thread; the DVD threads are clearly there for fans of the film.

And it deserves two discs (the third is the digital copy, which I've never seen the point of) because this could quite possibly serve as the end cap to a mythology spanning over 200 episodes and another feature film.

holy **** really? wheres that rule at? cause then i got a lot of people to report to frizzo for speaking negatively on a dvd review thread. This is just unbelievable that people would speak their minds about a dvd.

I think im going to **** myself im so angry about that, How dare you matrix!

I kind of agree with Tornado, There's no point of bashing a film that you didn't enjoy in the DVD section of it. That is actually left for the fans like us who enjoyed the film and waiting for the DVD itself.

Okay, I'll drop this soon. But I just want to make sure if I have this straight.

I can rag on a movie before it comes out on the Movies Coming Soon threads.
I can rag on a movie after I see it on the Review Threads.
However......
When it's featured in an upcoming DVD thread, I can't rag on it?

Just seeing if I got that right.

It's not a rule, but it's kind of in poor taste to do so.

Though to be fair, your negative comment was based on the movie getting a 3-disc treatment which is semi-relative. Comparing that to the people who like to jump into a DVD thread and say "Why would anyone buy this piece of ****?", it wasn't so bad.

Tornado

Yeah, but they both hate the movie. I don't even know why they came in here in the first place other than to stir **** up.

Is it an actual extended cut, or are there just bonus scenes and the like? Because I didn't think the press release read like it was an extended cut. It seems more to be the deleted scenes.

But this thread has devolved almost solely into bickering. While it's largely both of our faults, that's exactly what's stirring **** up is.

Check mate. ;)

they really should've continued the whole alien conspiracy stuff with scully's baby son. instead of giving me this phycic run around crap. Bringing back Skinner and the smoking guy would've been a true X-files flick.

"Chris Carter said that if I Want to Believe proved successful, he would propose that a third movie go back to the TV-series' mythology and focus on the alien invasion foretold within the series, due to occur on December 22, 2012"

see thats dumb, that should've done that with "I want to believe".

Tornado
09-21-2008, 11:25 PM
Well, they did bring back Skinner, and CGB Spender is dead. So... no, they shouldn't have brought Spender back.
